He can live at home during the week and Mansfield are one of the best supported via the Radfords. We move on. It's obvious who we should appoint, even until the end of the season. We are in a good position in the worst League 1 that I have seen. Surely Wael wants a promotion? Who's that then?

It may be that Wael has found someone who will take the club on and allow him to keep a shareholding but the new people want to put their own management team in place. If this is the case I should expect the next move will be the announcement of a groundshare accompanied by a “promise” that it will only be a temporary measure while the new owners “finalize” their plans for a new stadium. I admire your optimism, it looks just like Occam’s razor to me: he’s been poached, nowt to do with anything outside the club. We’ll still have no stadium news this time next year.

I think selling JCH will achieve that and it won’t be our last season because Wael needs the club to exist to satisfy his ego. A permanent third rate existence is not what I signed up for but it appears to be where we are heading. And there is a long list of people who by their words and actions have confirmed that viewpoint with GC seemingly the latest. Watch out for a ground share announcement and the spin that will be put on it.

City fans claiming it's our boards inability to spend money that is the cause.Training facilities are woeful let alone our stadium and it seems there is no realistic hope of it improving any time soon.

Good luck to GC if he goes.
Family reasons or not, a successful League I manager leaving the club for a mid-table League II side does not reflect well on our owner's ambition or lack of it thereof.

More farce.
Won't list all the stuff about UWE etc etc, but now Hamer sacked and our manager blurting this out in the middle of a post-match interview.
We are a total basket case of a club.
On top of it all, a couple of forum contributors who don't tend to get would up in gossip seem to be saying that the Fruit Market plan is dead.
Where from here Wael?

After a stunning win at Portman Road. The travelling Gas in very good voice. A battling performance, down to 10 men and 3 points. Unbridled joy at the final whistle. Rovers players fist pumping and the manager out there with his heart on his sleeve. Up to 3rd. And the next thing I hear (OK a bit late back from Ipswich / the pub) our manager is off?!? WTF. Only at Rovers.

A few days ago someone said to me that when you have been away from Bristol for a few years you have a very different view of Rovers matters compared to those who have stayed. Nothing illustrates this more than events of the past few weeks when first the Chairman left with no explanation from the club and now the manager appears to be leaving as well. I dare not post on the other forum tonight because my views are so out of step with the majority of fans many of whom seem to think this state of affairs is quite normal and that Wael will soon sort it out.
Am I the only one who thinks that Wael seems to have some sort of hold over many Gasheads ?
If I was Hani Al-Qadi I should be encouraging Wael to do a deal with anyone he could to take the club off his family’s hands and stop further liabilities running up. A few weeks ago I was posting about the possibility of Dwane Sports agreeing to sell the Mem to developers but let Rovers (with new majority shareholders) stay on for up to three years while a new stadium was built. Now I think it is far more likely that the football club will have new owners and Wael will retain a shareholding but the ground will have to be sold immediately to repay the loan. If this happens I think Wael and the new owners will negotiate a ground share with a local club and sell the idea to fans that this is a temporary measure while they finalize plans for a new permanent home.
If this scenario does take place I hope Gasheads at last come to their senses and have the courage to start asking searching questions about the strategy and finances of the restructured club. If we do that, and the new owners know we are going to do it, there is a chance they will come up with a viable plan. If we carry on thinking we are being loyal by taking the attitude “leave them alone, they must know what they are doing” I am afraid the haphazard meanderings of the last four years will continue and it is likely to end in tears.

Its still early, but I note that none of the assorted sages on the other forum have yet pointed out that its like your wife/girlfriend leaving you for the overweight bloke with a squint and a cr*p job in the small-time local car shop who once did you over on a motor.
But I await in expectation.
Seriously, could you could imagine if he stays now?

PrideofBristol The owners deserve all the stick they are getting, from both GC and the fans. But let's remember that when Taylor left, Clarke was given all of the money to reinvest in a new striker, and then brought Nichols. Last season, they put their hand into their own back pocket to sign JCH, on terms that were so favourable that Mark Robins, the Coventry manager, felt obliged to let him go. Clarke signed Bennett on such good terms that we have since been unable to shift him and GC also signed a number of players on what must have been good terms. The trust between the board and the fanbase and successive managers has gone, and they need to go also. But its not fair to paint them as asset-strippers.
