My Mrs is the most exciting ball carrier i know...id get behind her....
Christian seems alright though; pace, agression, skillfull, goes around people, scores goals. Very happy with this signing, looks a good footballer to me.

I assume that Bodin plays on the opposite side to Montano? Montano can play both sides. dont confuse the issue, some think that a left footer must always play on the left and vice versa

Dodgy signing IMO. I'm guessing its a cheap punt on a player who has grown up a little bit and hasn't many options

Managers manage men - cantona did well under fergies character, ally McCoist did terrible since he was "one of the boys"

As far as I'm concerned he may have baggage but he has not been convicted, so is an innocent man. Do you not think he is innocent? Me and you don't know one way or the other....... and we would also have to read a lot about it, but he is a very dodgy signing (in my opinion). and do you also think Ellis is also a "Dodgy" player to have around due to his recent history ?

It is a very divided opinion on this thread but inevitable that all the montano baggage was all out in the open early. He has had some pretty serious stuff linked to him but not found guilty. That sort of stuff does not 'normally' happen to people. I hope he has matured and does not surround himself with people who would influence him toward the wrong behaviour. His squad colleagues seem a collection of decent men and that must have a baring. DC must also have evaluated the risk. Having read all the comments, I am going to support him as a Rovers player on the assumption that he is innocent as not proven guilty. A cautious clean slate. I then hope he is a fantastic footballer who helps us to a consecutive promotion.

No point banging on about the past, he's not guilty, end of. Sounds like DC has done some homework regarding the player's character before signing, too.

Yes you do - he was never found guilty in a court of law, ergo he is an innocent man. That's how it works.

Very easy to have serious stuff follow you when you are a footballer.
Everybody lambasts Rooney, Terry, Cole, but most of those lambasters never had women attempting to felate them 24/7.
Tiger Woods, again, the condemnation was strong but how many wouldn't fulfill fantasies if they were a billionaire?
Easy to be pious when your a nobody.
On another note, thank the lord Harman isn't pm otherwise an allegation would be sufficient to convict.

Welcome to our club Mr. Montano.
Play with passion and intensity and we will love you for it.

Very strange signing, in my opinion. why he looks good in this video welcome to the gas A few bits of fancy footwork, obvious pace, recovers fast from being on the deck and can shoot. Good stuff to have in the bag. However, the vid shows a couple of Hail Mary balls and very little on the assists front. If I was a winger and wanted a vid to show what I'd got, there would be plenty of getting it to the line and crossing for a goal attempt. In that respect Dawson's end of season vid was better. Hopefully it is just an oversight by the compiler and Cristian puts the ball on a forward's plate at regular intervals....otherwise we are relying on Browner Gosling and McChrystal(!) to be the providers.

He was very dodgy until about Christmas. He seemed to need a lot of work from the management team, and they weren't shy in telling people about that Seems to have been born again since. One swallow doesn't make a summer, but i'm as optimistic as i was at he end of the season before last

DC isn't a mug - he knows a manager lives and dies by his recruitment and won't have made this signing without some serious thought and research.
We have a lot of hardworking players in the squad, but it's the likes of Lines and Montano who have the potential to unlock doors and make the difference in tight games.
Yes it's a slight gamble, but one worth taking IMO. I have faith that DC will be able to manage him, and it sounds as if previous manager references have been very complimentary about him.
And at the end of the day, he's an innocent man. It's not like we're signing Lee Hughes here.

Did he actually sue Oldham for wrongful dismissal?

Did he actually sue Oldham for wrongful dismissal? Yes and no. He started the process then dropped it. Its a strange one for me. Here we have Cristian who has been found NOT GUILTY for rape claims yet Oldham sack him. But not long after, Oldham tried to sign a convicted rapist in Ched Evans. Strange.

Good point - the moral compass of Oldham is hardly one to be trusted!

I think Oldham sacked him for the match fixing claims rather than the rape charge.

I think we should all get behind El Araña, could be a hell of a signing. Make him feel welcome and I think he'll perform.

Well actually if you read about the case his co-defendents were found not guilty on his charge the jury couldn't reach a verdict so he was neither found guilty or not guilty. As to suing Oldham and then dropping the case would suggest he either had a very weak case or didn't want other things to be made public.
