They are more obsessed with us than we are with them and that is fact! If you keep an eye on the bristol post comments on rovers stories you may find that they are more obsessed with us than we are with ourselves! I don't or can't do hate I just look at most of their fans ive had the misfortune to know and feel fortunate I picked Rovers as a kid. As a collective they are a totally different animal to us, they can't do humour in the way we do, they don't enjoy away days in the way we do, and they can't stomach defeat in the way we have had to, and they expect success. Barring one or two exceptions I generally can't stomach them.

One of the side effects of this season, where, hopefully, we have reached the nadir of our fortunes, is that I find myself increasingly ambivalent toward Bristol City. I still hope they lose every game of course, and will take great amusement in any future mishaps they may have, but I just don't loath them in the same way. Maybe it's because I feel that whatever may happen from now on, it won't be as bad as a possible 3 division gap and us being a non league side (it can't get worse can it?). In the past I have worried about City's results more than ours on occasion, looking out for their relegation/promotion rivals scores, hoping and praying that they fail, and being thoroughly pissed off at any success they may have. Yet here we are, them flying in League One, with a Wembley appearance on the horizon and a home tie against a Premier League team in the cup -I used to be ridiculously grumpy when they got good FA Cup draws in the past- yet now, I couldn't really give two hoots about it.
I really have enjoyed this season, us doing well, with a team of players who actually look like they give a f, great away days, and all the while not stressing out about how our local rivals are doing but still having a little smile to myself when things don't quite go right for them.
So there you go, it's out there, I don't hate them any more.
All together now
'If you all dislike Bristol City, all dislike Bristol City, all dislike Bristol City clap your hands' Sorry, brother! I can't forget. I profoundly disagree. It's what helps me make myself blue. Respect to you, Rex. I'm in a different place..

Respect to you, Rex. I'm in a different place.. That's more like it. Honesty is the best policy. Most on here can't stomach the pain of being so far behind City. Denial is the only way they can cope. City fans are so interested only because the Gas have fallen so far behind them in every way. They can't believe Rovers have provided them with a situation they had wished for but never thought would happen!!

'If you all dislike Bristol City, all dislike Bristol City, all dislike Bristol City clap your hands' Well Rex I'm shocked that an ex Whitfield School pupil has used the word nadir! Must be a first for that school . Apart from that pretty much agree with you. Still dislike and want them to lose every game but hate, probably not.
