Eh? Do you mean so distanced that only season ticket holders can attend? I think it's been suggested that in order to reduce infection rates/recognise social distancing rules and facilitate contact tracing it is likely that attendance at sporting events will initially only return in a very limited way. In which case the natural solution would be to restrict capacities, enforce social distancing and only allow season ticket holders in. Personally, I think it's pie in the sky because I don't see how even that could be done in a way that would be consistent with any form of social distancing. Not to mention that some clubs would obviously have far more season ticket holders than others etc. But there does seem to be some evidence that sports authorities are thinking along these lines. For example, it has been suggested that County Championship cricket could return in August with Members being allowed to attend the games. Seems like a unique case to me with all kinds of issues in itself but if it goes ahead then I'm sure others will be thinking about how to do this. Agree. How the heck do you enforce social distancing on terraces? Do we all have to stand in one spot and not move...? Do we all have to fill the terrace from one end only so that we don’t close in on other people trying to get to our “spot”along the terrace? So many ifs, buts and maybes its just not feasible in my view. Either we are all vaccinated against it ( in which case wait another season or two) or we all pile in and hope for the best (hmm!). Not sure what could work between those two scenarios tbh. But I’m willing to listen to suggestions....

The only way you'll see Rovers next season is by being a season ticket holder. Eh? Do you mean so distanced that only season ticket holders can attend? ST holders are exempt from catching CV19.

How will we eat our Pasties? I thought we stopped selling hot food many months ago, drinks only the sign says at every game? What’s that I’ve been eating at the games (until Lockdown) then? Maybe I don’t want to know.....😳!

this appears to be very very good news - but let's just remember the Rovers motto boys and girls, 'I'll believe it when I'm sat in it'Absolutely. However, I am hearing from people on the contracting side of things, it's a goer. Very pleased if this is the case, but it being Rovers, I can't help but wonder where it will go wrong! The arrival of Santa’s Grotto maybe.....🤪

May I recommend that if its a bit of video you are after that you look on You Tube at Flocke Yoga. It is absolutely amazing what this lady does with her body (with her clothes on I must add...well almost on!) All legit but not good for those of a certain age tbh! (ie - if you have a pulse..) So many great videos on YouTube. Stupid people doing stupid things is always good. Got to say BG this ain’t either of them.....🤓😜

Anyone got a clue what this thread is all about? Nobody knows, just write some old rubbish and see if you can start an argument. Some old rubbish.

I think I just may have watched 'In Which We Serve' a few too many times Many years ago I was sat in a bar in 'Honkers'. The chap next to me, an older fellow who said he was a civil servant, starting asking us where we were from and if we'd been to Hong Kong before. When we told him where we'd travelled he replied, without a trace of irony, 'ah, first time East of Suez then, eh?' It's a lost world, I tell 'ee Hmm...whenever I was sat in a bar in Honkers the person sat next to me kept saying they love me long time. Do you think it was a different bar? I'm pretty certain she wasn't a Civil Servant either. Ah...the perks of serving your country and seeing the world at taxpayers expense! Did love that place though......went there several times and would go back in a heartbeat if I could.

Latest estimate (from BBC news) is that vaccine unlikely to be mass produced until later on in 2021......going to be a long haul back to getting people into any sort of sports stadium any time soon.

Nadine Dorries, who works in Matt Hancock's health dept, tweeted earlier that lockdown in some form will continue until vaccine is found, so that most likely means no spectators at football matches for a year. Yes. We might not like it but it does make logical sense. Why go to something and catch something for which there is no vaccine or remedy. UTG! I can see no logic in spending weeks (months?) in this lockdown telling everyone to distance themselves to slow down/prevent this virus from spreading and then with nothing in place like a vaccine or mass testing just randomly letting thousands of people stand next to each other to start spreading it all over the place again.....who would want to go in those circumstances anyway?

Not sure how you can have any attendance at a football match, or indeed any other sport stadium, whilst the social distancing rules are in place. One rule in the ground and another outside the ground. Hmm..... And I don’t see anything in the pipeline, either testing or vaccine, that is going to go anyway to reducing or removing those guidelines any time soon.

If you had to nominate two posters most likely to turn a 'just for fun' thread, into a discussion on social history. I think Oldie and Bambi would be most people's favourites Be gentle Rex, one day you'll turn into that old bloke who sits in the corner of the pub, sipping from one pint all evening and moaning relentlessly about how much better things used to be. Sure we all had nits and scurvy, no running water and we lived under a dead dog in the gutter, but it was our dead dog, and we were happy. Aye...and I bet you all used to huddle around a packet of extra strong mints to keep warm. Them were the days....😀

For me, I can not see how any “contact” sport could be resumed with the current”social distancing” rules being still in force. Would be a really mixed message that one. Especially as one of the dangers that has been discussed is getting cases going down due to the current restrictions then having them relaxed/reduced and then case numbers going back up again. It’s easy apart from that.... Renewing a season ticket is about supporting your club now so it is around come August when things resume that's five months away so the current problems will be a distant memory and chip paper. Come on support those who entertain us for nine months of the season Distant memory in August.....hmm! Can I borrow them rose tinted glasses you’ve got on?

Gas have just got a last minute winner over City at the UWE Stadium - Goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh shi# it was a dream, now back in a place the world has never been to before. I have been and got a sunday paper, its more doom and gloom. You only have to go back a week or so and life seemed almost normal, take last saturday afternoon me and the toteend4 went into town for a birthday session, i tried to avoid handshakes etc , and offered up my elbow - no chance it was handshakes all round , and one dirty bu##er even licked my hand! The pubs were full of hen parties and we had a right old 'knee's up' even the football was predictable with the Gas losing to bottom of the table team at Southend. Walking the streets today there is a palpable sense of fear in the air - where am I going with this? I don't know - i guess what iam am trying to say is, as none of us had to fight in WW2 This is our chance to show courage and leadership, for the sake off all our family and friends. So Stay Strong Stay Safe we all have to get through this! UTG / SSSS Interesting what you say. Due to time on my hands I have been doing some thinking with my little grey cell. Not so much about the “medical” side of this which has been/will be done to a frazzle over the next few weeks. But what about the “social” side of the effects of this thing. Due to the changes in our habits and social interactions we are going through at the moment how much will transfer over when this subsides? Will we remain wary of social contact a bit more than previous to CV? Will we travel as much? Don’t know the answers, suspect no one does. But changes I think there will be, even if subconsciously.

Perhaps he wanted to see those on the pitch, to see what they can do. Perhaps those you mentioned have knocks. Perhaps did not want Southend to see these players. All I know is, I don't know. All I know is I didn’t know you didn’t know.😳
