In my old company, whenever we wanted to launch a new product and have a logo designed we would give the brief to the local Colleges and let the students brainstorm as part of their classwork, we had some great results, we actually employed several of the young designers once they had finished their courses and this led to a great rapport with Brunel. Several times a year I would go to open nights to view the students projects, some of the work was amazing, and chatting with the staff opened other opportunities also, and it was free.

From the Rovers weekly email newsletter I received today. I noticed from a photo of the clubs kit changing room that they are using a skull with crossed sabres as a club logo, interesting!.

Oh no!
"The title Jolly Roger is thought to come from the French phrase "joli rouge" which means "pretty red". The original pirate flags were blood red rather than black and white and this signalled that no mercy would be given once the pirates boarded and battle ensued".

Nice behind the scenes video here. One of the proposed designs features a fair bit, as you say it's the skull and crossed sabres/swords - it's almost as if they'd made their mind up before starting the fan survey! One thing Tutts says I'm intrigued by, while stood in the tunnel: "... we're actually moving this season to what's going to become the Community Stand on that side." Community Stand?? Not the return of the infamous short-lived Family Stand, I hope!

A Jolly Rogered flag would be appropriate today.
