The fanbase is divided, always has been. Everyone wants the team to do well but there are 3 groups. 1. Those who know that the club has been mismanaged and criticise this mismanagement. 2. Those who think it's just pure bad luck that we are where we are. 3. Those who don't care and just want to watch football. What exactly does pointing out the failures of Higgs seek to conquer? It seeks to conquer the same as it achieves ... nothing. I think the point is that after 15 years of fruitless whining, group 1 is seriously pissing off groups 2 & 3. They can always just not read it - you don't hear me telling the Higgs fan club not to post.

Unity could and should be led from the top but unfortunately Higgs is, like most other things he dabbles with at the football club, incapable of achieving this.
He is slowly destroying the club but like always blames others such as Lennie and John Ward.
The sooner he f***s off the better.

When he did it he thought it was an investment because GD said so.... and we all believe him don't we ? Perhaps the "invisible" man would like to buy it of him ?

Don't worry about that, the Arabs are coming with a blank cheque soon. It would've been an investment too if any of them, Geoffrey included, knew how to run a football club. Imagine what Bury or Burton would've done with £5m.

iam fed up of hearing Sainsbury ,other teams etc etc we are on a fantastic run of form true fans support their team rise above and help turn adversity to something quite different and exciting lets believe and do it !! Back to the original post.
Some questions for you:
- Why is unity the key? I agree that support from the terraces can help a team, but all that will be worth sod all if the club ceases to exist. - What do you mean by unity? Your version of unity seems to mean supporting the board, as well as the team. Is it not possible to not be happy with the board, but support the team? - What difference does talking about Sainsbury's make to the short-term performance of the team? Why can I not be worried about the stadium project, but also support the team? Why am I not a true supporter if I'm worried about the effect that failure of the stadium project will have on the club? - In the same vein, what difference does talking about other teams make? - What am I to rise above? Why is the long term future of the club below the short term future? - What would you like me to believe? My belief system is evidence-based. - What am I to do?

I think most of it has been (or is being) capitalised so nil return. Most of us agree that it can hardly be described as an investment so perhaps the word "gift" might be more appropriate?

I'm sure you know exactly what he means but, for probably very good reasons, you aren't willing to support the current board. Lets not over analyse the situation eh?

Anyway, when some dude is talking smack and dissing my fanmanship, I'm gonna be asking questions. You get me?

"Some people always moan". We've gone from League 1 to the Confererence in 4 years, not 1 but 2 stadium schemes have hit the skids, and the club is still run like a circus. If you're not unhappy with that, you're part of the problem - just sitting back and being fed whatever you're given. Clarke and the players don't deserve criticism in fairness, they're doing a professional job, but if beating part time sides makes you happy then you've got very low standards for the club. As for our new poster's "folk who don't go to games" comment - people have all kinds of reasons for not going, don't be so crass. Plus you don't need a season ticket to work out that the last 5 years has gone wrong - tune into BBC1 after MOTD and notice that we're not on the Football League show, you happy clappy idiot. Actually I can remember 5 stadium schemes

Basically "the man in the know" changed his pseudonym and gas location (how original) when his bold "agent provocateur" predictions were seen to be false? Upwardly mobile via Forum pseudonyms . Forums - sad aren't they? He was never "in the Know" he just had a mate at the City planning department, and what do you do these days Vaughan, cannot be anything too taxing given you post on here during the day

So if Sainsbury's pay out say £6m in compo, Nick isn't going to repay himself?

But money that's been put in as capital isnt a loan.

Taking some time out in developing a new 70s retro-style night-club in Clifton called Platforum One. Just waiting on Bristol CC for planning permission (what could go wrong?) for the gaming lounge extension, where punters can take time out away from the multi-coloured dance floor to play Pong, Pacman and Space Invaders via Atari. VIP memberships available on request. Just PM me. Cool man.
