I'm allowing myself to become ever so, ever so, a tiny bit, slightly, optimistic. this is eppinggas' version of absolutely back-flipping ecstatic There is an unconfirmed rumour that a statue of Ken Masters is being commissioned (subject to check he has no slavery connections) for the new stadium.

'IF' there is any truth in any of this this then it's kind of game, set and match for that whole worldview really although perhaps it already was it's just taken over 10 years for people to realise it.

I can't see that working in a new stadium - because people will demand that it should be placed at 'ome

I notice that AFC Wimbledon have raised a further £2.3m via a share issue.
This video shows how the Plough Lane development is coming on. More impressive than I expected:

Rather large for a team currently drawing approximately 4,,000 attendees, big things in the melting pot for them !

Rather large for a team currently drawing approximately 4,,000 attendees, big things in the melting pot for them ! The capacity of Kingsmeadow is below 5,000 so pretty much every home game is a sellout. I would expect their average to be around ours once they move into Plough Lane. Will be a much better experience for away fans as well, something we can only dream of providing.

Although you would naturally think they are a smaller club than Rovers, they have a lot of potential - Particularly with the area they are in.
I've been told that they received a good chunk of investment that allowed them to proceed with the ground development, whilst the investor indicated that he was happy not to have any control over footballing matters and was happy to keep fans in control.
It's not necessarily the right model for Rovers, but the ground development is of interest.

I think it's a 9 k capacity to start with, like they could cram into Plough Lane, expandable to 21 k should the need arise. They'd fill that easily if they ever got back to the PL. Their catchment area stretches across south London.

According to someone called Spoons on OTIB, the Fruit Market site is a done deal, £65m. WAQ remains involved at Rovers afterwards. Not that I see any particular reason for City fans’ speculations to be any more reliable than ours. Although it might explain the sudden burst of activity at The Colony. Sorry PP must have been typing while you posted! Kid in the riot has been spot on and every time, right from the buyout by the AQ family. He seems very well informed

I can't remember their top division average, but in 93,after leaving Plough Lane for Selhurst Park,a crowd of 3036 watched Wombles v Everton. A Premier record until Coronavirus turned up.

On reflection our Conference experience wasn't all bad but going to places like Alfreton and Braintree are best forgotten.Think Will Puddy found his level at Braintree on loan.Anyway they hope to have a new stadium.Think we failed to win at either.

Can't find any recent news about a new stadium for Braintree... there's been rumours about a new stadium for years. Imagine that...

This mornings Telegraph features a preview of our game v Sheff Utd and our owner comes across very well but it says ,'He has suspended plans to explore the redevelopment of a fruit market in Central Bristol as a site for the club's next stadium'.I wasn't aware of that although in all fairness the Club never announced plans officially anyway as far as I am aware.
