So Orients's top 2 aims were keeping Bonne (so far so good) and Adams. Adams has tuned them down to go to Ebbsfleet - as he felt they were more "ambitious". Definitely one in the b*llocks for Orient fans. I am very surprised Adams hasn't gone to a League Club. IMHO he could easily be a League 1 player on day. But what do I know...

Early days, but from a "watching game"s perspective it's Orient 2 (one on BT Sports) vs Bristol Rovers 0. O's 1 Ebbsfleet 1. Entertaining game. New chap Alabi (ex Tranmere) partnered Bonne up front. They will score a lot of goals this season. Note to AMPG - Jonathan Miles (GK) was on the bench for Ebbsfleet. Both sides should be top third come the end of the season. Adams got a predictable tirade of abuse and got hauled off quite early. O's unlucky not to take all 3 points - an injury time deflection robbed them. Jobi MacAnuff at the age of 35 comfortably man of the match. Sort of looking forward to Braintree / Orient. I have some old ghosts to lay to rest.

Long time no post on the subject... Orient up as Champions on the back of two 0-0 results (and Salford contriving to lose their last two games). That is so Orient. Jobi MacAnuff is now 37 and had a storming season. Bonne's goals dried up a bit in the latter half of the season - but would still like to see him at the Mem as a belated replacement for Ellis. Orient fans obviously very happy and looking forward to next season back in Div 2.

Really delighted for Orient, play in a sixes tournament put on by their supporters and they're a great bunch.

Fingers crossed Solihull can come up with them, that would be a triumph for financial planning over the financial doping going on at Salford.

Fingers crossed Solihull can come up with them, that would be a triumph for financial planning over the financial doping going on at Salford. Solihul are marginally tighter in the betting at 13-8 rather than 15-8. I don't think anyone 'wants' Salford to go up (sorry Gaffers). This is the start of the new play-off system where 2nd and 3rd are in the semis automatically. Semis are a one-off game. 2nd and 3rd have home advantage vs the winners of 4th vs 7th and 5th vs 6th. (These are both one-off games with 4th and 5th with home advantage). So although there are more sides in the playoffs, there is a big advantage in finishing 2nd/3rd. Which is a good thing. So interesting to see how the system plays out as I think it's fairer and could be coming to the EFL. Conference South is more confusing as Concord have been denied a place in the play-off due to their ground not being up to scratch. I digress. I apologise.

My partner's family are all big Orient fans and she was working Saturday so I was sending updates. It's been a dreadful few years for the club and this makes a deserved comeback. I will be at the FA Trophy Final against Fylde (who will probably turn-up with about 7 fans especially if they get to the playoff final which they may well do) and it will be nice to be in a chilled out celebration for once. I was there last time they had their last soul crushing Wembley disaster-it was the first time I met her family and it was the same year Rovers got relegated out of the league so I felt completely cursed. Pretty sure they all secretly blame me for everything terrible that's happened to Orient since!

Orient have sold over 21,000 for the game. I'll be the one wearing the blue & white quarters. Should be a good day out...

I note Fylde are now in the Conference playoff final so I remain committed to my predictions all their 'fans' will be showing up to the Trophy final in a minibus. Salford v Fylde in the 'teams everyone else in non-league will be delighted to say good riddance to derby'.

As you say... not 'liked' teams in the National League. I think the Gas/Grimsby attendance record (47,029) is probably safe. Since play-offs were introduced (I have way too much time on my hands): 2003 13,092 Dagenham / Doncaster 2004 19,216 Aldershot / Shrewsbury 2005 13,422 Stevenage / Carlisle 2006 15,499 Halifax / Hereford 2007 40,043 Exeter / Morecambe 2008 42,511 Cambridge / Exeter 2009 35,089 Cambridge / Torquay 2010 42,669 Oxford / York 2011 18,195 Wimbledon / Luton 2012 39,265 Luton / York 2013 16,346 Wrexham / Newport 2014 19,613 Cambridge / Gateshead 2015 47,029 Gas / Grimsby 2016 17,198 FGR / Grimsby 2017 18,801 FGR / Tranmere 2018 16,306 Boreham Wood / Tranmere

A bit depressing what's happened to Tranmere's support base though. Used to be a fairly big club. It will be interesting to see how many United day trippers Salford tempt to Wembley.

Attendance was a shade over 8,000. Sounds like there will be more Orient fans in Hamilton Hall (Liverpool Street Street Station) than Fylde fans at Wembley today for the Trophy game! If you're going Irish - I'll either be in quarters or a black Union Berlin away shirt...

AFC Fylde 1 Leyton Orient 0 Att: 42,962 I tipped Fylde to go up this season, probably next now. Shocking first half. Orient have had 3 weeks off and were playing in flip-flops. Fylde scored a neat free kick and Orient sort of came to life afterwards. They looked better with Matt Harrold up front alongside Bonne and Koroma... but sadly he was then in an off-side position, blocking Orient's best chance of equalizing. Andy Bond Fylde (yes him!) had 3 really good chances and fluffed his lines. The memories come flooding back. The attendance was not that. That is an unbelievably over-inflated number that only Arsenal would have the audacity to make up. Around 23,000 Orient (well more like 15,000 Orient and lots of wham, arse, spuds and Gas). 2,000 Fylde? 3,000 Chertsey & Cray Valley? 42,962 my arse. Wembley facilities: Abysmal. 20 minute queue for the gentlemans washroom facilities. No urinals! WTF! Queuing like a load of birds at a Take That concert for the individual cubicles. 20 minute queue for an over-priced beer (£5.30 for 500ml of budweiser). Veeerry slowly decanted from a bottle into a plastic glass. Veeeerry slowly, one bottle by one painful bottle. Food queues - people may have died of malnutrition. There may be a famine in north west London that has gone unreported by the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation. Absolute f*cki*g farce. Our National Stadium? Really? Christ know how bad it is when a decent crowd turn up. In the words of Cockney Nan (it was Orient after all): "What a load of old sh*t".

I actually quite enjoyed my day out though Wembley's normal failings notwitchstanding. I think Orient had half an eye on the beech and to be fair it must be quite tough to have done the tough job of getting promoted and then having to get up again for this game. I bet a few of them were probably secretly annoyed they had to play in it - I know that's not supposed to be the attitude but it must be tricky to keep the intensity going. I didn't the impression Orient fans were all that bothered either. They still should have gotten something out of it - hitting woodwork 3 times was a bit ridiculous! I feel a bit of a fraud and a bit of a bad luck chimes. I've been to see Orient twice, both times it was at Wembley and both times they lost. I must at least try and get to Brisbane Road at some point next year - but possibly they won't want me there!

Found this on another site which explains it better than the BBC site.

FA Trophy final: AFC Fylde v Leyton Orient Kick-off: 16:15 BST

The only way they could get to 42,962 that I can think of... take the Orient/Fylde attendance and double it because there were two games on.

Played in a sixes tournament hosted by Orient supporters on Saturday, we were in the pub when the news broke. A lot of sadness but not much surprise. Edinburgh had done a cracking job there and was well liked, I really difficult job for whoever comes in next.
