See DC is in the paper today saying we haven't clicked at the back yet. Glad he doesn't come on here saying that or he'd get slaughtered

We are playing two divisions above where this team started and with Clarke-Salter out and James Clarke injured then the only other option in the squad was Connor Roberts which would have mneant one of the other loanees not being to be able to be in the squad. I do feel constant changes of the defence have not helped but yesterday the result was down to one refereeing decision. I agree the goals were poor from a defensive viewpoint but praise must be given to the clinical finishing which if we had we would now be top of this division! Thought we had 6 loanees in the squad & you can name 5 in the match day squad. Or am I mistaken (quite likely)?

Only been there once September 2011 and had a great day. Admittedly that was only because I got the driver to drop me at Heathrow so I could fly to New Zealand the next day, the game was absolute dross losing 4-1. Can't ever imagine wanting to go back again.

Enjoy your day in Portsmouth next week and the 16000 crowd. Is that nice enough for you Mike? Thanks bambi I am actually avoiding the big queues at the Mary Rose never knew that was so popular and instead being treated on my birthday to four days in Gran Canaria ...sun and sangria with my wife far more attractive than a meaningless cup tie. You enjoy the delights of Fratton.
Many Thanks for the birthday card and for the Bruce Springsteen new book.
Too late to join the boycott now you scab

It is a short career with limited opportunities to earn the same or similar money once you stop playing. Those are the facts and the sensible players look to maximise your earnings. Personally I've entered a career path that will allow me to maintain similar earnings throughout my career but I'll still look to maximise my earnings by changing employers. You seem to want hark back to the days of the minimum wage and players tied to the same club for life. Times have changed. Following your logic though once a team is relegated you would play the next season with the same crap players that got you relegated because obviously loyalty would be a two way street? No, no and no. If I was part of a team that made a mess of a project I would ask if my employer wanted me to assist with trying to put it right. If my employer wanted to get rid of me without good reason I would just move on, no thumb sucking or tribunals, it would be between the (ex) employer and his/her conscience. All I would do is find a way to earn more or do a job that I found more rewarding. If I was an employer I would exercise due diligence before handing out 3 year contracts on 3 grand a week to washed up journeymen. I may even take advice from people in the same industry I see what you're saying if you've stuffed up and realised no-one else is going to want you you would ask your employer to keep you on. Makes sense so the employer gets left with the crap whilst the employable people move on. Think that pretty much sums up what most relegated teams get stuck with.

No, you're right Mike replying with stats to a persons death was spot on. Dave
I am asked to write obituaries for former Rovers players over the past 30 years and try my best to be as accurate as possible. In this case you keep banging on about I just made the point that the guy had not made a first team appearance and no stats were mentioned whatsoever.
Not sure why you feel it right to keep having a go....just leave it. You are making yourself look foolish. You and whoever County guy is you both just seem to want to focus on negatives. It is not big and certainly not clever. A sign of immaturity to me but no doubt you two get pleasure from it. Listen life's too short believe me. Move on please

Though I should've added a good point about Bolger gettng injured, hence why a player should look after himself first because you can't rely on a club to do it. A good reason for Michael Smith to leave jump 2 divisions & undoubtedly increase his earnings in what is a short career. Again, I don't really get this 'short career' line. Are footballers banned from ever working again when they stop playing? It's not just Smith, it happens all over the place every year, teams get relegated and the players who have been part of making it happen run away, well, that's between them and their conscience, all I can say is that I wouldn't do it and I have nothing but respect for the players who stayed when Smith abandoned ship. Tom Lockyer, McCrystal, Tom Parkes and probably a few others could have got other League clubs, some do, some don't, but that's just life isn't it, some people you know will always have your back, some won't. If you didn't know that he was at Fleetwood then you would have been unlikely to find out from Nick Day's mumbled and hurried team announcement. 02. No, he wasn't 'our player', but that didn't help him much when he did his cruciate wearing our shirt. 19 years old, thrown in at the deep end, always appeared to give everything he had, yet totally ignored when he came back last night. I don't get it? I certainly didn't find it out from Nick Day's announcement, thought I'd made that clear! I would've given him a good clap but the teams had been announced & were ready to kick off before I took up my place (& i hadn't realised he was at Fleetwood before the game). But then I didn't hold a bitter grudge against Smudger either. No special welcome back for Cian Bolger tonight then, or did I miss it? He was a youngster thrown to the lions when we had him here, always did the best he could, surely worthy of a sporting west country round of applause? Edit. If nothing else we could have applauded the fact that he's given up on the bottled blonde hair! I would've given him a good clap but the teams had been announced & were ready to kick off before I took up my place (& i hadn't realised he was at Fleetwood before the game). Guess that's another potential customer you've alienated Mike, you certainly do have a talent for that Bounty you need to get a sense of humour ...my talents are varied and would suggest you get some rather than snipe at others who have opinions other than yours Well you've missed the humour in my post, as if Nathan Pond knows who you are. The issue is though Mike if you can't take it don't dish it out. Either that or block the posters whose opinions you don't like.

Of course stupid desirsory bids from clubs thinking they could take advantage of our plight would be turned down You're moving the goalposts. Either he was free to leave, or he felt he had to force the issue. Either way, he did nothing wrong. I'd give up if I was you. Crater believes he would of left anyway and it's ridiculous that the club saved some money because he handed in the transfer request. Luckily crater won't ever be involved in the running of the club. Wonder if his (future) father in law had an input to the transfer request?

He's definitely a bit marmite but I thought that at least under him everything was unpredictable and as to not likeing his football I'd preferred that to anything dished up by Trollope when he didn't have Lambert on the pitch. And he did have some good ideas like when he started watching games from the TV gantry, exactly where the video analysis is done from now, leading to his unforgettable mobile phone conversation with Agogo during a match.
Having said that I think his management style and Football tactics were both confrontational so probably had a limited shelf life at any club.

Costing the club more money? Are you really for real? Yeah I'm for real tfa. I never said anything about costing the club more money...that wasn't the original point I was making. Really was no need to question my sanity btw. Its actually fine to disagree. Anyway I'm bored of this now so feel free to insult me further as I'll let it slide without insulting you back. Not sure I've questioned your sanity but if you feel I have I apologise. You've obviously decided to hold a grudge against Smudger & even after having the transfer request explained you still try to use it as a reason for that grudge. So not questioning your sanity but questioning your flawed logic.
