Re. point (3), I think, that going back a bit, somebody did post that they would take the hit of losing/relegation if it got rid of JB. Don't think it was a current poster, but I get a bit confused on here with the user names changing. Now you mention it there was one, but Bas likes to tar and feather us all the same unfortunately Bath. Indeed Gross generalisations seem to prevail. In my 59 years of support I have never met or spoken to one person who supports Rovers that wishes us to get relegated. But for the "absolutists", they who would brook no dissent, anything that does not worship at the alter of JB, is not allowed.

Duke/Groin/Crap Velvets song said he'd take relegation and also said he hoped everyone above us beat us, when we were starting our road to the top 3.

Duke/Groin/Crap Velvets song said he'd take relegation and also said he hoped everyone above us beat us, when we were starting our road to the top 3. My memory tells me that what was actually said was he hoped everyone above us would win their remaining matches. Slightly different. I can't remember who said it, will have to take your word for that. And again, taking relegation is not the same as wanting it.

Always good to hear different views on topics, and we never know if people have personal reasons for their thoughts, so I prefer to digest rather than judge.

Fair play Oldie, but I would of thought you would of learnt abit more about football in "59 years". Still,as long as you're enjoying it.👍

As this thread has the square root of nothing to do with Rovers, could it not be moved?

Approximately 124 out of 126 pages of this Thread relate directly to the Bristol Rovers manager. I make that 98.4% (to 1dp). I would therefore conclude that it is indeed Rovers related and very unlikely to be moved. I'm sure it will be back on topic soon.

I've created a new Thread in General Politics and will move all Bercow related posts there. Keep it neat and tidy.

You're all free to write as you wish, of course. But may I fraternally suggest that we complain less about each other (and about the expression of opinions with which we disagree), and focus our efforts instead on writing something to the contrary, to the enlightenment, or to the better, of whatever it is we dislike? Those who have insisted Barton's fitness to manage Rovers is not discussed on other football threads might allow the subject to remain here. I totally understand you preferring the matchday and player-related threads, and recommend them for your attention. Should you wish not to read the views of the few members remaining for whom Barton's position is unacceptable, then maybe give this thread a miss. In the spirit of camaraderie and diversion, this hundred-page-plus thread has been allowed the freedom to take an occasional tangent. If you cannot stand this, then why not be glad such dissent and deviation is confined here, not to mention some of the Gas Guzzlers you seem to find so intolerable being contained likewise. Having seen so many of such leave this place, I would have thought you might be happier. Sometimes, we disagree. We're meant to. Enjoy your next match.

Which, if so, shows the strength of feeling. Last resort desperation. I think we’ve probably all experienced that at some point. It’s part of being a football supporter.

Can't help but think that a loss to Cambridge will drain his support. Hopefully we achieve a professional 2-0 win. No need to be exciting, just win.
