So you can't find anything other than those 2 income streams either. Fair enough. Weren't we led to believe that Wael received money when a relative died (grandfather?) and hence his desire to own the Rovers outright rather than with the interference of Hani et al?

I believe it was his Father who passed away just before Wael announced capitalising the loans.

Yes, but that's a single chunk of inheritance, not an income stream. Contradiction has touched on this previously. Whilst as far as I'm aware none of us know the amount, it's probably reasonable to assume that it's not colossal, or there would be a stadium plan afoot, so unless he has income apart from Four Seasons and AJIB (neither of which have performed well in the last couple of years) he'll be eroding his nett worth via his involvement in Rovers. Whilst that's obviously convenient for the club, it's clearly not a sustainable situation, and that's the worry that I think Swiss shares with me.

Joey said that Wael is a brilliant owner, supported by the £18 million investment. I laughed when I heard that. Barton the WUM, shooting from the hip again. 😂😂
Out of interest, how much did the likes of:
Vernon Stokes Ron Craig Bob Andrews Neil Draper Uncle Tom Cobley
invest in the club? Do you remember some of them?
Peanuts compared to £18 million. No-one else in our history has capitalised debts.
Chris Jelf (good guy) was never interested in taking on the club, although he had the means to do so.
Apart from some share capital, the former directors provided secured loans. Good on them, but it was small-fry when we needed a Stadium and a playing budget in 1990s. Remember how many assets we sold. As Contradiction said, "local businessmen done good".
It was a different world 30+ years ago. Accept it and move on. Also, be careful what you wish for, as the Presidents Club is dwindling and with it the base of prospective future owners from within. 😄

I keep saying that none if us will ever know. I guess we just have to carry on, in the hope that it’s enough to keep rovers not only going but to possibly challenge. I find it difficult to see that but that’s just my view

To answer the question. We only put in enough to get Rovers to Championship level but I suppose if we had invested £18 million we may have been able to achieve relegation to the basement division. I can’t understand why you and contradiction keep pretending that there is no place in the modern era for local ownership. Take a look at the League 1 table and you will find at least half the clubs are owned by local business people and as well as having a higher League status than Rovers those clubs have superior stadiums and make financial losses which are only a fraction of ours. It was a different world 30 years ago but in Rovers case we are in a different world from 5 years ago. At that time we were losing less than £1 million a year had £4 million equity in the stadium and plans for a new one on the table. Today we lose £3 million a year, have a stadium which is still not fit for purpose, a £10 million charge over our asset and a financial commitment to a capital project on someone else’s land (the training ground) which will eat up money for many years to come. So if Rovers needed new owners where would they come from ? It is unlikely that any sensible local business people, the type of people who own clubs like Rotherham, Doncaster or Shrewsbury, would be interested in paying off the £10 million mortgage just so they can take on our financial and stadium mess. So would the field be left open for others like Samuelson, McKay or Stephen Vaughan Snr ?
