What a game!
From looking dysfunctional and chaotic, I actually thought the longer the game went on, the more we took command and centred ourselves as an attacking force, with resolute defence..
Positives... Referee. Apart from what I thought were two atrocious penalty awards, I thought he got everything else spot on including Wyke/Lockyer tête de tête. At least he balanced it up, but fair play if he got it right, will have to see the fouls again. He certainly galvanised the crowd!
Partington. I thought a brilliant game, important goal and had to deal with their tricky no 35 whom I would love to have here. Excellent wing back. So glad he got the goal he was talking about last week.
Broadbean. Brilliant effort today. Even got forward in a left wing back position to almost put a killer ball in. Nothing got past him and he looked composed and calm in possession.
Sercombe. Best signing this year. My m o m. A goalscoring midfielder is like goal dust. He's doing on the left what Bodin done on the right last few seasons. A couple of balls went astray, but always kept ball moving - usually forward - and raises the crowd when he's in possession attack dribbling. Took his goal well, his finishing percentage (as in shots on target) must be potent and he looks a constant threat. Of course much credit goes to Gaffney and Sincs movement today to help make space, but when was last time we had a reliable goal source from midfield? Especially late winners??
Sinclair. I like seeing him play up field, but tbf his engine takes him everywhere. Great effort.
Us. We made some noise! Never gave up.
DC. Ok, fair play off field antics are negative, but on field his teams' shape and movement was spot on. Our mid seemed strong in tackling and defensively sound. We bypassed it at times with effect by hold up of front two and running support from Sincs and Sercs. He got his tactics spot on today. Bradford have some tricky skillful players, we nullified them at times and rode our luck at times. A very decent game from players stepping up in wake of post-Bodin.
Negatives... Nichols came on. How many of us so want him to work for us? To me he just doesn't look like a footballer atm. I really hope we can coach something into him. Fair play to dc for putting him on..
Pitch. I know it's been mentioned but I think it's only a matter of time before that pass gets stuck in the mud !
McCall. You're a git. Get off the pitch. Hope you spend the coach trip home with your bum in an itch.
Ok, a great win against certain top 10 finishers, probably play off contenders. They are a good team, no doubt about that, which makes our hard earned win even more important.
Confidence is a funny thing. Next we go to Donny where we haven't won for yonks. Maybe this is the start of something special (?) with a few strategic quality signings, dare we believe we can do much better than 14th or mid table this season?
Who knows?
But for now, Gas, revel in the fact we beat a good team today by playing better than good. Well done all. UptheGas..

I thought we dominated the game both halves. The penalty was the most harsh I have seen for many a year. Good job we turned it around second half! Don’t think any player had a bad game. Ellis was immense both up front and in defence for corners. Sinclair was causing their midfield all sorts of problems. Nice to see our midfield dominate like that. Other than their winger, I thought Bradford never really offered much of a threat.
Broadbent was brilliant today. He is really settling into this standard of football very well. If he keeps improving, we may find it difficult to hold on to him. Locks als9 played very well and put in a few good tackles when needed. If only we could play like this away from home we would be challenging at the top end for a play-off place.

That was pretty clever by Gaffney especially as he was on the bench.it was set up by a neat flick by Harrison to open a gap for sercombe.these 2 seem to have got an understanding of who what and where. One thing I failed to understand is that lockyer was injured and not certain to be able to stay on so why switch sweeney for harrison

I thought Gaffney movement deserved mention and credit as his passing was sometimes astray and his holding up was stifled, but this happened most the game. Locks injury weird one..

If backwards, sideways and stodging up any form of momentum is good movement then Gaffney gets MoM :-) Nichols isn't any better, he had three neat flicks that went nicely into space but no bugger there! He looked bemused. Things livened up when the new boy came on, so that's him on the bench rest of the season as Clarke has to prove he was right with Nichols.

"McCall. You're a git. Get off the pitch. Hope you spend the coach trip home with your bum in an itch". What did he do to deserve that??!! I thought the referee was the day's pantomime villain! Great performance by the Gas.

Great performance by the Gas. McCall playing pantomime villain last week by implying publicly his top striker was injured....as was many more....then invading pitch many times....i thought his actions a bit like thrush. An irritating C. Send him home with something just as irritating and give him something to think about too. Ref done ok. Apart from 2glaring (in my mind) errors that weirdly enough balanced out. Much better than some we see this season..

Fair comment just misread it..problem is have with gaffney is his first touch is a bit heavy.it's something he can work on and will make him a better player. One thing I will say is don't let him come back into our box for dead ball kicks

Great win and was well deserved. Yes, McCall is a ****. He spent the first half on the pitch and whenever the fourth official asked him to come off he was back a few minutes later. Then at the end the official put his arm around McCall and had a cuddle! Weird! Thought the ref was ok but in the first 10 minutes we had two free kicks at the tent end. The ref paced out 10m and asked the defenders to move back. They refused so he just put the line where they were. Wish we could do that! UTG!

It gives him that 'Devon White factor', and I like that

Bradford fans are on the whole good, and I've enjoyed my trips to their ground, but listening to some in the Welly discussing who they'll get in the play-offs was a bit galling.

Going to state the obvious now that I have seen the replay many times, the ref was right to give the pen against us. It was difficult to see even behind the goal, but we got an advantage even if accidental. The chanting was pretty vitriolic but it's quiet now on this forum about the decision, but he had no other option; it was more than unfortunate how Clarke's hand landed right on top of the ball and it was in the area.

We were saying at the game we would have wanted it. Accidental or not, Ollie put his hand on the ball and it ena led him to play ot as he got back up and he gained an advantage in doing so

Correct decision. If the roles had been reversed then think we would have expected a pen. Ref very fit and if you moan about him you'll never be happy.Anyway,so nice to relax over the weekend basking in the afterglow of victory.

I didn’t think it was a penalty, as it wasn’t a deliberate handball, as per the laws of the game. As you say great weekend (apart from he weather) to enjoy the victory. UTG
