We had 55% of the play, 21 shots at goal and Like i said before still no goals, skip training for fitness, try shooting at goal and nothing else.
We were kept out of the drop zone by a 93rd minute penalty by none other than our ex hero JCH, thanks mate.
It is still 4 from 6, the points from bottom up go 32, 33, 33, 34, 34, 34, it's going to the last second on the final day.
Every ounce of blood, sweat and tears has to go in to the Swindon game now, we have to win at all costs.

I think the current squad are two or three experienced players away from being a decent League One side.
I also think that with a bit of confidence, the current squad would be able to avoid relegation this season.
I also think that JB could be very successful here.
I also think it is extremely likely that we will be relegated this season.
I am going to delay any judgement on the performance of Wael's tenure as club owner until the effects of the training ground start to manifest in the first team. It is unfair to judge a club owner on short term results. They are in it for the long haul, and only time will tell (and judge) on whether it was successful or not.
I do, however, not understand why we have a Director Of Football, and they most certainly should be held accountable for an unexpected and unplanned for relegation (if it happens). I also think that three managers in one season also reflects poorly on the DOF, so no matter what happens this season I would like to see the post made redundant in the summer.
Time to forget today's result and move on and hope for Tuesday. Like JB said, we have only lost three points today. We still have hope.

Gutted today again but for different reasons to Tuesday.
There was a lack of fight, especially first half.
We were unlucky with a few scrambles in their box, but ultimately you make your own luck.
The home commentary on ifollow was biased and annoying.
I still like Bartons way of playing, his plan b, his press conferences, his work is not paying off but I don't want him to go anywhere especially if we go down.
After Accrington home I believed we could stay up.
After today I am not so sure.
That was a massive chance today, we allowed them to get too near our box too often. Once there they caused us problems, especially on our right.
We are better at home, but I would like to see some more changes, for some big decisions to be made.
Maybe take Van Stropp out of the squad altogether as he is a liability and was at fault for the first goal partly. He doesn't have the concentration or presence, everyone around him panics because they don't have the confidence in him.
Jakkola is also costly. Injured all this season, half of last and goes on international duty to sit on a bench, yet we are paying him.
Ehmer is really struggling.
Upson does not protect the back four enough, I think McCormick sometimes misses his defensive duties because he is everywhere else. I am sure Westbrooke could produce more going forward as could Oztumer, too safe.
Hanlan and Ayunga have scored 1 goal under Barton. Hanlan spends too much time diving and Daly deserves a start Tuesday as does Tutonda.
Find a formation to use the players you have, not the other way round. 4-4-2 maybe with Tutonda left wing. The first cross he puts in and it's a dangerous one.
So gutted, this was a bad performance. Can't afford any more like that.
I will watch Tuesday but unlikely the next away game.

I disagree with lots being posted here.
So far out I don’t think much of looking at the table and other results and fixtures, it just adds particularly meaningless frustration or false hopes - we need 15 from 30, that’s the only focus, we can have no idea when they come, nor when other sides will pick up or drop points. We lost home to Wigan, saw off salop and Stan with aplomb. brings us nicely to “ Every ounce of blood, sweat and tears has to go in to the Swindon game now, we have to win at all costs.”. Why? A point would be a step in right direction. Let’s treat it one game at a time, and treat all opponents with respect. Piling pressure on ourselves isn’t’ going to help any sportspersons performance, and going out there sporting Marvin hagglers eyes and the blood up isn’t going to help focus and probably leads to silly cards.
Hanlon, who seemed particularly moany for some reason, couldn’t stay on his feet, the midfield just couldn’t get on top, to use Graham Taylor’s phrase we couldn’t knock it around for any length of time. I’ve been banging on about this the last five games because it’s a key component absent from our performance. Why is doing that important? Because it’s about transition, and holding it while you transform to a shape that supports the phase of play, otherwise you look like nothing, going nowhere on shape between defence to attack, attack to defence. It’s not a lack of fight making us look crap, it’s a lack of holding it and knocking it to set into shapes. Dissapinting too because against a side going for promotion, with a good budget and plenty of quality so it might not hurt so much to be bettered by such opponent, but Plymouth are going nowhere, we caught them on a confidence drop struggling for leads and wins.
“ I also think that JB could be very successful here.”. Joey Barton managerial and club building genius is particularly crazy belief with each passing day. He’s done nothing positive in his managerial career. He’s no positive leadership attributes and plenty of negative ones. He’s full of diverting BS that grates more with each managerial mistake. So explain why the confidence in him.
What’s silly about the Joey fan club is whilst they may be claiming starting three CB against their packed midfield wasn’t the mistake that cost us the game, Joey maybe pacing his Garden believing it was. But too late. Defensively The three CB formation meant there is one less person in our midfield why Muff had more options to pass and keep possession longer and build play today. It allowed them to team up on us on the wings. To a smaller extent it allowed their players particularly forwards to find a pocket of space out wide which was an option for their team to put the ball if they couldn’t make a pass. But offensively where you need to retain ball to transition, as our mf and attack begin transition outmanned they are hardly press resistant and helping each other enough to hold it long enough, so we were not knocking it around today because Joey got the formation and tactics wrong again. Worse. The wrongness of their packed midfield making us look insipid was going off like a klaxon for 45 minutes but he didn’t change the formation half time. He moved a decent full back to centre back, and brought on another full back leaving us outnumbered in midfield. His next change was to haul off the one midfielder of the three whose range of passing could help us transition.
Joey Barton, whose managerial genius throbs like a blind cobblers thumb.

Very interesting analysis, as always! Particularly around shape and transitions of play. This is where I'm trying to learn exactly what and who to watch during games. Any further advice is appreciated. Out of interest, why do you think JB started with a back 3? To my mind, that hasn't worked whenever we've tried it this season. Was it in order to accommodate Ehmer? I would have thought a back 4 with a midfield diamond where Upson sat at the base and Westbrooke at the tip would be better. Oz & McCormick to be interchangeable otherwise. Or 4-3-3. I assume this didn't happen because: Oz wasn't fit enough to play 90; and JB was concerned even a fit Oz wouldn't provide the same protection for defence as playing Ehmer. The irony! All teams face injury problems, but ours are particularly significant. 1st choice keeper out for most of the season - again. Our "Bodin" players (Rodman & Nicholson) now looking very doubtful for the rest of the campaign. Grant, who was becoming surprisingly good at breaking up play, now also out. Oz only just back and not yet playing full 90.

You are right of course, in that the Hull game was described as relatively just a frustration in the whole season, yet we then beat Accrington 4-1 in the next game. Some defeats have a knock on effect, I think we saw that today. Had we played Plymouth first, I wonder if the result is the same. There are some positives to take from today, but not sure how you think we will get 15 points if Barton is not the coach we think he is. The way you describe his changes etc above (in eloquent itallics i might add) suggests you think we will not. Tuesday is very important to send a message to the other 5 teams, the fans, the players missing out, those injured, that we are still in it. Imagine if we lose, which i personally think is a disaster. Typical given that they ducked out of playing us on the sunday, this would be our luck.

no worries Daisy, we will stick to daisy then. what we don’t need is Joey fandom turning on the players. This squad, short of the experienced players the club dumped last couple of years, short of any cutting edge up front, was always destined to struggle this season. We don’t need joey and his insane Joey Fandom turning on them. and anyone who says it’s all BGs fault needs to wake up and smell the coffee. There’s 4 people on the board here, and, having eased out cocko they claimed they wanted to take it in a different direction, manager novice BG was brought in as part of this new direction, he was not architect of the new direction, he wasn’t even the main builder of the new squad, and he wanted Coppel or some other wise old head to help him particularly match days whilst he got to work on the young players on training ground and this board ignored him. if you look at BGs whole term here the win loss record is abysmal. But not this season alone, he achieved more convincing performances and points against equal and lesser squads this season than any of the managers who followed him including Joey. and you can’t tell me Tisdale, whose been in the management game a long time is clueless at management. Towards the end of his time here he left out Hanlon, and made it public the club needed more cutting edge for the survival fight, and the board, in their infinite wisdom, disagreed with what he was saying. Do you disagree with the opinion Tis came to? do you think the window and lack of support to Tis was fine by the board, all it needed was Barton coming in with the excessive gamesmanship and cheating his Fleetwood side is famous for. Not that he or his Fleetwood side is notable for any great success. For me, The buck stops with el Presidente. He had this vision of pretty football and took apart a hard working & committed team , to sack managers and put us in this position. How does anyone run club when in another country most of the time. He only met Barton this past week.

Looking forward to the conversations in the board room tomorrow: “Seems a nice chap you appointed there Martyn” “I didn’t appoint him, boss. You did. I was about to interview Stephen Robinson” “I didn’t appoint him. I was managing my hotel in Jordan. I was expecting to talk to Paul Tisdale about summer targets this morning. Tommy, anything to say?” “He just turned up with all these cameras and said he was going to make Bristol blue again. I assumed you’d sent him” And so on

One of the reasons Hanlon may have played so many games is the contract he is on because you want your 15 biggest wage budget takers involved as much as possible. So the flip side is, don’t sign or keep on sick notes. Got to get recruitment right not just to fit the system you will play, but character, sick note history. If I was to say ship out Daly, little messi, Barrett, Ansii in summer it would be controversial because people will think of their promise and qualities, but the fact they put in more runs of sick notes than runs of games, that what relegated you. Ditto Ogogo, the stick BG took for wanting him out. There is no doubting the job he can do for us, partnered with Grant at London Road our midfield purred perfectly. But Ogogo is broken. Even at his peak captaining salop he only managed 30 appearances that promotion push. i don’t blame Joey for getting it wrong at start. The last three times we have played muff, we were lucky to get draw and 2 wins because they played pace and width at us, and we havn’t got the quickest defenders, so to start with extra defender and deep defensive line doesn’t sound so stupid. But up thread I said HT muff not playing like I thought they would (and abused by the usual suspects) where we had two up and 3 centre backs they had packed the midfield, so offensively they had extra numbers there to play it about and have us chasing shadows, and when we got the ball they had extra numbers in the press so we couldn’t hold ball to allow transition. And Joey and his crew watched this and didn’t change the fact we were poor because outnumbered in midfield. That wasn’t great management.

Interesting analysis. Quite apart from the controversy has he actually displayed the managerial talent we were promised we were getting? He doesn’t seem to be proving great at game management, making mistakes his predecessors made, playing players who bring a negative benefit. In short he doesn’t seem to be making much of a case for why his reputation was so vaunted. He hasn’t had a window and these aren’t his players but the manager can still organise the side to make the most of what little he does have and that doesn’t seem to be happening apart from the press which isn’t catching the canny sides out once they are able to figure it out and also results in us finishing games poorly.

Totally agree with what you say about injuries depriving our spine of key strengths and experience. One of the reasons Hanlon may have played so many games is the contract he is on because you want your 15 biggest wage budget takers involved as much as possible. So the flip side is, don’t sign or keep on sick notes. Got to get recruitment right not just to fit the system you will play, but character, sick note history. The problem is that applies to the owner too. He is supposed to be the sensible bulwark against the more hard of thinking elements of the fanbase who are easily seduced by celebrity and cravers of populism. Instead he is as bad, if not worse, than they are and it is going to result in relegation. I wonder what is going through his mind now after his prized new managerial signing has shown himself to be even less capable of getting a win out of this team than the other two guys he’s sacked this season?

How would you now look to set the side up against Swindon? Assuming - for argument's sake - that Rodman, Nicholson & Grant are all unavailable? How much notice do you think we should take of the opposition pre-match?

Yes. I get the feeling he's somewhat in "awe" of managers and then is prone to panic; rather than taking a more dispassionate approach in the first place.

Sadly that is exactly what you get with Wael. It’s like putting a lad off the Blackthorn terrace in charge of the club. It won’t end well the way things are going.

We seem to have more than our share of flag-shaggers and reactionary flip-tops than most clubs. Wonder how they'll be feeling about their Joey boy if he loses his 6th game tomorrow.

Going by the general tone on Gaschat one gets the sense that Barton can do no wrong and even if we get relegated most seem convinced that given the chance to bring in his own players he will get us promoted next season.
Clearly, they’ve managed to derive an awful lot of managerial talent in the course of all these defeats under Barton.
