Rovers at Portsmouth, v Millwall (who had had their ground closed for fan misbehaviour). I had forgotten that one, In a similar vein didn't Manchester United have to play at Plymouth once? I have a memory of them having to play a certain amount of miles away from Manchester and Plymouth being one of the few grounds that fitted the bill.

Apart from Twerton, Wembley and the Millenium, I can only think of the 2 Charlton ones and Rotherham at Don Valley in the UK and I also saw Real Madrid v 1FC Cologne at Cartagenas ground about 20 years ago.
Edit: I suppose if we are counting Rotherham at the Don Valley, I also saw us play Brighton at the Withdean.
2nd Edit: And Rovers playing at home at Ashton! ( we did also play a home friendly v Real Oviedo at Yeovil, but I wasn't at that one)
3rd edit! Seen a few at Hampden which doesn't really count, but I have seen Celtic play a home European tie at Murrayfield and Spurs play a home game at Wembley.
And another! Wimbledon at Selhurst Park.
There are a few I can think of that I didn't see
Bournemouth at Dorchester Brighton at Gillingham East Stirling at Stenhousemuir Edinburgh City at Spartans Celtic at Hampden (seen them there plenty of times but not when it was their 'home' for a season) Newport at the Spytty and Moreton.

"Graham Coughlan has quickly shut down the transfer rumour doing the rounds in Scotland that Bristol Rovers are interested in signing Rangers’ teenage winger Josh McPake on loan. The League One transfer window remains open until September 2 and Coughlan is known to be in the market for a speedy wideman. With little money to spend, the Irish manager has made no secret of the fact that any additions to his squad would likely have to be a loan deal, and players will probably have to exit his squad to make room. Asked whether he was in for McPake, the Irish manager responded in complete shock at the question. He replied: “From Rangers? Rangers? Are you actually telling me I am going to be signing a Rangers player? If he was from Celtic I might think about it. " .... I kid you not. Post journalists resort to the transfer rumour sites for a story nowadays. Quite right too

He is in a job where usually by the age of 35, your career is over. The days of Stuart Taylor are gone. Matt wanted a better life and a more secure future. He did what countless others have done. I agree with the sentiment : if I was offered 3 or 4 times the salary I’m sure that I’d go too! I think the issue many have with him was the MANNER of the move: that ‘behind the scenes’ video of him signing - designed to rub our noses in it!), and joining in and playing along with Bristol Sports’ obvious mocking of the Rovers over the move (he could have opted to request that the transfer was handled with dignity), including having a laugh at Rovers’ expense with their ‘Champagne moment of the season’ award etc. Has he acted with respect and dignity then I think the reception wouldn’t be as bad. As it was he seemed to revel in the piss taking and mockery of the Gas that followed the move.Everything RG2 said x 10.

Wonder who will take the biggest away support , the s*** tomorrow or the gas next Saturday. Great opportunity to put one over the sad b******'s. Surely they should take 3 times more than the gas on past home attendances.I bet it won't be far off that.

You will have a great time I'm sure. More importantly, have you any idea where I can find out the attendance for Dorking v Hamel Hempstead tonight? None of the sites I can find show attendance figures. 694 according to Dorking’s twitter. Thanks, I did try Twitter, f**k knows why but I seem incapable of finding that tweet, in fact I rarely find info that I am looking for on there. I'm obviously doing something wrong!

"It’s a billion times better than UWE." Why? Unless you live near the Fruit Market I can't see how it's a better site as unless you use public transport to get to the Mem already then it's a pain of a site to get to by car. Plus it's hardly within walking distance of our present catchment area so most fans will have to travel by train/bus/car to get to the ground. The UWE has to share facilities with the university. I don’t want a load of twats moaning about Jacob Rees mogg and abolishing poverty anywhere near my bevloved team! North Bristol, that part by abbey wood, is a horrible soulless place. It’s wide open spaces with no character. There’s literally nothing there. All post war built stuff other than Frenchay. I find it utterly depressing. At least at the fruit market there are some solid Victorian and 30s estates which have a bit of history and aren’t just purpose built retail and office units. Plus, the traffic there is possibly the worst place in Bristol. I’ve spent most of my life commuting to north Bristol to see the rovers, it’s no problem. The mem is better than UWE. I’d take either, but I never wanted the UWE. It reeks of desperation to go in with a uni. There literally is.

1. Bristol Rovers are an east Bristol club, not a north Bristol club 2. The site is closer to our spiritual home, which is Stapleton road, than our current stadium. 3. Its in a superb location - close to the railway, central and closer to motorway than BCFC and the men 4. It’s in an area of regeneration with the paint works and newly affluent Brislington round the corner 5. The site is compatible in size to our current site and Ashton gate 6. You don’t need independent units to build amenities. The thing about massive stands, is that they’re not build out of solid concrete and you can build quite a lot inside one if you’re clever about it 7. The area is covered with old lumber yards and industrial units which are the cheapest you can possibly buy. It wouldn’t be unthinkable to buy a nearby site to expand parking etc 8. There are no real local residents and those that are very close aren’t tree hugging intellectual eco warriors like on Gloucester Road 9. It’s no more prime real estate than anything else within a radius of Bristol centre 10. It’s a billion times better than UWE. I actually agree with all of that (other than Brislington being 'newly affluent') Still won't happen though.

This all seems very strange to me. If you really did intend to build a new stadium you would hold a press conference showing all of your pretty pictures of it along with a q&a session with all of the experts involved with the project. The city council would certainly want to comment on the plans in front of them. The rumours were that a new consortium had come up with this idea so has Wael adopted it and going it alone? Oh well, it will keep some happy for a couple of years I guess. Starnes and Wael deep in conversation. Starnes: Wael - you've said nothing since February. Nothing. You can't just expect people to believe that we're working hard behind the scenes, just because you said so 6 months ago. Wael: But what can I say? Starnes: Say you've identified a site. Give no detail around it and hope that gives you another 6-9 months breathing space. Wael: But where? Shall I say "UWE" again? Third time lucky? Starnes: No - I think they've rumbled us on that one. There were some rumours about the old fruit market that we leaked a few months back. Inaccessible, expensive land. But just say that. Wael: FRUIT MARKET. Starnes: No, not to me. To 20man. Wael: Gotcha. Starnes: Brilliant. Job done. Give 'em a vague update just before Christmas and we'll be in 2020 before you can say "credible stadium plan". I did literally 'LOL' to that one

Well, that’s the best stadium I’ve ever been too. Admittedly not my favourite but by far the best. Unreal. Are you talking about my impending visit to Dorking ?

Off to Spurs tomorrow but more importantly plotting has started for a trip to Argentina and Uruguay. Looking to do the likes of Boca, River and Penarol. Nothing firm yet but it is happening which, is exciting. Now I am envious. I will do Spurs at some point but I have always wanted to visit South America. My dad lived there for a bit after the war, he was in the navy and back then if you fell ill you had to try and get treatment locally and then just wait for the next time the ship visited that port again! Still, Dorking Wanderers v Hemel Hampstead Town for me on Tuesday

I thought we were the better side in the first half and played reasonably well, but playing with one up front means you really do have to take your chances when they come along. When Little got forward he chucked a few decent crosses in, now all we need is someone to finish them off! I guess my point is, JCH apart, we've had a this calendar year to rearrange our strike force, all pre season and matches, then we start our campaign with a debutant loanee up front on his own. How many set pieces yesterday? Loads of free kicks and corners....did we threaten? At least once? No... Most were gobbled up by their keeps or easily dealt with by their defence. I just think GC got it wrong. Then when you want a goal out of nowhere, you bring on Nichols.. I went for a long p!ss after that. Game over. As you say, there were plenty of set piece opportunities which we did not take advantage of, which as I said in my original post, you really have to make the most of if you are playing with one up front. I think we need to start working on set pieces pretty damn quickly or play a more attacking formation. My guess is that GC's preference would be for the former.

I don't know where this story started but I would like to state that as usual Helpline continues and in fact signed up new members on the Open Day. It really does not help the Club at all to undermine efforts such as Helpline. Martyn Radnedge Helpline Chairman I don't understand that at all. In the first line he says that he doesn't know where the story started, in the second he seems to confirm that it happened and accuses the club of undermining his scheme. I think you misread that- unless of course you are being facetious Edit: Actually, re-reading it I see what you mean, although I read it as the poster intended (I think!)

Changing from Screen Soccer is fine, if Rovers think they can get a batter service elsewhere, then that's just business.
However, dispensing with Screen Soccer's services by email is shoddy and gutless.

Hang on, before we all start shooting each other, what officially has happened? How do we know there aren't any interfering 3rd parties trying to change agreements? How do we know there won't be an agreed transfer at a later date? You're absolutely right of course, forums and social media does lend itself to people flying off the handle without knowing the facts. However, experience suggests that, when it comes to Rovers, they're probably right to be a bit 'ranty'.
