Rovers will today be looking for their first Boxing Day football league victory for ELEVEN years since 2005 when 7,500 gasheads left the Mem celebrating a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town. Those with good memories may recall goals from the popular Craig Disley and a Junior Agogo penalty saw us win.

The last tome I saw Coventry play in a competitive match, was also on a Boxing Day in Bristol - they lost 5-0.
That was in 1978 and back then the male members of the extended family would all attend the Boxing Day game, whoever was at home (mum's side favouring the red side). Despite the goal-feast, and being 'top-flight football', I remember nothing of the game (would have been 9). All I can recall is being stood in the corner on the open terrace, nearest the Williams Stand, and the shape of railings in front of me. I was already that much entrenched in all things blue & white quartered that the game meant nothing to me, the teams meant nothing, I was bored out of my mind, and just trying to find other things to look at to occupy my time.

Just hope we go conventional 4-4-2, and at em from the off.
We need a convincing, dominant performance to boost confidence ahead of two London team fixtures that will be tough matches..
Gas to win 3-0. Hope not an awful chocolate brown away kit!
COME ON YOU BLUES!

Surprised Puddy and Bodin playing after their displays last Sat.Pleased Monty starts. One mistake doesn't mean Puddy should be dropped, Roos was allowed at least half a dozen before he was dropped. 4-4-2 is back by popular demand, lets hope it works better than it did against Charlton. Pics on twitter of new seats in the executive boxes, strange to invest in luxury seats when the stadium is due to be demolished in 2 years time.

So 4-4-f**k*ng-2 with 2 wide players in mid-field. Sounds like a fairly straight forward plan that we could use in future. UTG!

First of all... IN YOUR SMARMY FACE, TWATOLA!
Just sayin..
My observations thus far: You can f in tinker all you like, but the balance of authentic 4-4-2 reaped rewards today with a good all round performance. Sometimes, just sometimes Bassey got it all wrong....diamonds aren't forever. We should seriously think about dropping that tactic as it displaces players.
Taylor/Gaff running brilliant. Helped create space for Bodin first and pulled their defence all over place.
Bodin back to the form we remember from last season. So pleased for him. Ably supported by Leads. His running and beating of two players which led to his 3rd was sublime.
Hartley (apart from being turned in first half) competent performance and took his goal well.
Our mid of Ollie and Lines look well balanced and disciplined. We weren't over run, looked in control and supportive of behind and in front when needed. The flank players played well getting back and helping out.
Cov not bad going forward. Sodell was a menace, as was their tricky number 11 whom resorted to fouling if he couldn't beat Leads, more than once. But defensively awful. Let in too many crosses and hardly blocked any shots, exposing unconfident 'keeps.
Great turn out of 11,200 sees us deservedly jump up a couple of places.
Fine performance. I would say best home performance of season. Well done the lads for bouncing back in style and playing the right way..
Onwards and upwards, bring on the wombats...and the wombles....UptheGas!

It wasn't poor. We murdered them. Couple of spanners near us were not happy unless they were moaning. Apparently after Billy messed up his first chance, he had been "s**t all game". (He'd been brilliant). By the time his second went in, he'd been "brilliant all game". Twats. Nobody had a bad game. Apart from Billy, Lines, Danny, Hartley, Gaffney, Monty and Captain Marvel were all magnificent.

A crowd of 11,200 today, so has anyone worked out the revenue for the gate?
I think that we can all take it as read that it'll be a similar gate against the Wombles, so an excellent finish to 2016 . . . through the turnstiles at least.
