Maybe he's going for that Goodwillie bloke Raith just released. Right up his street that. Ugh, don't even joke about it!

Our court correspondent, Angas, failed to mention an interesting aspect of the first Sheffield case. One juror had to withdraw due to illness. There was a second withdrawal that was described as juror indisposed. In reality, this was a lady who fell asleep during the case and was removed. Classic! Have you ever done a stint as a juror ? I can tell you its really very dull indeed and even , i suspect, younger people would feel like a nap 😂. If not for the juror next to me then i think i was on my way to a Homer Simpson drool and i was lucky the judge didn’t see When I was 18 I sat on the jury in a particularly grisly and unpleasant GBH with intent case, a real blood on the ceilings of several rooms type affair which was complete with an interesting backstory and my God it was so slow, it was exhausting to stay awake. It was reiterated to us numerous times by the jury bailiff not to fall asleep. It lasted three and a half days but in my memory it went on for months! So, I can fully understand jurors who fall asleep!

Uncle Eppers doesn't know what horn-rimmed glasses are. Look up the adoptive father of that cheerleader in Heroes. Joey B*****'s glasses aren't horn-rimmed. They're knob filled. Edit: Noah Bennet. www.google.com/search?q=noah+bennet+heroesYou're welcome. Not meaning to nit-pick (or miss the point) but those are browline glasses re. the fella from heroes. Though I agree with the sentiments regarding B*****'s glasses.

I thought some of you might enjoy this...
Welcome to the all new EFL Trophy*, Sheffield Wednesday!
*y'know what was the Sherpa Van, the Autoglass, the trophy giving 3rd and 4th tier clubs a potential day out at Wembley, now polluted with top flight U21s! (Though the less said about the '82ers record in the competition the better!)

Just wanted to add that for me, personally, putting my support of Rovers on hold has nothing to do with B***** having criminal convictions. It's to do with his continued violent behaviour and where that sits with my own morals and values.
In the early 2010s when he became the darling of the media who presented him as a reformed character and working class hero with his pithy social media posts, philosophical musings and TV appearances, yet violence still followed him around which has always suggested to the cynic in me that B***** had just become a better manipulator!
Using Adam Smith as an example, while I wasn't comfortable his previous behaviour prior to joining Rovers, I have no issue with consenting adults famous or otherwise making sex tapes however Smith's and his teammates' video was racist and disrespectful. They were duly punished and as far as I aware none of them have committed any misdemeanours since.
As I've said since his 'reformation' B***** has continued to commit violent acts.
On lighter note, Adam Smith isn't the only Rovers porn star, we had Liam Lawrence too!

Bitterly disappointed!
As I've already said, I'll be taking a hiatus as a Bristol Rovers supporter until B*****'s gone. I cannot morally continue to support the club. It's especially disappointing as I've lived in three other cities but I've never felt an affinity with another team!
It's not so much I feel B***** is a dickhead, I can cope with a dickhead being in charge of the club. It's not even that I feel he's a bit of a psychopath (as well as a narcissist, schmoozer, cringe-worthy pseudointellectual...). Put simply, it's his violent temper and behaviour that appear to remain unchecked. I believe in second chances but as other users have pointed out in this thread B***** has had many and he still appears to be unreformed.
Despite not contributing much I've really enjoyed been part of this forum, especially, during our one season stint in non-league. I lurk most mornings for my Rovers news. I'll remain a member but I won't be back 'til B*****'s gone (and maybe even Wael, such is my disappointment right now).
I remember a conversation with Barnsley fan on the train after Lee Johnson joined City. We got on to the subject of who would stop us supporting our club, I had four: Roy Keane, Steve Evans, (self-confessed fascist and Mussolini admirer) Paolo Di Canio and Joey B*****.
In spite of my feelings regarding the appointment, I wish Joey B*****'s Bristol Rovers no ill will, I'd hate to see Rovers as long-term 4th tier strugglers again.
Gutted!
Lastly, speaking of readers of the Guardian, I used to see Nigel Pearson most mornings at Sheffield Station he'd breeze through nodding good morning to everyone with The Guardian tucked under his arm. I chatted with him a few times about music: Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Kid Creole and The Coconuts..., always seemed a decent guy, he had something of a military bearing and oozed that central defender confidence, I'll be gutted if he joins City.

Well we can now look forward to being known nationally as Joey B*****'s Bristol Rovers... FFS!!!
I say 'we' but once it's confirmed I'll be taking a hiatus as a Rovers supporter after nearly 40 years. I won't list the reasons I'm morally averse to B***** joining the club as most have been covered several times in this thread but needless to say I feel they're enough for me to put my support of Rovers on hold.

DC is now favourite at Rovers, Northampton and Vale I don't bet so I'm not sure how relevant any of this is... EDIT: FFS Joey B***** is back as favourite! (Lockdown, eh? I'm sitting at my computer refreshing Manager odds - I need to get out! )

Commentator is terrible. Bring back Ed Hadwin really showed his knowledge of Rovers when he said that Anssi is under pressure for his place from van Shotstopper At least he didn't refer to us as 'Bristol'. (A small mercy!)

If you're listening to Rovers at a computer you can enjoy watching Taylor's Man City stuffing City live on the FA Player. 6-1 to The Citizens, right now. FA Player
