Correct decision. If the roles had been reversed then think we would have expected a pen. Ref very fit and if you moan about him you'll never be happy.Anyway,so nice to relax over the weekend basking in the afterglow of victory. I didn’t think it was a penalty, as it wasn’t a deliberate handball, as per the laws of the game. As you say great weekend (apart from he weather) to enjoy the victory. UTG The handball law is an ass. If it was interpreted literally there'd be one handball decision every three years.

Going to state the obvious now that I have seen the replay many times, the ref was right to give the pen against us. It was difficult to see even behind the goal, but we got an advantage even if accidental. The chanting was pretty vitriolic but it's quiet now on this forum about the decision, but he had no other option; it was more than unfortunate how Clarke's hand landed right on top of the ball and it was in the area. Correct decision. If the roles had been reversed then think we would have expected a pen. Ref very fit and if you moan about him you'll never be happy.Anyway,so nice to relax over the weekend basking in the afterglow of victory. Just gutted I wasn’t there. Maybe I should stay away if it means more wins like this ! I used to genuinely think I was a jinx to the team as, when I never got to games, we enevitably won lol. It was only as short a time ago as 2007 that I started to go regularly again due to this + the 99/2000 debacle

"It's up to the referee to interpret the law, not us" I'd rather they applied the law, not interpreted it.

"It's up to the referee to interpret the law, not us" I'd rather they applied the law, not interpreted it. But they must be applying it correctly, because they give dozens of handball decision every week and no action is ever taking against them.

Try looking at the replay and then in slow motion it was a definite handball whether accidental or not and by handling the ball clarke knocked the ball away from the attacker thus gaining an unfair advantage. Referee got it spot on

Ellis and their defender getting studs and laces tangled was something I've not seen before

If you read my comments i said whether accidental or not he gained an advantage therefore in the laws of the game if you gain an advantage by means other than fair it is a foul whether intentional or otherwise and a free kick may be awarded

It's up to the referree to interpret the law, not us. I think one or two football supporters in this country missed that memo.

The controversial penalty and wykes unnecessary goading celebration lifted the whole atmosphere and in turn assisted our team. To me wyke was unprofessional and played a role in our win.

Having seem that I'm even more surprised our first wasn't disallowed for a foul than I was at the time. Gaffney barged straight through the back of Law.

Ellis and their defender getting studs and laces tangled was something I've not seen before What was spooky about it is that driving down the motorway to the game listening to the Danny Baker phone in show was a listener describing a similar thing happening to him during a Sunday morning game and it was hard to believe then!

Most impressive player for me was Broadbean, threaded some great balls through to the midfield and forward line.Likes a bit of a jaunt forwards as well, think we will see one of these runs finish with a nice one-two (you can see he's looking for it) and a left foot rocket in to the top corner! So glad we got him signed up for longer cos he looks like he could become something a bit special.Good performance all round I thought, surprised that Bradford stood off us and never pressed or hurried us at any time really.Left it a bit late to secure the win but that makes it all feel so much sweeter in the end..Need to show some of the same bottle at donny next week and get the away wins flowing now.
