Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk unification fight 'will be made' - Frank Warren.A "historic" heavyweight unification fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk "will be made", says the Briton's promoter Frank Warren. Ukrainian Usyk retained his WBA, WBO and IBF titles with a split-decision win over Anthony Joshua on Saturday. This month WBC champion Fury said he would stay retired. After Usyk's win he said he "would annihilate them - get your cheque book out". "He and Usyk would be a really good fight," Warren told BBC Radio 5 Live. "It's a fight that I think will be made because both teams would like to see that happen." Britain's Lennox Lewis was the last undisputed heavyweight champion after beating Evander Holyfield in 1999. Since 2007 the undisputed heavyweight championship has included the WBO title, and there has never been a fight where all four belts were on the line. Fury remains unbeaten after 33 fights. After extending his unbeaten record to 20-0, Usyk said: "If I'm not fighting Tyson Fury, I'm not fighting at all." Warren said: "Usyk said after the fight that it's the only fight he's interested in, and it's certainly the same case with Tyson. "It's just a matter of where it will generate the most income because it's a unique fight, a historic fight. "It's the first time for God knows how long that the four belts are on the line. Both fighters are undefeated. The whole world of boxing will be captivated by this fight." In failing to reclaim the titles he lost to Usyk in September 2021, Briton Joshua suffered a third defeat in his past five fights. Although Joshua has now lost his belts, Warren said an all-British clash between Fury and Joshua could still happen "down the road maybe". He said: "If AJ manages to get a couple of wins under his belt - and I believe Tyson will beat Usyk - that may be a fight to be made. "But AJ's got to re-establish himself before you can even think about fights like that." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/2080/production/_126402380_0k8a4437.jpg

Tyson Fury v Derek Chisora III: Trilogy bout confirmed for 3rd December at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/9AD4/production/_127263693_bbc-sport-index-imagery-2-split-images-gradient-5c0a0a80-d35d-4224-a990-70bcee6ac2ba.pngTyson Fury will fight Derek Chisora in their trilogy bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 3 December in London. Fury, 34, will defend his WBC heavyweight title for the third time against a fighter he has beaten twice previously. The Britons fought in 2014 and 2011, Fury winning comfortably on both occasions. Fury was in talks to fight Anthony Joshua in December, but negotiations broke down between both camps. The world champion is unbeaten in 32 fights while 38-year-old Chisora is approaching the end of his career and has three losses in his last four bouts. Also on the card is Briton Daniel Dubois, who will defend his WBA 'Regular' title against South African heavyweight Kevin Lerena. Chisora ended a three-fight losing streak by beating Kubrat Pulev in July while Fury fights for the first time since stopping Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April. Fury announced his retirement after that win, but has since done a U-turn and now wants to fight unified champion Oleksandr Usyk for all the main heavyweight titles next year.

Tyson Fury says Derek Chisora is as good as Oleksandr Usyk..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/2429/production/_127275290_a40fc92403dd8c00c4bc41e0a904321afd43ef68.jpgTyson Fury is undefeated in 32 fights with 23 knockouts Tyson Fury says he rates Derek Chisora as highly as unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk before their trilogy bout in London on 3 December. WBC champion Fury defended his decision to fight 38-year-old fellow Briton Chisora, having beaten him twice. He also said he intends to take on Usyk in an undisputed bout next year. "I can beat anybody in the world - always have been able to and always will be able to," said 34-year-old Fury. "There's nobody that can touch me. I'm in a league of my own." After moving up from cruiserweight in 2019, Usyk's second fight at heavyweight was an unanimous points win over Chisora. He beat Britain's Anthony Joshua for a second time in August to retain his WBA (Super), WBO and IBF titles. "Usyk was a little small heavyweight, who wasn't going to do anything against AJ, when Chisora fought him," Fury said. "But then he stepped up and beat the big bodybuilder [Joshua] and all of sudden he's a killer? I don't think so. I rate Derek Chisora as highly as I rate Usyk." Chisora was well beaten by Fury in 2011 and 2014 and has suffered three defeats in his past four fights. Fury, who stood up for most of Thursday's news conference, said he always planned a third fight against Chisora, who he insisted was a worthy opponent. "As for me trying to sit here and try to sell Derek Chisora to the fans, I ain't got to sell absolutely nothing to nobody," he said. "With Chisora, it does exactly what it says on the tin: he goes to war. He's changed his name from 'Delboy' to 'War', and we're going to get a war. "I did outbox him comfortably the second time. Chisora's style has changed and guess what - so has mine. I used to be a tip-tap boxer jabbing around the ring. "I'm now a HMS destroyer. When you've got two heavy forces colliding, someone's getting knocked out."

Not overwhelmed about the prospect of Fury fighting Chisora but there wasn't a higher ranked opponent available for the date.Given Eddie Hearn was never gonna let Fury feast on what remains of Joshua this is just a fight to keep Tyson ticking over and keeping him focused before he destroys Usyk in the spring.

Tyson Fury to release debut single for mental health charity..
Boxer Tyson Fury is to release his debut single to raise money for men's mental health charity Talk Club.
The two-time world heavyweight champion has covered Neil Diamond's classic Sweet Caroline.
The song is set for release on 11 November ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
It was chosen for its status as a fan-favourite at many UK sporting events, with Fury saying he feels a particular connection to the track.
"Sweet Caroline is a record I've always loved and I'm excited to record and release it," said the 34-year-old British boxer who is known for singing in the ring after his bouts.
"And thanks to the folks over at Warner Music, they've given me the opportunity to do that, and what better time to release it than around the World Cup," he said.
Fury, who will fight Derek Chisora in their trilogy bout in December, said he was proud to be partnering with the team at Talk Club "who do such amazing work".
He added: "If it helps England along the way in the World Cup, well that's an added bonus."
Fury has previously spoken openly about his struggles with mental health and 100% of the profits from the single, including Fury's earnings, will be donated to Talk Club.
The charity offers support to men by providing talking groups, sports groups and therapy.
Co-founders Ben Akers and Gavin Thorpe said: "Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 in the UK. Tyson Fury is a champion, in and out of the ring to many of those men.
"Men see themselves in Tyson, so when he talks - or sings - they listen."
Fury said: "I have been very vocal about my mental health struggle, especially since my comeback.
"It has been widely printed about my highs and lows, ups and downs, so I've tried my best to keep talking about it as much as I can and keep trying to smash the stigma."

Tyson Fury hopes to fight Oleksandr Usyk next year..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/7F6F/production/_127832623_gettyimages-1245213918.jpgTyson Fury aims to collect the 33rd win of his professional career on Saturday
Negotiations between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk over an undisputed heavyweight fight are "getting there". Fury, 34, defends his WBC title against fellow Briton Derek Chisora at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday. But Fury's team are working behind the scenes to reach a deal with WBA, WBO and IBF champion Usyk. Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren is confident an agreement can be reached, saying: "Usyk is the fight we want." There were fears that Usyk's mandatory obligations could hold up the fight, but Warren said Fury hopes to fight Usyk as early as March, "providing there are no hold-ups". One of the potential issues could be Usyk's mandatory obligations, with Croatia's Filip Hrgovic and Britain's Daniel Dubois vying to be the next challenger to Usyk's titles. Fury's team are prepared to wait until the summer to fight Usyk. With Deontay Wilder set to fight Andy Ruiz Jr in a WBC final eliminator, Warren says Fury could take a voluntary defence should talks with Usyk drag on. Undefeated British heavyweight Joe Joyce is an option after his stunning win over former world champion Joseph Parker in September.

Tyson Fury v Derek Chisora III: WBC World Heavyweight Championship fight at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/B75B/production/_127793964_tysonfuryandderekchisora.jpgTyson Fury beat Derek Chisora in a wide points victory in 2011 and then again in 2014 when Chisora was retired by his corner at the end of the 10th round
In April Tyson Fury was finished with boxing, but now he has realised he just cannot live without it. Fury puts his WBC world heavyweight championship on the line on Saturday as he fights fellow Briton Derek Chisora with 60,000 watching at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After defeating Dillian Whyte with a stunning sixth-round stoppage in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in the spring, Fury said: "This might be the final curtain for the Gypsy King." But Fury, born three months premature, weighing just one pound and not expected to live, has been a fighter all of his life. And he just can't stop. "For four months I was retired and I was back in that moment when life was very dark and very dull," Fury told BT Sport. "I ain't back boxing for a belt, more money, to win five fights or to unify the division - I'm back boxing because of this," he added, pointing at his head. Fury's battle with mental health problems has been well documented. After he stunned then champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to pick up the IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO belts, Fury spent two and a half years out of the ring. He has since described himself as becoming "a fat pig at 28 stone, drinking and taking drugs on a daily basis" and that he "suffered with depression up to the point of suicide, anxiety attacks, everything, you couldn't get any lower". ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/14BB4/production/_127861948_tysonfury.jpgAfter that victory over Whyte, Fury, with 32 victories and one draw, felt he was slipping back to how he had been in 2017 and had to act. "I know now I can't live a normal life, it's not going to happen. It was going downhill rapidly," said the 34-year-old Morecambe fighter. "I don't know any other way of keeping sane, without boxing I'm nothing. "I'm very selfish because I should've walked away in April when I said I would but I'm back for more punishment, an idiot really, but what can I do?" 'Putting out the bins and picking up dog poo' His former trainer Ben Davison, who helped Fury lose 10 stone to get back in the ring a few years ago, felt Fury did not expect to fight again. "When Tyson said it, he 100% believed in that moment he would retire," Davison told BBC Sport. "But it's probably mental health, he got bored and wanted something to do. "He loves boxing and got back to it. He's a fantastic athlete, always ready to do the rounds, relaxed and in control." Promoter Frank Warren said he was happy Fury was boxing again, but would have told him to quit if it was bad for his health. "He had five months and he was putting the bins out and picking up dog poo - it drove him crazy," Warren told BBC Sport. "He told me he didn't want to fight anymore, but he had said that a couple of times. Whatever he wanted to do I was with him. "If I thought he shouldn't be fighting I'd be the first one to say it. I'd tell him to give it up. He wouldn't be the first fighter I'd said that to." Since his return in 2018, Fury has fought eight times, including a thrilling trilogy with American Deontay Wilder, but has admitted the gruelling fights are taking its toll. "I turned pro at 20, I'm like an old banger Ford Escort with 250,000 miles on the clock," he said. "Every part of me is battered to pieces - joints, elbows, knee, back, I've got some severe mileage on the clock." Former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton, now a BT Sport pundit, feared Fury would have too many fights, but believes he is "in the right head space" for Saturday's event. Frampton said: "I asked him 'at some point it has to end, what do you do then?' "The answer was pretty dark. At some point he's going to have to figure out he can't go on. He can't box when he's 60. "There's other things that can fill that void, maybe training or managing fighters." "My only concern for this fight would be he's beaten Chisora twice before and may overlook him. But if Fury's switched on, he's the best heavyweight of a generation." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/480/cpsprodpb/D684/production/_127861945_tysonfury.jpg

Tyson Fury v Derek Chisora: The 'Gypsy King' retains WBC heavyweight world title as Oleksandr Usyk watches ringside. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/BB7D/production/_127879974_gettyimages-1446550989.jpgTyson Fury claimed the 23rd knockout of his career Tyson Fury retained his WBC world heavyweight title with a brutal stoppage of Derek Chisora to set up an undisputed bout with Oleksandr Usyk. Fury, 34, maintained his unbeaten record in front of 60,000 people at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fellow Briton Chisora, 38, was hurt repeatably by the dominant champion and the referee waved off the one-sided contest in the 10th round. Usyk, holder of the IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA belts, was ringside in London. For Chisora, it was the 13th loss of his 46-fight career. Earlier this week, the pair shook hands and promised to stand toe-to-toe in the opening three minutes with Chisora promising "the best first round the heavyweight game has ever seen". And, in front of an incredible atmosphere - despite the cold conditions at an outdoor December night event in London - the two fighters tried to provide the entertainment they had promised. But the fight did prove a mismatch as Fury was a level above his opponent and can now look forward to a potential undisputed heavyweight showdown with Ukrainian Usyk in 2023. Fury had beaten Chisora in a wide points victory in 2011 when they fought for the British and Commonwealth titles and again three years later when Chisora was retired by his corner at the end of the 10th round in a contest for the British and European belts. There were hopes Chisora could produce a career-defining performance and defy the bookmakers, who had dismissed him as a 14-1 outsider. However, by the second round it became clear this fight was going to go the way of their first two meetings. Chisora tried to force Fury back onto the ropes early on, with a number of punches to the body, but Fury landed a huge overhand right soon after and started to land at will from range. A Fury left hook in the second rocked back Chisora and he ended the round in the corner and in trouble. In the third, both men ended up in a heap on the floor as they lost balance, but it did not matter as Fury took complete control. Chisora, as he has done throughout his 15-year career, gave it everything but was simply outclassed by Fury, whose shot selection, power and ability helped him pick off the rounds with relative ease. Two solid right hooks landed in the sixth and in the seventh as Chisora continued to take a lot of punishment - and the only question was if he could land a wonder shot of his own. He could not and a bad cut developed around his eye in the ninth, before a brutal Fury uppercut in the following round marked the beginning of the end. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/240/cpsprodpb/0008/production/_127880000_gettyimages-1446555775.jpg

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk: Undisputed fight unlikely to happen next, says Usyk's promoter..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/E348/production/_128948185_gettyimages-1446556759.jpgOleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury went face-to-face after Fury's win over Derek Chisora in DecemberThe undisputed heavyweight fight between Briton Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is "unlikely to happen next," according to the Ukrainian's promoter. London's Wembley Stadium was booked for 29th April but Alex Krassyuk says Fury has priced himself out of the bout. Krassyuk says a 60/40 split to the winner was rejected by Fury and Usyk could instead face Daniel Dubois next. "I don't think Fury and Usyk will fight in April - or even next as Usyk has his mandatory obligations," he said. Fury, 34, is the WBC champion and the 36-year-old Usyk holds the WBO, WBA and IBF belts. The WBA said the deadline to agree the unification fight was 22:00 GMT Friday. "After this deadline, the mandatory fight between Usyk and Daniel Dubois will be ordered to be negotiated. #Heavyweight," the organisation tweeted. Speaking to BBC Sport, Krassyuk added: "Unless Queensberry [Fury's promoters] somehow win a jackpot lottery and have enough money to pay Tyson's demands, it is very unlikely to happen." Queensberry Promotions' Frank Warren, who represents Fury, said a decision on the fight "will be decided by this weekend". On Friday, Fury posted on his social media channels offering a 70/30 split. "From every day from today that you linger or mess around, I'll deduct one percent from the 30 per cent," he added on Instagram. Usyk, in a later Instagram video, said he would accept Fury's 70/30 split if the Englishman immediately donated £1m to the people of Ukraine, and also gave up up one percent of of his purse to Ukraine for every day he delayed. The former undisputed cruiserweight champion has won all his 20 professional bouts, while Fury has 33 victories and one draw on his record. 'Usyk won't give up on road to greatness'A potential Fury-Usyk contest to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era was close to being finalised. Saudi Arabia was understood to be the frontrunner as host, but the new Jeddah Stadium could not be completed in the timeframe required by both champions. Wembley Stadium was then provisionally booked and Krassyuk joined Warren on 15th February at Arsenal's home Premier League game against Manchester City to continue negotiations. "Everyone was on board," said Krassyuk. "The only thing that was pending was Tyson Fury's consent, which is still pending." Krassyuk added a 50/50 split was initially agreed, but then Fury increased his demands and later rejected an offer which would see the winner take a larger purse. "We haven't heard anything from Tyson that would be the evidence of his real intention to take part in the fight in London," he said. "Even if Tyson says today he was stupid and has realised he's doing bad things for the fight and says let's fight on April 29, it will still take a certain amount of time to fix the paperwork. "Only a small passage of time will be left for promotion. A fight this big needs to be given time to promote - it is not likely." Fury's team believes even if a deal cannot be agreed for April, the undisputed fight can still happen later this year once each fighter has faced their mandatory challengers. There has not been an undisputed heavyweight fight since 1999 - and no champion in the four-belt era. "The fight we still want is Tyson for the undisputed," Krassyuk added. "It's Usyk's objective. His purpose is to go through all the challenges in the training camp and have four belts around his arm. "I visited him at his training camp and spent quite good time there. He's relaxed, it's his normal state of mind. "Whatever comes, he's grateful to get it. He might be a bit disappointed, but he won't throw in the towel and give up on his road to greatness."

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk: Talks for undisputed heavyweight fight on verge of collapse..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/35F0/production/_129080831_gettyimages-1245342484.jpgichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/11BAF/production/_127832627_bbc-sport-index-imagery-2-split-images-gradient-f2aa58e1-49c2-4ea2-bcba-aebb3ec1c717.pngUnified champion Oleksandr Usyk is set to walk away from talks with Tyson Fury over an undisputed heavyweight fight. The bout was pencilled in for 29th April at Wembley Stadium and Usyk had agreed to a 70/30 split in Fury's favour. But the prospect of an immediate rematch has proved a sticking point during negotiations. WBC champion Fury, 34, is against an immediate rematch clause, while Team Usyk insist they did everything within their power to make the fight happen. Over the weekend Team Fury had thought the deal was done and were even making preparations for an official statement. Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren teased on Twitter on Sunday that news was imminent, but Monday saw the two sides again clash over the prospect of a rematch. Usyk, 36, who is the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and Ring magazine champion, wants a rematch clause just as Briton Anthony Joshua did when they fought in 2021. Joshua was given the chance to immediately regain the titles in Saudi Arabia and Usyk would want the same opportunity if he was beaten. Team Fury feel a rematch is unnecessary, believing the heavyweight titles are due to fracture once the undisputed fight has happened. There has not been an undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield - and never been one in the four-belt era. It is expensive to pay sanctioning fees to four separate bodies and there has been an expectation an undisputed champion could immediately vacate at least one of the titles. The WBA will now look to order Usyk to defend his belt against mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois. The 25-year-old Briton and the WBA were prepared to allow the undisputed fight to happen, but Dubois, who is also promoted by Warren, will now push to face Ukrainian Usyk next.

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk: Promoter Frank Warren says fight could still be saved..
Promoter Frank Warren is planning further talks with Oleksandr Usyk's camp to try to salvage the undisputed heavyweight fight against Tyson Fury.
The bout was pencilled in for 29 April at Wembley Stadium and Usyk had agreed a 70/30 purse split in Fury's favour.
But the terms for an immediate rematch have proved a sticking point, with Team Usyk set to walk away.
Warren said he was hoping to rescue the fight during further talks with Usyk's promoter on Wednesday afternoon.
Representatives for unified champion Usyk say they have done everything within their power to make the bout happen.
"I've sent [Usyk's promoter Alexander Krassyuk] a message and I've had one back. We're going to speak in a couple of hours' time," Fury's co-promoter Warren said.
"I want the fight to happen. It's a very important fight for boxing, it's an important fight for Usyk whose dream is to unify the titles and it's an important fight for Tyson to go and do what he set out to do."
Both parties still have until 1 April to agree a deal after the WBA said it would wait until that date before ordering Usyk to fight mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois.

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk: 'A 14-stone coward' - Fury in foul-mouthed rant at Usyk..ichef.bbci.co.uk/ace/standard/480/cpsprodpb/D92F/production/_129099555_gettyimages-1244100387.jpgTyson Fury has called fellow heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk a "14-stone coward" in an expletive-laden social media post after talks for an undisputed fight broke down. A proposed bout at Wembley Stadium on 29th April fell through this week. Usyk had agreed a 70/30 purse split in Fury's favour with terms for a rematch the only outstanding issue. "Tried all week to get out of it, begging for a rematch," Fury said in an Instagram story on Thursday. In a 50-second clip, which included numerous insults targeted at Usyk, Fury added: "You got your rematch and didn't want to fight at that. You were never man enough to tangle with the Gypsy King ever in your life." Fury currently holds the WBC heavyweight belt, while Ukraine's Usyk - who beat Britain's Anthony Joshua for a second time last year - has the others in the division. After months of negotiations, Fury's promoter, Frank Warren, said on Wednesday the fight is definitely off and "does not think" it will happen in the future. Usyk, the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and Ring magazine champion, wants a proposed rematch to happen in November or December, but there are fears among Team Fury that the four belts would have fractured by then. If the Ukrainian overcame Fury in their first fight, he would also expect an improved purse split in a rematch. Both parties have until 1 April to agree a deal after the WBA said it will wait until that date before ordering Usyk to fight mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois. "Keep running," Fury continued. "Fight Dubois at the Copper Box now." Londoner Dubois, meanwhile, has said he "definitely, 100%" wants a world-title shot next. He told Pitch Boxing: "Why not go for the big one now? I'm 100% going for it and I believe I can knock him [Usyk] out." There has not been an undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield - and never been one in the four-belt era.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou, 36, has no professional record in boxing. Team Fury say the fight is not an exhibition and will "take place under the official rules of professional boxing, with three judges ringside adopting the 10-point must system". Fury will not be defending his WBC title in the Riyadh bout. "This guy is supposed to be the hardest puncher in the world, but let's see how he reacts when he gets hit by the Big GK," Fury said, referring to his 'Gypsy King' nickname. Ngannou said it was a dream come true to box Fury. "I've been waiting to meet Tyson in the ring for the past three years," he said. "All I will say to Tyson for now is he better dance in that ring because if I touch him, he's going to sleep." ichef.bbci.co.uk/images/ic/640x360/p07sr9pm.jpgFrancis NgannouThe WBC said it would not be involved in the fight but had granted Fury "special permission" to compete in a non-title bout as he has no pending mandatory challenger in place. Fury has gone with a left-field option after failing to agree terms with Oleksandr Usyk over an undisputed fight earlier this year. Fury's co-promoter Frank Warren also suggested that fight is unlikely to happen in 2023 after Usyk signed with Saudi Arabia's Skill Challenge Promotions. "They're saying that will be in February next year," Warren said of Team Usyk. "If everyone were to sit around waiting for them we'd have a problem. We're not sitting about, we're getting on with it." Ukrainian Usyk is set to defend his titles against his WBA mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois in August and had hoped to fight Fury in December. Fury has faced criticism for failing to reach terms with Usyk and his choice of opponent, but Warren said the 34-year-old was not avoiding any fighter. "For anyone to talk about Tyson ducking anyone is absolutely beyond ridiculous," Warren said. "Because he's the best heavyweight of his generation. None of them, and I represent interim champions and those fighting for world titles... Tyson is the best of his generation at this moment in time." Can Ngannou make the boxing transition ? ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/3EF3/production/_130351161_gettyimages-1237936379.jpgNgannou has 17 wins and just three losses in his MMA careerNgannou held ambitions of being a boxer early in his career before focusing his full attention on MMA. "This is my opportunity to make that dream come true and cement my position as the baddest man on the planet," he said. The Cameroonian-French fighter was an instant success in the UFC due to his ferocious knockout ability and became the heavyweight champion in 2021. Ngannou defended his title once in January 2022 but left the UFC this year amid a deterioration of his relationship with the MMA promotion and its president Dana White. The PFL announced in May that Ngannou had signed a deal with them, but that agreement only covers MMA and does not prevent Ngannou from competing in boxing. While Ngannou has no professional boxing background, his MMA record shows 17 wins in 20 fights, with 12 knockouts. Ngannou has said he wants to compete in both codes, which has proven a tall ask for seasoned MMA fighters in the past. Conor McGregor, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva have all struggled to adjust to the demands of boxing. But Holly Holm successfully competed in both sports, winning multiple world championships in boxing and becoming bantamweight champion in the UFC.

Oleksandr Usyk's promoter says he has an 'obligation' to deliver undisputed fight with Tyson Fury..By Kal Sajad, BBC Sport in Wroclaw, Poland.

Unified champion Usyk, 36, defends his WBA (Super), WBO and IBF titles against Briton Daniel Dubois on Saturday. Talks for a historic fight against Britain's WBC champion Fury broke down earlier this year. "It's our obligation to deliver this fight," Usyk's promoter Alexander Krassyuk said. "The whole world wants to see this fight. Not just ourselves or people involved in boxing, but the whole world. "People who know nothing about boxing would love to see the heavyweight undisputed fight for the four belts for the first time in the four-belt era. "I can promise you and promise all the fans around the world that I will do everything that i can and depend on me to make this fight happen." Olympic gold medallist and former undisputed cruiserweight champion Usyk is undefeated in 20 professional fights. He dethroned Briton Anthony Joshua to become a two-weight champion in September 2021 before winning a rematch 11 months later. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/35F0/production/_129080831_gettyimages-1245342484.jpgFury, 35, has won 33 fights with one draw since turning professional in 2008. 'The Gypsy King' will face MMA fighter Francis Ngannou in a non-title bout on 28th October in Saudi Arabia, a move which Usyk says is "not good" for boxing. Ngannou has no professional record in boxing and there is no clarification whether the contest will count as an official bout. "I think it's easy money for Tyson Fury," Usyk said. "For me it looks a little bit strange, too strange. "A guy who is WBC heavyweight champion instead of fighting a guy from the top 10, suddenly chooses the guy as his opponent coming from the UFC. For Ngannou, this is cool. But for Tyson Fury, it isn't. "Your perception and my perception are different. You treat it like a show, I treat it as an athlete. If he chooses this way, OK I respect his choice." Fury faced criticism for failing to reach terms with Usyk after a proposed bout at London's Wembley Stadium in April fell through. It paved the way for WBA (Regular) champion Dubois, 25, to challenge for Usyk's belt in Wroclaw, Poland. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/F5DA/production/_123483926_usyk_getty.jpgUsyk - who is a heavy favourite against the Londoner - does not believe a fight with Fury, and becoming a two-weight undisputed champion, is the final piece to complete his legacy. "No, it is not the final point," he said. "I am 36, but this is just the beginning. I started boxing at the age of 15. It's just the beginning now. "I do realise there are not many years left for me in boxing and I don't want to spend much time in boxing. I want to take my kids to school and whatever." Despite Krassyuk's confidence a deal can be reached, British promoter Frank Warren - who represents both Dubois and Fury - believes the younger Briton could stop that from happening. "How's it going to happen [now] when Daniel wins?" asked Warren. "I think our man beats him. Our man beats him and if he beats him then Usyk is out of the picture. Then we'll see where we go from there." ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/8D85/production/_130892263_gettyimages-1620365937-1.jpg

Tyson Fury v Francis Ngannou: Briton wants boxing world to laugh at him if he loses to MMA star..By Kal Sajad, BBC Sport at Outernet, London.
ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/F5FB/production/_131017926_dee19e9131283b7acd3c9a137b480c11ec10a7a5.jpg Francis Ngannou's record in MMA is 17 wins in 20 fightsTyson Fury says the boxing world should "laugh" at him if he is beaten by Francis Ngannou in their fight in Saudi Arabia on 28th October. Heavyweight world champion Fury, 35, will face former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou, who has no professional record in boxing. Briton Fury's WBC title will not be on the line against against Ngannou. "I need to be on my A-game," Fury said. "There's more on the line now than in a boxing fight." Fury and 37-year-old Ngannou came face-to-face at a news conference on Thursday in London, which was heavily saturated by references and compliments to Saudi Arabia. The country has been criticised for using sport to sportwash their image and have reportedly paid millions to bring Fury's bout with Ngannou to the region. Their contest will take place under the official rules of professional boxing, with three judges ringside adopting the 10-point must system. Fury is a two-time world champion and defeated Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December to extend his unbeaten record to 33 wins and one draw. "If I lose to an MMA guy I'll never be able to show my face in public again," he added. "It's going to ridicule me - people will chuck it at me forever. The Morecambe fighter's decision to fight boxing novice Ngannou rather than a credible opponent has been lambasted by purists, particularly after super fights against Anthony Joshua and unified champion Oleksandr Usyk could not be agreed. "There's more riding on this than ever before," Fury said. "Whether the media want to take it as a joke, make no mistake Tyson Fury will leave zero stones unturned and I will come in as my fittest and strongest I've ever been to defeat this man. "If I'm not and I get knocked out, then I want you all to laugh at me. That's what I want, because I deserve it."

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk: Undisputed fight signed and to take place in Saudi Arabia..By Kal Sajad, BBC Sport.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article31068645.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_MIRROR-UK-Tyson-Fury-vs-Oleksandr-Usyk-megafight-faces-key-issue-hours-after-being-signed.jpgTyson Fury - Age: 35 - 34 fights - 33 wins - 1 draw..................Oleksandr Usyk - Age: 36 - 21 fights 21 winsAn historic undisputed heavyweight fight between champions Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been signed and will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Additional details, including the fight date, are yet to be announced. Briton Fury, 35, is the WBC champion and Ukraine's Usyk, 36, holds the WBA, WBO and IBF titles. "Delighted to finally get this fight signed," said Queensbury promoter Frank Warren. "This is the biggest fight that could possibly be made in our sport." The winner will be crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era. The targeted date is 23rd December, although the fight could be pushed back to early next year. Fury has won 33 fights with one draw since turning professional in 2008. 'The Gypsy King' must first come through a non-title bout against MMA star Francis Ngannou uninjured on 28 October in Riyadh. Usyk - who has won all 21 pro bouts - defended his titles against Londoner Daniel Dubois in August. "The heavyweights always spark the imagination of the fans, and I have no doubt this will be the biggest boxing event of the century," Warren added. Fury faced criticism for failing to reach terms with Usyk after a proposed bout at London's Wembley Stadium in April fell through. "I can't believe that it's happening but it is," Usyk's promoter Alexander Krassyuk said. There has not been an undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 when Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield to defend the WBA, WBC and IBF titles. "Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are the two greatest heavyweights of their generation, and I can't wait to see what happens when they step into the ring in Riyadh," Fury's co-promoter Bob Arum said. "They are special talents worthy of competing for the greatest prize in sports." The fight will form part of 'Riyadh Season' - an entertainment events festival held in Saudi Arabia's capital every winter since its launch in 2019. A number of high-profile bouts have been held in Saudi in recent years, including Usyk's win over Anthony Joshua in August 2022. The Gulf kingdom has been accused of investing in sport and using high-profile events to improve its international reputation. Saudi Arabia has been criticised for its human rights violations - 81 men were executed on one day last year - women's rights abuses, the criminalisation of homosexuality, the restriction of free speech and the war in Yemen. Its international standing was severely damaged by the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a US-based Saudi journalist who was a prominent critic of the government. Human rights campaigners say sport is being used by the Saudi government to distract from long-standing reputation issues. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/D05B/production/_131293335_bbc-sport-index-imagery-2-split-images-gradient-97262f37-46da-4221-8db8-c08480e419df.pngUsyk and Fury are both undefeated in their pro careersFury won his first world title after dethroning Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, before takin a hiatus from the sport. After well-documented issues with mental health, he returned more than two and a half years later. He contested a trilogy with Deontay Wilder and, having drawn the first fight, beat the American in 2020 to become WBC champion. Fury won the third fight with hard-hitting Wilder and has since defended his belt against Britons Dillian Whyte and Derek Chisora. Usyk is one of the most decorated fighters in world boxing. The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist became undisputed world champion before dethroning Briton Joshua in 2021. Analysis - the winner will earn greatness statusIt is the announcement everybody wanted but nobody expected, especially just before close of play on a Friday. The biggest possible fight in world boxing has been signed. Fury and Usyk have put their differences aside. It does not get bigger than this. For so long boxing lovers have been left frustrated with the state of the heavyweight division. Why aren't the best fighting the best? Fury's fight with Ngannou - a boxing novice - in particular left a bad taste. But now we can finally get the answer as to who is the top heavyweight boxer in the world. Fury and Usyk will both one day enter the hall of fame. The winner of this fight, however, will earn greatness status. There will still be some wondering why there is no date. Both sides are aiming for 23rd December, but that will leave Fury just eight weeks to prepare after his 'fight' with Ngannou. Riyadh season runs until March so it could take place at any point over the next six months. Some may remain sceptical all the way up until both men are in the ring and the first bell chimes.

Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk unlikely to happen until next year - Frank Warren..
i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article31068653.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_GettyImages-1446556759.jpgThe undisputed heavyweight fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is unlikely to happen until next year, says promoter Frank Warren. Fury beat Francis Ngannou on Saturday via a controversial split decision in a non-title fight in Saudi Arabia. Briton Fury is the WBC champion and has agreed to fight Ukraine's Usyk, who holds the three other world titles. "We were going to do it on 23 December. I doubt that will happen now," Warren told the 5 Live boxing podcast. "Tyson can't be going into a camp after a tough fight like that. That's eight weeks away. "He needs at least a bit of time to get himself, his body, back into shape. Let it heal. Then get into a camp. It will be on early next year." WBA, WBO and IBF champion Usyk was ringside in Riyadh and the two faced off in the ring after the fight. Usyk later insisted the fight had to happen on 23rd December. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article31306638.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/0_GettyImages-1762266257.jpg"We have a contract that says the fight has to take place on 23rd December. Let Fury vacate his title first, then he can take his rest," he told Boxing King Media. Negotiations for a meeting between Fury and Usyk went on for the best part of a year until it was agreed in September. A fight against Fury, which would crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era, would form part of 'Riyadh Season' - an entertainment events festival held in Saudi Arabia's capital every winter since 2019. "'Riyadh season' finishes in March, so [Fury-Usyk] could take place up until March," Warren said. Fury-Ngannou also formed part of 'Riyadh Season', with the Saudi Arabian government reportedly paying big money to host the crossover bout. However, the country's increased involvement in global sport has proved controversial. Saudi Arabia's increasing desire to host elite sporting events - including boxing matches, an annual Formula 1 race and a bid for the 2034 World Cup - has brought scrutiny because of the country's poor human rights record. Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince, said in September he "does not care" about accusations the country is "sportswashing" - namely, investing in sport and using high-profile events to quell criticism of its practices and improve its international reputation. French-Cameroonian Ngannou is a former UFC heavyweight champion who was making his boxing debut in Riyadh. The 37-year-old novice came close to pulling off one the greatest shocks in boxing history against the undefeated Fury - a man considered by many as the best heavyweight boxer in the world. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/C797/production/_131559015_getty.jpgUsyk and Fury are both undefeated in their pro careers Ngannou dropped Fury in round three after connecting with a left hook. One judge scored it 95-94 in favour of the debutant, two gave it to Fury at 96-93 and 95-94. "I thought Tyson won it, I thought he won by three rounds at least," Warren said. The Queensberry promoter said he has advised Fury to take some time off after Ngannou gave him "the toughest fight he's had in the last three fights". "I said go have a break. You don't need to make any decisions tonight. You do it to your agenda," Warren added. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn echoed some boxing fans and fighters on social media, who felt Ngannou should have been awarded the decision. Hearn felt Ngannou won "by two rounds" and "Tyson Fury looked like he's never laced a pair of gloves before". Speaking to Matchroom Boxing's YouTube channel, Hearn called for Fury to offer Ngannou a rematch or face Britain's two-time world champion Anthony Joshua. "Forget Fury v Usyk, give us 'AJ' v Fury," he said. "AJ will knock Tyson Fury out within six rounds. Make the fight otherwise we'll never get it."
