Talking of creative midfielders , what is Alan Gow doing now a days . I thought this guy was a class act & if he would not had suffered that injury at S****horpe we probably would have stayed up. Still without a club but if we signed Gow or a similar player who would you leave out our Player of the Year so far, Sinclair, or our leader on the pitch Mansell? Although if he's fully fit is Gow worth either a short term contract, with a bonus if we get promoted, or even an appearance fee contract? Surely playing for Rovers is as good a shop window as he's going to get? ______________Puddy______________ Lockyer_McChrystal__Parkes_Brown ____Monkhouse_Mansell_Sinclair _______________Gow ___________Taylor___Easter Nobody misses out!

The atmosphere was dog s***. The ground was a shambles and I fear we'll be 8 points behind barnet after they beat southport next week Always is when we're in an open terrace. No surprise to me that it was quiet yesterday. Had our terrace had a roof, it'd have been a different story. As for them beating Southport next week, they'll be strong favourites for sure, but have you checked some of Southport's away results this season? Derby 1-0 Southport Kidderminster 0-1 Southport Woking 1-2 Southport Gateshead 1-1 Southport Nuneaton 2-3 Southport Braintree 0-2 Southport Grimsby 0-1 Southport They will be no pushovers for Barnet.

Excellent news. Now for LDV please. The squad Clarke is building will IMO not need much adding to next season when were back playing league footy. LDV isn't coming back according to James McNamara from the BEP.

Realised I put this in the highlights post by mistake Well put together high plights BTW. Dont know what happened to sound second half. Well despite all the chances you created we could have got a point. There were some controversial moments ie your second goal. Also whether you should have had a PEN or a red card. Could have been 10-1. Bad error from your goalie. Don't think your the best team Gateshead and Barnet both look better. Young didn't have his best performance but still a good player especially as he just came back from injury. Mansell got a good recetion and all he did was his wayward one touch passes. What's done is done see you at the memorial ground where hopefully we turn up as we didn't deserve a point from plainmoor (launa windows...) But nearly got one. Last point goodnight Irene is the most annoying chant of all and for 1200 away fans (always louder as everyone sings) you arent very loud Ah yes, you mean with all your experience of being in a 1,000+ Torquay away following?

Agreed.
And got to try and get the crowd excited and involved early on too, IMO.
It's been a little flat home and away this season, but it should be a decent sized crowd again tomorrow night and if we can get it rocking then it would be massive boost to the boys.

I will never accept Clarke after he got us relegated I just don't understand this mentality, personally. You will 'never' accept Clarke? So if we win the league this season, or even go up through the play offs, you'll want Clarke sacked? Right? Clarke made some mistakes towards the end of last season, but it was Ward managing for 95% of the season and Ward who put together the shower of tripe that Clarke had to manage for the last few games. It's a childish and counter-productive mentality you have IMO - but, of course, each to their own.

More of us than you'd think I'd say.

Harrison and Monkhouse up front would be my choice. Maybe we could try Taylor on the left side of mid-field so as not to hurt his feelings and upset DC too much. Martin has been a bit of a disappointment there. So in a 4-4-2 Mildenhall. Lockyer - Trottman - Parkes - Brown. Taylor - Mansell - Sinclair - Gosling. Harrison - Monkhouse. Anyway Up The Gas and 3 points for today please. I think both Martin and Gosling have been disappointing, seen flashes of their talent but not consitant enough, both tend to drift in and out of the game. Is that not true of 99% of wingers in lower league football though (and especially the Conference)? If they were any more consistent and produced for 90 minutes most weeks then they'd be playing higher up the pyramid, surely?

I would have him instead of Harrison for sure. I'm far from a big Ellis Harrison fan, but I wouldn't! The bloke can't walk his dog round the park without picking up an injury unfortunately. Harrison has the pace and power to be a handful upfront for us off the bench this season if his attitude is right.

Turley has passed his medical and the announcement that he has signed is imminent I hope this is correct. Would be a great signing.

www.stroudnewsandjournal.co.uk/sport/11354408._/?So that's Lee Hughes and Jon Parkin leading their front line this season who have scored about a million goals between them at a lot higher level than us. But hey they might not have joined FGR for the right reasons so why should we worry. We will show them who the big boys are on 25th August, wont we? Wont we? Well done Higgs & Co you look to have the rest of the division on the run already, cant wait for the humiliation to start. Couldn't agree less. Overpaying hasbeen journeymen like Hughes & Parkin is a very large part of the reason we're in the mess we find ourselves in. They're the type of signings we WOULD have usually made, but have finally changed our approach. It's not about who has the biggest 'names' in the squad (or in Parkin's case, belly). It pains me to see that some of our fans still would like to see us take this approach, despite the fact it's got us absolutely nowhere when we've tried it over the past few years. Thank god we're going for young and hungry players like Taylor and White over FGR's new buys.

Trotman, Higgins & a targetman on loan will probably be the final 3 signings. I'm assuming you think we'll be playing 3-5-2 this season then? We need another winger if we're going to be playing 4-4-2 IMO, only have Monkhouse and Gosling (DC sees Harrison as a striker). If we are going to go with wingbacks then I agree with your signings.

Now for two wingers ,a striker and sign Higgins and that will be avery reasonable squad for this league. Roll on August 9th. I think we'll get a ST, winger, CB (Trotman?) + Higgins.

Nah. Not for me.
A CB with a bit of pace would be a useful addition, IMO.
Not a carthorse like Coles.

Hi guys, was I was miagsygas on the old OF, took a little break from posting on the forums over the summer, helped take my mind off Rovers during the relegation actually. Anyways, i posted the picture above onto TFF earlier tonight. Two posters thought they recognized the player far left, identified as either Nathan Arnold or Ashley Hemmings. To me, it looks more like Nathan Arnold. I'll write later if anyone comes up with more names. Edit: Apologies, wrote far right of the picture in the first post, meant to say far left of the picture. A user on a different site (not a Rovers forum) reckons it's Nathan Arnold. Any chance you can you provide a link?

Haven't seen a bad report on him from a Salisbury fan as of yet. All very positive and complimentary about Sinclair.
All in all, the comment from someone on this thread that his signing represents a "new low" for the club looks both premature and embarrassing.
