The Grimsby fans seem to think they have won the league already, that's good for us as over confidence brings complacency and extra pressure on their players I feel more confident the more I think about the last 5 games and don't think we have seen the best of Easter yet,it is Easter weekend,c'mon jermaine

Must be about 7 different threads on how they are so much better than anyone else in the league. For them to win it it's likely that their run to the championship would need to be 12 wins in their last 13 games. If their last 5 games complete that run then that's pretty amazing. The problem is is that no one in this league is that good!

They seem over confident but I suppose it's good to be positive, don't see any signs of this from us?? Don't know why were in the same position and most people are negative, let's get behind the boys and push over the finish line It might not be pretty to watch sometimes but we are challenging for the title and I bet the players are s**tting it,loud and proud for the next 5 we can do this gas

Last time they took 2000 away they got beat by lincoln. Plus their home record suggests that they struggle in front of their own fans but flourish playing in front of a smaller away contingent. I think they will be out of the chace come 6pm Monday.

The old Jedi quote....over confidence is their weakness.
I genuinely hope Grimsby do get promoted with us. Absolute disgrace Akinde rearranging Locks face, the bully.
At least Grim and us are trying to play it the right way and have been old established league clubs.

How is this thread any different to what you're accusing the codpieces of?

How is this thread any different to what you're accusing the codpieces of? Because no posts on this thread have stated that we are better than everyone else in the league and that it's our trophy already.

A Grimsby fan in peace
I hope come the end of the season that both teams get promoted.
We do not think we are Champions, but are excited at the moment with having a chance of automatic promotion, Barnet are still in pole position with both Grimsby & Bristol in hot pursuit. After the your win over us, the best we could have hope for was a play-off place (12 pts behind Barnet). With the run of 22pts from a possible 24 we are back in the title race. After losing out in the last 2 play-offs we feel that this may our year, but they are still 5 games left and their will be more twist and turns before the end of the season.
Just look at the away support both teams we take to their last 2 away games ( most teams bring between 30-80 to our ground) Southport are hoping we are still in the title race for a bumper pay day.

I'll be honest from what I've read on their forum, I can't see that the Grimsby fans are any more or less confident than we were before the Eastleigh game (which gave us a shock of reality).
It's a 3 horse race now and Barnet have the slimmest of advantages with 5 to go.
I still fancy us, but I do think we will have to win all of our remaining games to take the title. It's possible and the players are capable

Whereas of course all Rovers fans would keep a cool calm sense of perspective......
I think they're entitled to think they're in the box seat. They have the best momentum and they probably have the easiest run in of the 3.

If Grimsby & /or Barnet win 4 games and draw 1 we'll need to win all 5, if they win 3 & draw 2 then 4 wins & 1 draw will be good enough, even that seems a big ask on our current form.
Our best hope is Grimsby & Barnet really screw up and 3 wins & 2 draws will be good enough.

Weird stuff happens this time of year; players get tight when there's big stakes on the line, sides in the middle of the table suddenly play with freedom. Wouldn't completely surprise me if a team went up with 9 points from their remaining games. Pressure and expectation does odd things - I felt it got to us in the 2nd half on Saturday.

Yep, if we'd won on Saturday we'd be top by 2 points....damn you Macclesfield for being in the top four, having such good home form and not rolling over for the 'massive' Bristol Rovers

I hope that if we don't finish top you do. I would much rather Barnet in the playoffs because right now you have a momentum that they (and us) do not. I do want you guys to get promoted as long as it's not at our expense if only for the guy that wrote that heartfelt rant that went viral on the day you got relegated. However, please don't come on here or anywhere for that matter and call us "Bristol". It's disrespectful lazy arsed bollox. We aren't Bristol anymore than the Manc clubs are simply Manchester!

Let's just hope it's the Grimsby players that believe all they have to do is turn up for the last 5 fixtures.
This is where they will get a bit of a shock & suddenly have a panic on their hands!
