This weekend was a big day for them, it was the day they set a precedent for playing in red. Back to the matter in hand, it's criminal that the ground has only been developed out of the supporters pocket. The only development paid for by the club is the tent, that's been there for 16 years for Christ sake! Who paid for the wind break at the end of the stand so our seated supports did not get cold ?? I have a feeling that may have been paid for by Dennis Dunford once he had left the board. If not I stand corrected.

This is Bristol Rovers
Is anybody really surprised? We'll still be playing at The Mem in 100 years time!
There'll still be a s**t tent at one end
If The UWE doesn't come off them i'm going to walk away for good, I will have had enough of this absolute embarrassment of a football club

There's only so much lies, deceit, shame and embarrassment one can take
If Rovers was your wife, I am sure she would of been divorced years ago
I think Rovers are well and truly f**ked now

TBA I am completely fed up with whole sorry saga. It is unfortunate Box 1 have no money and no Plan B. We all know the courts, if they feel there is case to be answered will refer the matter to the High Court, this matter will drag on, and on, and on and we will still be at the MEM for the forseeable future. Its a shame; however, IMO opinion it is time for Higgs and Boycie to apologise to the UWE for wasting their time, settle a compensation claim with Sainsburys, tidy up the MEM and jog off into the sunset. UTG

The Board have been banging on for years now how the contract with sainsburys is water tight, i remember a cruiseliner that they said was unsinkabe, and we all know what happened to that ship :-)
but i do have some small glimmer of hope that they must be confident of victory to launch the challenge in the 1st place. why spend the thousand of pounds going to court unless you where sure the other side where going to cough up the fees at the end.
Sainsbury can't use the old well we have changed our plans now and no longer want to buy the site excuse, yes they have had a rethink about building so man stores as they are taking a kicking at the tills and aldi/lidal are taking shoppers away from them. that's not rovers fault is it.
best case scenerio is the judge rules in our favour tells sainburys to cough up the cash + compinsation, the diggers then get a ticker tape parade into the site by the jubilant fans and get on with the job of building the stadium.
worse case, the jusge looks at the contract, see sainsbury argument and laughs us out of court, and NH is left as a laughing stock and forced to resign(or is that a good thing lol)
either way we have to wait yet again for an answer

Dead right Dagnogo. Far better to just roll over and die. It's so much cleaner. Hoping we have the financial wherewithal to do this properly. They can afford to strung this out whereas I don't believe we can, that is unless we can get a legal team who are so strongly behind us, that they take pay when it's over. I so hope we can win this, it's about time we had some divine intervention on our behalf eh Brian

Whoever said we'd still be at the Mem in 100 years is an optimist.
We'll have to flog it at some point when the incompetents get us in yet another financial mess that they'll earn interest from.

UTG How about the contract Rovers have with the UWE ?? that is still binding and we have to start building within a certain timescale (5 years i've been told). If UWE pull out can we take them to court ?

I say well done NH and the Board for keeping going with this
Sainsbury's won't be enjoying this, and I think we're in with more than a 'puncher's chance'. But we'll see. There are plenty of other things that Sainsbury's aren't enjoying at the moment, so we won't be top of the pile

What we need is an Independent Supporters Association....
Bring back the Welly 3.
I have always maintained there will be some kind of hiatus in the future and an ISA is needed, but surely the interests of supporters need someone now to represent them (beyond the toothless 'directors'.)

Well I am hoping that there may still be a positive ending!
If we look at what has happened we have been dogged by bad luck as much as timing ....... stupid trash / change of shopping habits / change of CEO at Sainsbury but the biggest culprits are TRASH who but for their actions and ultimate delays we would already be starting the stadium - I personally will not forgive any of them and hope that some form of bad Karma affects them!
However IF the contract is watertight and we have as it appears met ALL the conditions in the small print then surely any Judge will not allow Sainsburys not to commit just because it no longer suits them commercially? Hopefully if he is in possession of ALL the facts and build up surrounding the case old he may side with 'the people' / relative 'minnows' and NOT the commercial giant?
One way or another in due course we will know whether the board have to their best of ability tried to deliver what we all want or if major shortcomings are shown to be true then they will have little alternative but to quit due to lack of credibility?
