Mr Al-Qadi is totally committed to the football club... our aspirations are to still find a new stadium for the club... we are actively working on a project and all being well we’ll announce something positive in the next few weeks”

Jolly good. Nothing can go wrong now. Apart from the fact no one can get into a Stadium at the moment......😀😜 (Mind you what the situation might be if/when this ever sees the light of day is no doubt a matter of great debate....🤔)

Don't be so cryptic, just say the correct answer. That's 3 discussed this year. Odd rumours that UWE may still not be totally over. Fruit market. Yeah right, as if that was ever, in a million years, going to happen. Now something vague, suggested but not defined. It's a bloody farce, that's what it is. Brentford can get it done, so can Shrewsbury, Doncaster, Rotherham, Swansea, Cardiff, 1982, even that loony at FGR has all of his ducks in a row, we have PP for 2 schemes in recent years but don't deliver either, but we do have a rented tent. I'm surprised that anybody from the club has the neck to even mention the subject without giving a date when the bulldozers will roll on to the site.

I asked YTL about their Filton plans directly, nothing relating to what they are doing has ever involved Rovers. No contact, nothing at all from either side. Maybe someone did mention in passing that the big bit of land on the opposite side of the road was large enough for a stadium, but I don't think we can blame the club for a conversation that happens on a forum somewhere, can we?

It is disappointing that there has been no involvement from Rovers with YTL and the Filton runway development. I longingly look at the stadium shaped green space on the plans, just to the west of the Brabazon hangar and would love to believe that you've been misinformed.
I think there was some discussion of the previous Rolls Royce land on the opposite side of the A38 some time ago, but last time I passed, there was plenty of warehouse and retail development already underway. (If that is where you mean).
I await Mr Starnes big reveal in a couple of weeks time, but I'm not holding my breath.

That discussion was with one of YTL's planners and one of their PR people, both looked genuinely confused when asked, I believed them. Of course, we can all be wrong, but nothing about what they said or the way the conversation went gave a sniff that they weren't being completely candid. I spoke with designers later that same day about accessibility provision and just dropped the subject of Rovers in to that conversation as well, same response. Of course, they may have all been told what to say, but I doubt they were expecting that question. The only thing the designer said of interest was that he knew one of the guys who was brought in to work with Rovers on UWE, but sorry, I can't remember the name. They knew each other because they both worked on Wemberley. That should narrow it down a bit, maybe? I asked if either of them were responsible for the thing sinking 3 foot at one end because the footings were wrong, apparently that question wasn't funny. Some people eh. Yes, I think we are talking about the same bit of land, on the left, just past the flyover as you head in to town, now has a couple of warehouses and a used car retailer on it.

According to someone called Spoons on OTIB, the Fruit Market site is a done deal, £65m. WAQ remains involved at Rovers afterwards. Not that I see any particular reason for City fans’ speculations to be any more reliable than ours. Although it might explain the sudden burst of activity at The Colony.
Sorry PP must have been typing while you posted!

Is that purely a Rovers thing or Rovers are part of a bigger deal with the council or a.n other to develope the area

It is a fact that the head of the Mayor’s office is a gashead.

It's the hope that kills you. Though given: 1. The Training Facility IS finally going ahead, and 2. Wael Al-Qadi would now appear to have access to 'funding', and 3. Post Covid-19 the FM businesses could well be in a weaker bargaining position, and 4. Positive rumours on OTIB (large bucket of salt required) I'm allowing myself to become ever so, ever so, a tiny bit, slightly, optimistic.
