Some of our loans have been OK despite the bad run we're on. The Chelsea pair have something about them and are talented footballers but today we started and finished with 10 players who played a major part in our success last season and 8 players who were with us in the Conference. The team were quick and played with a familiar system that they are all familiar with. Yes, Coventry were a poor side but you can only beat what's there and we did it today. We might need to strengthen in certain areas but the players responded well to last week and DC also answered some of his critics with a well thought out plan. I love this squad, they get stick deservedly in some cases but they respond in the right way. I think we are far better than AFCW, let's hope we can prove it at the weekend. UTG!

A crowd of 11,200 today, so has anyone worked out the revenue for the gate? I think that we can all take it as read that it'll be a similar gate against the Wombles, so an excellent finish to 2016 . . . through the turnstiles at least. To paraphrase Jaws.....we're gonna need a bigger ground

UTG! i think the loans have been poor mostly, very poor actually,i do wonder what we could do if we could just add 2 players that actually would improve this great bunch that have served us so well in the 2 promotions.

Billy Bodin: 3 goals and 2 assists. Think I can forgive him not taking his best chance. I was a bit worried with him taking the penalty - he had no players to weave his way around, or defenders to bend his shot around.

I think it would have been sold out (home fans) had Bristol Rugby not been playing at the same time (they had over 16K watching them). There will be Bristol rugby fans that favour Rovers when it comes to football, and go along to the odd Rovers game when they're free. Likewise, visa-versa, there are some for whom football comes first, but if Rovers aren't playing will go along to the odd Bristol Rugby game (although that number may be dropping nowadays). There were people outside the Mem yesterday, before the game, who had obviously made a last minute decision, asking if anyone had spare tickets.

His second wasn't bad either. 😁 Great decision by the ref, I was about to moan about the foul in the build up then saw his play on signal leading to the goal.

Great decision by the ref at Wolverhampton too, the ball must have been several yards over the line to my certain knowledge. Well, based on what ''Squeeker'' Johnson said it was at any rate.

Nice to see most players in the starting 11 playing to their potential what a difference that makes to the performance shame Taylor seems to have his mind on other things at the moment nice touch letting bodin take the penalty perhaps Taylor had a feeling he would miss bodin in starting lineup about time goalscorers are like gold dust you need to build the team around them until it works.

I've been saying this for ages, that squad from the Conference & L2 contained some great players, many still doing a brilliant job in L1 yet still some get "the playing above their level" comment time & again. Good players, good team spirit and good squad. Anyone joining us has to fit in with that but be better players. Our Summer additions in general were not!

Rovers will today be looking for their first Boxing Day victory for ELEVEN years since 2005 when 7,500 gasheads left the Mem celebrating a 2-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town. Those with good memories may recall goals from the popular Craig Disley and a Junior Agogo penalty saw us win. We beat Torquay away 2 seasons ago.

Anything that occurs outside of the FL doesn't count in the history of football according to HB. But the day in question was a decent one, football wise. We escaped with the win after a late linesmans flag, when a 10-1 score line really wouldn't have flattered us. Probably the most sided game of football I have ever seen. The weather was atrocious and I was flued up for a week after that Plainmoore visit. Good times.

Agreed .....not included in FL records so did not exist .....Conference season erased from the memory. Alfreton Town who are they

A good day out and my first and only wearing of the beautiful Irvin pilots jacket I got as a Xmas prezzie. Not been cold enough to wear it since
