I think Joe B***** totally recognises that it's imperative for a fc to be a team.
On and off the field of play.
To sing from the same sheet.
He's achieved it and has built a strong foundation for Rovers to move forwards and upwards.
Fair play to WAQ for taking a chance on Joe and again when not sacking him after the Swindon Mem game.
We are in the bottom half of the 4th tier, but it's the most excited I've felt about our football club in years.
This team thoroughly deserves our support and I hope for a steady increase in Mem attendances in this second half of the season.
We're lucky. We have our El Presidente that apart from having a few bob,is prepared to 'try something different'.Eg,hiring Joe B*****. Rovers were stuck in a rut of averageness,we seriously needed something "different ".Something inspiring.
I think Joe is our best since Gerry and his Twerton heroes.
This is one of those Rovers era's to be enjoyed,I think more Gasheads are seeing this now and it'll show us how a football club is best run.
Enjoy it.đź‘Ť

I see very good signs, both in terms of the quality of players that he has brought in, and the players fight for the badge. I also see him as a manager improving also. But to suggest this is the most exciting period since 1990 given what our greatest manager ever did for us in DC only a few years ago is wreckless. I've got great hope in JB, but thus far he can't walk in DC shoes.

Joe has got that sorted at Rovers.👍

Going on his previous job then he can spend money and i just hope that doesn’t bring problems with it. I admire your loyalty but i feel a certain unease in the air. I can only write as i feel Basel. I certainly do not feel we will make play offs

When JB says “ now the clowns have cleared out of the club, that’s what they were” is he talking about Martyn Starnes or Clint Hill ?

When JB says “ now the clowns have cleared out of the club, that’s what they were” is he talking about Martyn Starnes or Clint Hill ? Those that sing from a different song book than JBs Swiss. The song still has that Gerry Marsden kind of lilt Bas but the words seemed to have changed today. For the first time ever JB is talking about developing young players, lamenting that in the past Aston Villa have snapped up our best talent and promising undisclosed improvements at the Academy. The cynic in me says this is because he wants to make one or two expensive signings and is paying lip service to Wael’s 2020 “vision” as part of his cajolery. Perhaps it’s more like a cook book than a song book with every page promising jam tomorrow.

It used to be the 'negligent' previous managers, now it's the 'clowns'. Song doesn't change

Maybe that's in part possible. What's actually so bad about it? Due to Alfie being injured and Cian being tactically dropped ,we had a back four with the average age of 20 and a half yesterday. He was asked about their inexperience and age post game. Is this what you are referring to? You imply JB is artful and WAQ naive enough to fall for his trickery. Hmm,yes,"cynical".

Yes I'm cynical Bas and mainly because of the timing of JB's comments quoted in the Bristol Post seven days before the window shuts. At Fleetwood JB gave a debut to the one academy product who has turned into a success but otherwise very few came through and none were sold for a profit during his time. His philosophy there was to bring in worldly wise players who knew the tricks of the trade and pay them well and this is what he is repeating at Rovers. But it didn't work at Fleetwood and I think the out of control wage bill was one of the main reasons he was fired. So why at this time, when asked to comment on Luca Hoole's performance yesterday, did he start to sound off about being "a shining light to the young people of Bristol" and about "development stuff" going on at the Academy ? And why now, when everything is apparently going so well at Rovers and we are all singing from the same song sheet, did we get the outburst in the Bristol Post about "clowns" ? The clowns (whoever they are) have gone so what was the point of bringing them up again when talking about the Swindon game ? I suspect he want to increase spending significantly and is becoming frustrated at receiving some resistance so he is letting off random shots across the bow in the hope of getting a result.

Now you may be right, part right or wrong Swiss, but without a 'body',you're a "Hunkeler" (Swiss tv detective), just snooping around. All dressed up and as yet at least, nowhere to go.

I would say that the responses to this thread prove that off the field we are definitely not all singing from the same hymn-sheet.
While some may be belting out All Things Bright And Beautiful, others are mumbling at the back that JB's reign feels like we're continuously In The Bleak Mid-Winter.
I don't think I've ever known the fan-base to be so split.
