Chris has stated he would love to come back to Rovers and is making it clear he's available. There's absolutely no doubt he's 100 per cent Gas so the question is could he still do a job for us? Or as i seem to remember he was dividing opinion when he left us so maybe best we don't look back, and wish him well at Stevenage.

If he had one leg and that leg was riddled with gangrene, he'd be better than what we've got

Chris has more ability and desire in his big toes than the entirety of the current squad. He could certainly teach that shower about integrity, class and pride.
Would absolutely love him to be here in some player coach/mentor role.
Top man.

Maybe, but I think JB won't fancy Chris 'off the ball'.
On the ball yes. Off the ball, often not effective.
Fitness, speed and stamina might not be up to JB standard too.
I don't think CL is a JB player.

Something was seriously wrong when he was at Rovers. Occasional bursts of effort but often entire games would pass him by. I said many times that there were occasions in matches where he was literally stood still watching the ball and a team mate had to run from yards away to do his work for him.

Fair enough, it was obvious to everybody, my point really was that I was wondering what it was that was so wrong here that he never settled.

I entirely agree with you - you've articulated his performance very well. But did he ever settle anywhere? My wonder is why others can't see what you and I do - a player with undoubted talent and ability which he used only in glimpses, certainly by the time we reached L1.

Get him in. Even if interchangeable with Westbrooke on the team-sheet.
Line-dog ready for one more promotion season - what would this be number 6? (but he is a free man).

No thanks. Do not think he is a Barton type. Potential to cause problems in the dressing room

Surely got one more season in him. Better than what we've currently got. Could fire us to promotion!
