We never played to his strengths ever, constant huff ball all the time with his back to goal was never Matts Game, put a good cross over and i would put Money on Matt getting on the end of it and Ryan is much the same, put the ball in front of him and he will do the business I just hope & pray the WC plays "Football" and not "Wosh" football next season or i feel we are in for a LONG season I agree with what you say here, but I don't accept the sentiment that Matt Harrold wouldn't be missed or that Ryan Brunt should be sent packing as well. Both could still play a big part and I sincerely hope that DC has the footballing intelligence to get the best out of these two players if they remain.

Either of Two things will happen, He will finish their top scorer , or get your money on Crawley to be relegated . My money's on the 2nd scenario!

Is there any transfer fee involved? Or is it a free? I suspect it will be a free as we were looking to offload because of his contract. Releasing wages is more valuable in a way than a transfer fee

Only if those wages are used to IMPROVCE the squad. Is there any signs that the wages of ANY players who have left in recent years have been reinvested in the playing staff??? As I see it from the day Trollope left every season has seen a reduction in the amount spent on wages. Our problem seems to me to be that we go too much with a policy..ie right it will be a quality over quantity or we will go with youth. Each season following the policy seems to make us even worse!!

With careful nurturing and attention those mini scarves could grow into huge scarves capable of taking this club back into the Football League.

Crikey Manc, potentially a -£500k on Watola's calculation. Me thinks you are a bit generous

So do you think the likes of Kenneth, JJOT, Parkes, McC, Mildenhall & Brunt all joined us for little money?? Our wage bill suggests we have kept on paying decent wages just the quality has slipped.

DC told me after the EGM last week that he wouldn't be surprised if Harrold left and didn't really mind if he did. He thought he could sign two or three players for the wages Harrold was/is on.
A nice bloke is Matty but simply didn't offer much of a goal threat and didn't play that well last season. Good luck to him but I think this is good news for Rovers to be honest.

I dont agree with this at all i think that the rare players who have played well for us will always be welcomed back, for example Disley.
However the numerous journeymen who have shamed the quarters of the last ten years i expect to be met with a mild indifference and those who've taken the piss like o'toole will get a rough ride and rightly so.

Oh the irony here,
Matty was the villain last season and how many were always disappointed when he did come on when able ? He had a thankless task of running the line on his own and was expected to make his own scoring opportunities. One major plus point with Matty is that he was always trying his hardest and you could never accuse him of not playing for the shirt. He had the one season of 18 goals but has been injured and played as a sole striker too many times BUT he never pulled a wobbly or acted up. I am not a big fan but I feel we need his type of personality in the dressing room as he is a good pro. I've head talk he is on a big wage but no one can ever substantiate that, apparently had a contract that he plays when fit but again not backed up with fact. He took Dogs abuse yet still carried himself well with no public displays of anger or upset Good luck MH. I hope you do well.

We'll need a target man I assume. Harrold might of been okay in the 5th.

Hop in, Matty I've got the engine running. No no, Matt you need to turn to face the car door to get in it. What you've done there is tried to back in, gone about a yard wide and ended up on your arse. Says it all really, harsh but accurate LJG. Harrold seems to be a nice bloke, but we do need more than that where we find ourselves.

DC did say he did not want players in the squad with 'full bellies' and I suppose they show themselves by hunting for a new easy feast. Not bothered.

One big earner needed to go, glad it's Harrold, look forward to seeing which Targetman DC brings in. One big plus point is that we will have a completely different strikeforce to the one we had last season. Charlie Sheringham could be a good option as a replacement.

Sorry but the amount of goals he scored for us last season speaks volumes, good luck but I'm afraid you will not be missed by me...
