Note from the BoD to protesters The board of directors understand supporters are planning a series of protests against Sainsbury’s during the coming weeks, over their attempts to pull out of the UWE Stadium deal. At this moment in time, due to our ongoing legal action and with the High Court hearing a matter of weeks away, the club is not able to officially endorse or engage in any such protests, however we share the supporters' frustration with the position Sainsbury's is adopting and have no objection to supporters making their views known and taking any lawful steps to draw Sainsbury's actions to the attention of the wider public. We do entirely understand how supporters feel given the on-going saga surrounding the UWE Stadium, especially when the project is pivotal to our ambitions of taking the club to the next level. So we ask all supporters who are organising, or plan to take part in the protests to keep them both lawful and peaceful. On behalf of the board we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank you all for your patience and co-operation in this matter, we are all very frustrated by the course of recent events. Your support throughout this process is hugely appreciated, and we can assure you it does not go un-noticed. This is a team effort and we are grateful to have you on our side during what is a testing time for all involved. As a board we continue to work incredibly hard behind the scenes to give the club a brighter future. Bristol Rovers is a unique club, with unique supporters. Keep the faith. I think that it is time for Buckrippers, Martin Bull and others of a "journalistic persuasion" who have the ear of the press to bring Sainsbury's (unsavoury?) actions to national attention.

The only people affected by any disruptions in their stores will be their poor bloody employees, making their jobs more difficult is hardly going to upset their Board of Directors is it.

Anyone know any details about these 'series of protests'? Can't see anything on either forum.
I know it's been talked about as an idea by some on certain threads over the past few months, but this now sounds something formal. Something going on on a facebook group maybe?

We need to clear up a few issues here !. Firstly: who or where is their any information that 'protest groups ' are undertaking action ?. Maybe this might come out in the next few days and I will comment on my views in a minute. Could this be a ploy from the board to get public attention thus putting pressure on Sainsbury's ?. If so this concerns me as it indicates they are going to court to fight us. In regards to 'protest groups ' prior to law decisions I have a slight problem. Although : on the face of it Sainsbury's appear to be acting like powerful bullies. Would it not be best to hear what the facts are and make an assessment based on clear evidence from the court case. If it is clear Nick Higgs is telling the truth as he conveyed to us. And still Sainsbury's appeal the decision to the court of appeal. Then I would happily get involved in some form of action within the law . This statement from Rovers will make national headlines in the next 24 hours but who's behind it .

It is a clear own goal and don;t bode well do it Other than a few individuals refusing to shop or refuel their vans and cars I haven't read anything about protests so I wonder why this has been raised now other than trying to stimulate protests?

Don't the Rovers board ever learn? It was obvious the bitter anti Rovers `Rovers supporters` would have a field day slagging them off again over this non event!. Definitely an own goal in my book.

Sorry really hate saying this but this to me sounds like an act of desperation. I honestly think that it is a ruse to make us complain and form action groups. Something is not right here. I want the UWE but if my theory is right it feels like a last ditch call to arms and not from a board that thinks it is a watertight contract. An OWN GOAL oh yes.

If NO protest groups come out in the next 24 hours. We may as well save our money in May. If there's no truth in small matters : will there be in big um's
