More of a kick in the knackers to only get a token sum for the efforts of our academy really.
Awesome for Matt though.

One of the features of supporting BRFC has always been being able to watch some of our younger players, and others that we have brought in too, leave us and move on to the next level. Apart from a fairly brief period when we employed a ''No Buy, No Sell'' policy, we have always been a selling club. This is primarily because we have never owned our own ground, and have never generated sufficient revenue through the turnstiles not to be.
I think that from a personal perspective, the Welsh nursery unearthed quite a number of excellent players for us, some stayed and others moved on. But before that era if you look at the first team and the reserves, there was a majority of home-grown talent. Sadly we don't seem to produce the number of players that we used to, due in part to other clubs scouting in our traditional areas.

Might get his taste of European football when Arsenal drop into the Europa League (or the dead rubber against Olympiakos).

Although if they happen to win away at Bayern it'll be game back on again for their qualification They will draw away at Bayern, beat Zagreb and Olympiacos to finish 2nd in their group, then draw Barca, win 2-1 at home and lose 4-0 away. Despite being one of the richest clubs in the world Wenger will be delighted with the effort and solidarity of his players, their fans will feel cheated, Stan Kronke will pocket a few million quid more, then they'll do the exact same thing all over again next year.

If, like Arsenal in Europe, the same thing happens every time then just copy the lotto numbers from a year ago.

Bamber, you sound like a spurs fan, 99% of the teams in this country would be delighted with that every year. Now the stadium is payed for the team will get stronger, me? well id be just happy with the league this season something spurs can only dream about.

Spurs fan indeed, wash your mouth out!!! 4 miles up the road but still a hundred years behind what's happening at Emirates. It's just such a well trodden path, and then to rub salk in, Ivan Gazidis will try to put spin on it and make one of the richest clubs in the world under-achieving (again) sound like a success. With the cash sat in the bank there's no reason whatsoever for not bringing in a couple of proper central defenders and someone like Benzema. So what does Wenger do? He buys Callum Chambers who doesn't seem to even know if he's a central defender or a right midfielder and Welbeck with knacked knees. Sanchez won't hang around long either unless he sees at least a realistic chance of winning the League very soon.
