Sorry, brother! I can't forget. I profoundly disagree. It's what helps me make myself blue. Respect to you, Rex. I'm in a different place.. That's more like it. Honesty is the best policy. Most on here can't stomach the pain of being so far behind City. Denial is the only way they can cope. City fans are so interested only because the Gas have fallen so far behind them in every way. They can't believe Rovers have provided them with a situation they had wished for but never thought would happen!! Hmm, what's that I smell?

On your own mate!
I will always hate them:
Burning our stadium Smashing up our ground every time we played them in 80s 90s etc when I was growing up Relentless spitting and coin throwing at us. Fickle fans expecting god given right to success. Threatening our players, chasing us off 96.
You other fans can play the "well their local football fans, like us" line, but the truth is they are nothing like us. Some clubs are just nasty and proud, like millwall. our downfall had its roots sown partly in their repeated acts of vandalism towards our property many years ago. That mindless savagery was all because we had the gall to beat them, over and over, just when we looked like we might be out forever. The spirit of rovers v city in the Twerton era to me, always seemed for a battle of good v evil. walking past the hate on the way to the family enclosure, or seeing the hoardings ripped up and thrown over as stewie banged in another - it was clear which club was the just David and who was the evil tyrant goliath!
My faith in the lord has been tested as He has seen fit to provide them a billionaire backer and us non league obscurity. The billionaire may actuallly have the money to purchase theIr way to the over inflated footbAlling ego they have nurtured. It's like a living nighmare.
Who knows how long we will remain in their shadow but I feel very sorry for older gasheads who might not have enough years left to see it reverse.
So in conclusion, I will always harbour hatred towards towards them. We have scores to settle.

Like someone said further up, I think I hate them more than I love Rovers these days, how sad.

Well I still hate City and always will! I really hope Swindon beat them to the title, they miss out on automatic promotion, and lose in the play-offs. Having said all that, none of it really matters a tenth as much as Rovers getting back in the Football League. I really think for the first time in many years we have a squad that works for each other and is proud to wear the quarters. If we can get promoted, I think we can follow other clubs who've gone up from the Conference and get a quick promotion to League 1.

I don't like them but I can't be arsed to hate them. Most of my mates and half my family are reds. You get good ones and bad ones.
People will talk about the scummy element of their support but they'll forget the GHS of old times and our more recent horse punching, police attacking, goalie punching "supporters".
I find their total obsession with us comical to be honest.

Even if we got close to playing them again, it would be just another match to win to me now

Nice one. I've been largely ignoring them for years, it makes for a much healthier mindset Ditto They are completely irrelevant to us. Not so sure about that. Maybe Higgs should take a look and see what to do when your original stadium plans fall out of bed?

My old man is a Sheedhead. So hate is a bit strong, I just settle on severe dislike/can't f***ing stand them.
The obsession is hilarious. As much as they love to claim we are nothing to them anymore, the infatuation is burning more than ever.
As a certain Johnstons Paint first round tie proved back in 2013!

A workmate in my past who went to football in the 50's & 60's said to me once.."in my youth it was not uncommon for a lot of bristolians to go to eastville one saturday and ashton the next"...how times change over the years.

I've never really hated them, couldn't ever see the point, but I do appreciate Dean Windass and take great pleasure in laughing at their obsession with us.

I hate them just as much as always. Them being 2 divisions above us doesn't change that- it just makes it a bit pointless looking out for their results when they are so far ahead of us.

It seems that some of them hate us actually....whilst watching the West Ham match, heard 'stand up if you hate the Gas' chant. That's assuming the Sh*t haven't got issues with their energy supplier?
I guess it's easier to stand up when you've been allocated more toes on the average foot..

Telford and their fans have been to both Mem and Trashton this season.. ??
