when you say 'unbelievable', do you mean 'entirely as expected'?

Who would have him?
When a club spends good money on a player who fails they often keep playing him to ignore the mistake. "He'll come good" "Needs the right partner" "He's working hard in practice" blah blah blah...
He was not GC's buy, but he's saddled with him.
It was time to cut the losses ages ago, but with our budget GC is stuffed, but he must rate him in some way as he was getting games or on the bench. His wages would cover a couple of new players'.
(This is not hindsight, although it was early days, when I saw him in Portugal I thought he was a triallist.)

He is sitting on a 3and a half year contract. Probably one of the higher earners at the club and his reputation is shot. Who in their right mind would buy him, no one, and so he will stay for another 18 months getting a nice payout for being the most ineffective striker in the football league. He knows that his next move will be div 2 or non league, and that of course will mean lower wages. He's on a good thing thanks to DC.

Might be wrong but I thought it was a 3 year contract esp as he signed in Summer 17. Usually full year contracts when players sign in the Summer and only half year when they sign in January window to take them into the summer. UTG!

When you see the goals he scored on YouTube before he joined us he looked the part of proven striker. Since joining us he is undoubtedly is the worst striker ever to don the blue and white quarters. Last season he done an ok role in supporting the other wanabee strikers but never looked like scoring himself. My ninety year old grandad blinded folded would to be hard pushed not to double the seasonal rate achieved by Nichols. That said, at least he tried he wanted to come good for us so we can't fault him for his endeavour unlike Payne to be off loaded is an amazing achievement.
With regards to Nichols, the best we can hope for is for somebody to take him on loan for the rest of his contract - maybe with a smaller club there will be less pressure so he might get his career back on track, and If that was to happen then great and I wish him well!

I did 'clock' the fantastic goals Tom had scored before he joined the gas, and as the expression goes 'form is temporary class is permanent' Both Rickie Lambert and Marty Taylor took a long time to prove that phase. Ok, this time we have had to wait 200 hundred years! Nevertheless Tom would appear to have finally rekindled his eye for a goal. The real business starts in a few weeks, and if he can carry this form in League One I will gladly eat ''Humble Pie!' UTG

Sure he cant be as bad, but I have a feeling Nicholls is going to be ok this year. Even if we don't get the additional striker with JCH, Reilly and the new lad, revitalised Nicholls, could be ok. One more creative player will do me.

If Deon Moore signs a new contract then that's 5 strikers.

I reckon his best position is tucked behind a front two of a big and little combination. (JCH/DM and GR?) I don't think he's an up front striker (too lightweight), nor a winger who's going to put in crosses. He does have good skill on the ball with a hint of Matty Taylor in that respect. Playing behind a front two he'd need someone like OC behind him and LS/KB/AR either side of Ollie. I may be wrong but have we played him there?

From what I read in the BP this morning, GC sees him as a "fox in the box", encouraging him to just get in there waiting for the opportunity.

Most of the goals he scored for Posh were from close range (2-10 yards out). See this link to thread from January 2018. Tom as Posh's "fox in the box"
