What moment or incident made you seriously consider quitting Rovers?
Or the same question to those you know that actually have quit Bristol Rovers?
Mine was not so long ago when we were actually challenging in the 3rd tier, then GC left.I just don't believe enough was done to keep GC and therefore keep up our challenge. It went against the very nature of competitive sport.
I felt this was a massive blunder and did I want to be involved?
Well I'm still about, but I got close to walking.

I've never got to the point of "quitting" Bristol Rovers. I've had periods when I have attended The Mem less, but that was usually for other reasons (finances, work, etc).
Supporting Bristol Rovers has generally always been a painful experience, with the occasional highs :-)

Southend at half time under GC. Even though we won in the second half not much more conviction. Southend should have been out of site.

An evening game a few years ago. We lost at home to Cheltenham, and, Julian Alsop (who scored) was made to look like a cross between Pele and Alan Shearer. I have never ever left a game early, but, was very close to doing so that night.

Barton transfer dealings are pushing things to the limit!
Not going to talk about off field issues.

Never, supporting the club is bigger than any player or manager, they come and they go, us supporters are here forever and a day.
Ups and downs happen, when it's good enjoy it to the full, when it's bad then pray, pray and pray a little more.

I said to a friend who had come over with his American wife her first Rovers match was the Shrewsbury Town play off final at Wembley I said as we went one down if we lose that's it ..been watching Rovers since 1 April 1967 only missed 7 home matches at that time. Fortunately Walker 2 and Igoe saved the day.

Yeh I would of been surprised if Hanlan had stayed.JB/WAQ did well by not accepting the Imps bid waited and got a better deal from WWFC.

The moment Trooper Barton trudged through the door in his oversized baseball cap. I’m still sitting on the ledge waiting to jump.

Only thing that stopped me from going to Rovers regularly was circumstances and finances. There was a 3 year period where I saw just 2 games. That was a good few years ago and I am grateful to be in a much happier and solvent position now.
No manager will stop me attending, but those that choose not to go for that reason have my respect.

The statement regarding victimless crime is the straw that is closest to breaking the camel's back. It's quite a long way back from where I am currently, and I have no plans to attend a Rovers match in the foreseeable future.
But I did buy my youngest son a Rovers top for his recent first birthday. And I will buy one of my others the Rovers kit he wants, and I will hope that my enthusiasm comes back. But it will take at least the current manager to f off, and quite possibly the bloke that employed him too, before it does.

Every waking moment since 1965. Constant drip, drip, drip of lingering pain and inadequacy, but like Laudanum, I just can't resist for one more time.
