Seen this banded about on twitter, for the uninitiated Linkedin is essentially a Facebook but for professionals. Instead of people posting drunken photos and ranty statuses about traffic, their status is essentially their CVs and it can be used to network.
On his time at Rovers (copied directly so don't blame me for the bad English!):
Manager
Seen over development of Scott Sinclair who i sold to Chelsea for 1 million pounds after giving him his debut at 15,
Joining this club was worst career move ever for me- did not do enough homework on people working for - excellent results turning a club that had been in bottom 4 of Division for 4 years - good recruitment that end up promotion for club with players i developed and bought - great fans

He left out the bit about subbing Brian Cash, 10 minutes after bringing him on

I am good at working all on my own. And I am also very good at working in a team! My weakness is that I can be a bit of a perfectionis.

atkins was a good player and a decent manager,at rovers he recruited some very good players but i hated his brand of football, pretty sure he narrowed the pitch at the mem and i remember the hopeless long ball percentage football that he tried to play at rovers. we are a million miles ahead of the atkins diet of football right now thank god but i agree he did get some good players into the club

Appearing for Rovers as a late substitute, Nottingham Forest loan signing Dubliner Brian Cash found himself substituted by Elliott Ward in the final minute; he had been on the field just eleven minutes and stormed off the pitch, provoking manager Ian Atkins to insist: “I am paid to win football matches, not look after players’ egos”.

Hi Mike, I don't believe Brian Cash was a loan signing. Maybe it's time you started getting your facts right! Happy to be proven otherwise though.

He came on, just looked like he was happy to be on the pitch, did not appear to be any effort and we needed something extra at that time so a good decision. Atkins was good at keeping teams up when all looked lost but did not have the ability to take us further than he did.

He's definitely a bit marmite but I thought that at least under him everything was unpredictable and as to not likeing his football I'd preferred that to anything dished up by Trollope when he didn't have Lambert on the pitch. And he did have some good ideas like when he started watching games from the TV gantry, exactly where the video analysis is done from now, leading to his unforgettable mobile phone conversation with Agogo during a match.
Having said that I think his management style and Football tactics were both confrontational so probably had a limited shelf life at any club.
