It’s not about competing,it’s about who we are and what we can achieve with the resources we have, forget about Wednesday,Rotherham etc we’re BRFC like it or not a league one club at best but probably league two if being honest. And you are happy with that and think it’s acceptable? Because I’m ruddy well not. The stench of stagnation permeates throughout the club on a matchday right now. So have you go 50 million to build a new stadium? No not happy but it is what it is I’m afraid

We can’t compete with Rotherham over the last decade let alone Sheffield Wednesday. It’s not about competing,it’s about who we are and what we can achieve with the resources we have, forget about Wednesday,Rotherham etc we’re BRFC like it or not a league one club at best but probably league two if being honest. Rotherham in the decade prior to moving to the New York Stadium averaged a league position of 63rd or 19th in League One. Since moving in they’ve averaged a league position of 47th or or 3rd in League One. Rotherham aren’t some sort of third tier elite, they are a well run club with a tidy stadium that provides them with income away from football. That’s manifested itself in improved results on the pitch. If we can’t look at Rotherham as an example then we’ve huge problems.

What I find hard to take is that AFC Wimbledon who had their identity taken from them by the franchise who beat us Saturday, had to reform in 2002 but in less than 20 years they have managed to build & play in a brand new stadium, whilst Rovers when it comes to achieving something similar, appear to be treading in water.

There’s a club down the road formed in 1982 that has built a nice stadium.

At an open Day once Geoff Dunford said the DRI BUILD stand was going to be extended the whole length of the pitch and along where the South tent now is.When I enquired some time later (but not admittedly to GD),I was told it hadn't been worth the expense due to us moving to a new stadium-----That was 25 years ago...........and so it goes on and on and on.

It is a never ending saga, I think one day we will have to bite the bullet & say we’re going to make the best of what we’ve got. If finance could be found ,update the Mem in 3 phases without the need to move. Phase 1, move the pitch towards the Thatchers now the rugby have moved out & build a permanent south stand to join up with the west stand. Phase 2. extend the east stand the full length of the pitch, Phase 3, redevelop the Thatchers end. It may not when complete be premiership level but at least it would increase match day capacity & revenue, how we raise the finance is another question.

It's about time WAQ told us if we're still hoping to build a stadium at the Fruit Market.
A simple yes or no would be better than this silence.
Surely that would'nt break any confidentiality agreements?

Worry not.If Man City get a double relegation following today's news of a hundred alleged financial irregularities, they could be at the Mem in August.Need to extend the tents to cope with their visit.

All their supporters will be truly shocked by the improvements made since their last visit in 1999.

At least the pitch no longer floods, every time someone in the club shop accidently leaves a tap running.

We all want a new stadium 😊 promises have been made but never delivered and I don’t think they ever will so I just carry on going to the mem hoping one day a new stadium will await me 😂😂

Bristol council and south glos council are not like up north and the land and labour to build a stadium down this way is probably twice as expensive here. Building houses more lucrative than stadiums in and around bristol as you can see with all the new buildings going up.

Prices of materials are the same countrywide, there is no difference nor north/south divide where materials are concerned. Councils, however, are a totally different thing.

Forest Green Rovers have been boreing holes into the ground,to make checks for their new stadium.Another new stadium,as they only moved into their current home 'The New Lawn', in 2006.
So they've made a start.
