The defeat means Superchargers stay second and two points behind leaders Southern Brave with one game left. They are already assured of a top-three finish along with Brave, with the team finishing in top spot progressing directly to next week's final. Originals were already eliminated but their second win of the tournament moves them up to fifth. Match Hero, Manchester Originals all-rounder Kathryn Bryce: "It was a stressful end, it is never calm when you've got a runner out there! Nobody ever practices it so it is all a bit of entertainment. "We had a couple of tough games to start with the rain and close losses, but we know we are building something and wanted a couple of strong performances to finish off the tournament. "Sophie [Ecclestone] is such a big player for us and her to go down was a loss so to take more responsibility on my shoulders was great."

That was 81 runs short of the 164-6 posted by Originals, underpinned by Jos Buttler's 75 from 47 balls. Originals are up to second in the table and will reach the knockouts if they beat Southern Brave on Wednesday. Superchargers, who have now lost four of their six completed games, cannot qualify for the knockouts and end their campaign at home to Welsh Fire on Tuesday. Match hero Calvin Harrison: "It was great to be back among the guys and be back in the tournament. It's been unbelievable so far. It was nice to get a win first game back in. The Invincibles recovered from 85-5 to post 155-6 in their first innings after Nadine de Klerk's explosive 51 from 25 balls. Lizelle Lee and Nat Sciver-Brunt led the charge for Rockets in a brave reply, with a stand of 63 from 37 balls. But both were dismissed in the space of three balls as Invincibles fought back. Sophie Ecclestone has been rested from England's upcoming white-ball series against Sri LankaEngland spinner Sophie Ecclestone dislocated her shoulder during the warm-up for Manchester Originals' final match of the The Hundred against Southern Brave. Ecclestone was helped off the field at Old Trafford on Wednesday and went to hospital for scans. It has not yet been confirmed how long she will be ruled out for. England's next series starts on 31st August against Sri Lanka, but Ecclestone was not named in the squad. After playing every game in the Ashes and captaining Originals in The Hundred, Ecclestone was rested to manage her workload. Ecclestone is the number-one ranked bowler in one-day internationals and T20s, and took 10 wickets in the Ashes Test, followed by 10 wickets across both white-ball series. Shrubsole played 173 games for England across all formats, claiming 227 wickets, including six in a player-of-the-match performance against India in that famous World Cup final win at Lord's. She also played domestic cricket for Somerset, Western Storm, Perth Scorchers, Berkshire and Southern Vipers during a 19-year professional career. "I knew I was retiring before this competition and you have that hope you'll make it to the final, but I often find sport isn't that kind so I feel incredibly lucky that the team have performed so well and we get to play in the final," Shrubsole told BBC Radio 5 Live. Like Shrubsole, Hartley was also an integral part of England's successful World Cup campaign, ending the tournament as their second-highest wicket-taker and claiming 2-58 in the final. She played 32 matches for England across all formats after her debut against Pakistan in 2016. In a game reduced to 95 balls at The Oval, Fire had reached 104-2 from 75 when a lightning threat delayed play. Heavy rain arrived soon after, with the game abandoned at 16:40 BST. The Superchargers advance to play Southern Brave in Sunday's final at Lord's by virtue of having finished higher than Fire in the group stage. Superchargers only climbed above Fire into second by beating the Welsh side in the final group game at Headingley on Tuesday. This defeat ends the career of former England spinner Alex Hartley, who will retire at the end of The Hundred but was not included in the Fire XI on Saturday. It would have been amazing to go out at Lord's but we can only blame ourselves for finishing third in the table. "I always said whatever happened this weekend I am going out on a high. Brave looked well-placed for the final when they piled up 196-1 at The Oval through half-centuries from Finn Allen, James Vince and Devon Conway. But Buttler added 83 in 32 balls with Phil Salt on the way to 82 from 46. Originals completed the highest chase in Hundred history with four deliveries to spare and will meet Oval Invincibles in Sunday's final at Lord's. It means the Originals have the chance of going one better than their defeat in last year's final, while Brave miss out on the opportunity to add to the title they won in 2021. Match Hero and Manchester Originals captain Jos Buttler: "That was fantastic. It was a tough fielding innings but we knew with a good start we'd have a chance on a great pitch and a short boundary on one side. "I was a bit disappointed that they got such a big score, there were a few things I could have done differently as captain but we just had to park it and once we got into our flow, it was hard to stop us. Brave lost to Oval Invincibles in the previous two finals but this time made no mistake, beating Superchargers by 34 runs. Brave recovered from 8-2 to post 139-6 thanks to opener Danni Wyatt's 59 and Freya Kemp's 31 from just 17 balls. Superchargers lost Marie Kelly to the second ball of the reply, bowled by Lauren Bell. Much rested on their leading run-scorer Phoebe Litchfield, but when she slashed Bell to deep cover, Superchargers were 13-2 and could not find a way back. Bell ended with 3-21 and spinner Kalea Moore took 3-15 in a ruthless Brave display with the ball and in the field. The threat from the Superchargers had long been extinguished when they were dismissed for 105 with six balls remaining.
