You're thinking of Bull never scoring against us when Twentyman was playing, in 1993 when Bull scored Tillson was the centre half. He scored a ha trick against us Nov 92 at molineux in a 5 0 defeat Tillson and Waddocks debut I think

Wolves home. March 1993. 1-1 with Steve Bull scoring for Wolves and Boris Mehew for the Gas. Hooked ever since. I have to be honest and thought as much as I admired Steve Bull, I didn't think he ever scored against us. I'm thinking off top of head without consult of books or net so stand to be corrected.. You're thinking of Bull never scoring against us when Twentyman was playing, in 1993 when Bull scored Tillson was the centre half.

He might've beaten it if that header had been given! Did we have any at all last season apart from Harrison at Dorchester in the Cup? I think Ellis got three that day but we didnt have a hattrick at all in the Conference even though we scored seven v Alfreton they were spread around a bit. From memory Taylor only got one.or maybe a couple. and even Parkes got one too!

They got their success with short term money. Remember Fulham fans chanting "you'll never play us again" when they were on the up? Not sure they have the infrastructure in place to guarantee that. Would you like to be a Wigan fan now, Premium to league 1? and we are? a 4th divsion club with a clapped out stadium.Yep, I'd take League One and a nice ground. We have stagnated for years, blighted by a lack of leadership, investment and ambition.

Well said. Yes we need someone that can deliver the off the pitch things. Suppose that's the one thing NH said that we good, did not want short term investment. Not sure how much others agree not keen on the quick approach to success. Anyone want to be the next Fulham, Wigan and more significant Blackburn? Fulham have had years in the top fight and are currently in the Championship having walloped our beloved neighbours the other week. Wigan ,admittedly have fallen back to league One but have their name on the F.A.Cup and a lovely stadium to play in and Blackburn ,with the help of the best English centre forward since the war have the Premiership winners on their cv so yes,I'd gladly swap places with any of them.

Another poor home performance. A healthy near 6000 crowd were dished up the same drivel that had let down the Mem in previous games. I have to say apart from a penalty save versus part timers and one tonight from distance which he almost spilled, can anyone remember a save this clown has made? Everything just goes straight through him like he's not there. This keeper is a joke. We play two wingers, so a great idea is to hoof the ball bypassing them to the smallest bloke on the pitch.....Matty Taylor take a bow son, you were brilliant. When we have the ball, no movement. No one wants it. Except in defence when we're f ing around with it.. Lines 50% delivery hits the first man. For me, not a captain. Hanna Montana had Jake Gosling disease from Saturday. Why doesn't DC play 3-5-2 in second half with Leads overlapping? We looked awesome until Leads injury. Very poor overall display. Stevenage offered our mate Matt but little else. Well organised in defence and we had no questions to ask apart from a good save by keeps when Easter was put through....and we were rewarded with a goal kick. I'm sorry but near 6000 were let down tonight and it's only a matter of tome before loyalty dwindles too. Great turn out Gas, but there's only so long folk will put up with watching a re run of poor football with little to show for it, apologies from management and the same again because cr@p player are played again.. Rant over. Well said and totally agree. But are things any different as for the last 14 years we have never come to terms with the 4th division. Tippy tappy punchless football played by small gentle players. Clarke was quoted as saying we need to win ugly, well he got the ugly bit right! This really isnt good enough,we deserve better.

Nick Day invariably delivers a fitting speech. An intelligent and articulate man he captured the mood felt by all of us.

Wayne Carlisle always scored for us against Carlisle. Ian Stevens always scored against us for Carlisle. Lee Maddison played for Carlisle after us. John ward managed both teams. I can't think of any more!! Gordon Marsland played 62 games for Carlisle before Bill Dodgin paid £6,000 to sign him in the summer of 1969. Marsland scored 1 goal in 16 appearances in the 69/70 season before leaving to sign for Crewe on a free transfer.

Non league teams have been beating teams far better than us in the cup since the beginning of time, its not nice to be on the receiving end but we'll get over it. Our biggest low was dropping out of the league, that hurt, this is just mildly embarrassing

Young keepers will make mistakes as they're learning the game, old keepers will make mistakes as their reactions slow down. Mildy, sadly is the past, Nichols,Chapman,Preston etc are the future. Even our illustrious neighbours aren't immune to this.

Great he was.Played cricket for Glos.My first team ;Radford,Bamford,Watling,Pitt,Hale ,Samson,Petherbridge,Biggs,Bradford,Meyer and Hooper.Subs never existed then so if somone got injured they just stayed on in order to make someone mark them and thus tie up an opponent.Dai Ward,Ian Hamilton and Bobby Jones soon followed and in those days I saw us beat Liverpool at Eastville in the old Div2 (Now Champoinship) and saw Brian Clough score at the Muller Road end with a 40 yarder. Also saw Alfie Biggs score against us for P.N.E. Mine was: Nicholls,Bamford,Alcock,Pitt,Hale,Sampson,Petherbridge,Biggs,Bradford,Meyer,Hooper. All sadly gone now. Liverpool,Stoke,Sunderland,Ipswich we beat 'em all at Eastville!

I hear you loud & clear and I can empathise. So many projects down the drain and then, the unthinkable relegation to the non leagues. Please remember that NH has form on not telling us the truth and even to the point where many of us went to Whaddon road, when he already knew it was not going to happen. That one in particular is one I can't forget nor forgive. There are many other examples but I have promised myself not to get into that, it only serves to wind me up and I don't need that. It is very hard being a Rovers supporter. We must be masochists really but I hold onto the dream. That's my choice though and, quite rightly, you have yours. One can only take so much disappointment. I much prefer just turning up to games and trying to leave the politics alone. I've learned, the hard way, that getting the truth is never going to be easy. I would hope that most of us had aspirations of at least championship football though. I have lowered my expectations more than enough as it is. I did exactly that for many many years KP; pitched up, paid my entry fee, had a really good/bad/indifferent time of it by purely watching the game . . . and then went home and thought about something else. I can honestly say that I never gave a thought to the Boardroom or BoD, my only interest and concern was the team (and football) itself. The politics of it all never really entered into it. But I did enjoy reading about the managers of the day; Bert Tann, Fred Ford Bill Dodgin et al in the local rag. It was quite an eye-opener when I joined this forum to read some of the posts regarding the ''politics'' of the club, and to try and work out who did what, and when. By all accounts we almost had a military intervention at one point, but it all seems to me that it came down to ego's. Mine's bigger than yours, and so it continues Whatever happened to Douglas Mears-Milne by the way? I read about him once in the Evening World, or it could have been the Evening Post. He died about thirty years ago I met him once,he was a real gent.

It would be interesting to see the reaction on the forums if Mildenhall had been caught in no mans land like Nicholls did for Pompey's second goal? The big question is whether Nicholls is saving us more goals than a winger would create or striker would score on similar wages?? I sense Mildenhall will just sit on the bench and see out his contract, and who can blame him if he's not going to get a better contract elsewhere. I'm glad I'm not he only one who noticed this!
