I don't really get the point of this?
I don't care if he carries on playing 4-4-2 next season or whether he plays 4-5-1, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2 or a diamond midfield, so long as it's successful.
I also don't believe that you can play the same way every game and expect to never have to change/be forced into changing your style of play.

Oh and fair play to Worcester for not giving it up, totally dead and buried with minutes to play. That must have been some pressure on the chap who kicked for promotion at the very end. Promotion coming down to one kick you say? Imagine that!

Everyone and his Dog thinks LEADBITTER should be in the team! So why did Clarke constantly leave him out?? His "Not enough experience" doesn't wash. But surely his 'promoted at the first attempt' does?

Just hope Easter is fit.Dreading he'll become another Ryan Brunt. Would you start him on Saturday even if he is? I definitely wouldn't. Bloke is made of glass and can't be anything like fully fit.

If harrison would have started most games all season and he had hit 25 goals by now, given his age then someone like POSH would have bid £300k for him. That's how it works. However, we chose not to play him and we neither got the goals or the potential transfer value. Stupid I'd say. There is no guarantee whatsoever that this scenario would have happened had he started most games from the start of the season. He may not even have as many goals as he does now if he'd been playing from the start of the season?

Dartford away won't be an easy game on their pitch, either.
It might not be as bad as when we played there, but it's still hardly gonna be a carpet.

That line up would get demolished on Football Manager, let alone in real life. That midfield is horrendous! Although, actually not too far from the team that finished the match against Halifax. Exactly, it's a 'nothing to lose' line up - not one that any manager would ever start a game with.

I'd like to see this against Macclesfield or Alders***: Mildenhall Leadbitter Parkes McCrystal Brown Lines Dawson Balanta Taylor Easter Harrison That line up would get demolished on Football Manager, let alone in real life. That midfield is horrendous!

I agree with the OP and I think it's down to a few things:
1) The average age of our away support does seem to be higher than ever this season. You look around at away games and there are more grey heads than anything else, and this is bound to have an effect on the noise levels from the away end. Blame us being in this league for that one.
2) We do desperately need some new songs/chants. Ours all feel outdated and boring after years of singing the same old stuff, and I believe a couple of new catchy chants would breathe some life back into the support.
3) It almost feels like relegation last season has sucked all the vocal support out of our followings. No one can seem to be bothered to sing at games anymore. The excitement and buzz at an away game doesn't seem to be there this season.
However, a couple of other points to make:
Firstly, Grimsby do seem to have great support, but who's to say that they weren't exactly like us in their first year down here? They've had a long time to get over the disillusionment and probably accept where they are now more than we do.
Secondly, I don't agree with some people who have said that the atmosphere makes no difference to the fortunes of a team. But, I reckon it's only a small difference, maybe 1 or 2%, and if your team is 5%+ worse than most other teams in the league, then of course having good support alone won't save a team from relegation?

I don't think Mansell's chance near the end was as guilt-edge as it looked from the away section.
I couldn't believe he hadn't scored from our view at the time, but watching it back on the highlights it doesn't look as much of a sitter tbf.
I do wish it had been Easter with that chance, though!

Good post LP and agree with most of it, but I thought that Lines dropping a bit deeper and collecting the ball to feet from the defence actually helped us supply the attackers yesterday?
The equaliser was set up by Lines doing that and playing a killer ball over the top from deep. One of his main assets is also picking up the ball and driving through the opposition's midfield, which you'd lose from his game if he was higher up the pitch to start with.

After we looked lightweight in midfield on Saturday i think the midfield will be beefed up, and if another player does come in, it could well be a big physical player. I'm glad we have a manager who will play 2 up front every week, so in order to pack more bodies into the middle of the pitch i can see 4-3-1-2 or 3-5-2 being used in the last 8 games. I agree. Especially on Saturday with Halifax being a big, physical, direct side - I can see 3-5-2 being used. _____________Mildenhall____________ ____Trotman___McChrystal___Parkes Leadbitter____________________Brown ________Lines__Lockyer__Mansell ___________Taylor____Easter Not sure where that leaves Dawson, though.

Wouldn't it be funny if neither us or Barnet went on to win the league now. not really. Oh come on, you're telling me that after all the willy waving from us and (more so?) them, it wouldn't be the slightest bit amusing if Grimsby or Macclesfield left us both with egg on our faces? I'd certainly laugh after I finished crying.

A player like oster at Grimsby would be perfect Gateshead? Agree he looked class at the Mem, but not going to happen IMO.

700 sold. Pretty poor really Hardly. IMO a perfectly respectable amount to take to Dartford on a freezing day in February, having taken 2,000+ away a fortnight before.

Yes.
Even if Sinclair is back fit for Saturday, a longer term injury to either him or Mansell and we look very weak in that position, IMO.
