Thought this deserved its own thread now it's gone public. Higgs may see compensation but you can put the pictures of the UWE with the ones of the revamped Mem, Severnside etc. Rovers taking Sainsburys to Court

Nothing to see, nothing to fear I hear them say
At least we are entering the end game one way or the other now
Best of luck Rovers. Think we need it

Dead right Dagnogo. Far better to just roll over and die. It's so much cleaner.

Not saying BRFC should give up but the chances of Higgs taking on a massive company, being offered a settlement, refusing it, and winning, therefore making Sainsbury's pay in full, seem slim.
They'll get some cash, and I think that's why they've borrowed a bit recently, but the stadium seems unlikely now.

Can someone contact the Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, Sun etc to publish this article as we need the maximum publicity.
They will "lap up" this type of story.

So, this is the final last chance, until the next one.

Sainsbury May not want to build there but plenty others do. This is all about compo and let Waitrose have the site at cut price

It was always going to be when rather than will it end up in the courts. I just can't believe what bad luck we have had over the years. There can't be many more teams that have failed with so many different new ground attempts. Surely we are due a huge amount of good luck one day after all the bad we've endured!

Disappointing that yet again we find out another staduim project as, in all lkelyhood, hit the buffers via the press, why couldn't the club informed us before the story broke??
Regardless it will be interesting to see how Sainsbury's are going to defend the action as sumply saying we don't now want to build is hardly going to impress the judge?

Fits well with the Rovers way this, still no new permanent stand paid for by the club since the Tote End.

I'm looking forward to the next ten years of tedious slog as we try to redevelop the Mem, against a backlash of local NIMBYs who suddenly decide that a big shop would be a better use of the land.

The thing is we've been at The Mem for 19 years now and the board have been lazy, never developed and actually let it mothball. We should have a new South & East Stand in place by now, then if the UWE had come up great but we'd still have a half decent stadium now. Instead board members for the last 19 years have done nothing and we're in the mess now.

What's the endgame here? Board get debts repaid and leave in single file?
I'd imagine the answer is a resounding "no", but I'd love to know if it's even possible to break even while stuck at the Mem, with no debt to service, if the wagebill isn't astronomic...

Was it that long a go the ball chasers went bust WOW They way they talk it was yesterday This weekend was a big day for them, it was the day they set a precedent for playing in red. Back to the matter in hand, it's criminal that the ground has only been developed out of the supporters pocket. The only development paid for by the club is the tent, that's been there for 16 years for Christ sake!
