Assume there's no danger of this one getting called off now?
Never been before, trust things have changed a bit and those not looking for trouble are unlikely to find it?

Been loads of times, never any trouble, although it was a bit tense the year Disley nicked the points in the last minute.
My advice would be to drink well away from the ground, then get the train in and out. There's not a lot to see around the ground anyway.

Think alot of it is common sense.
If go in singing 'leave it aaaaat' I'm a c o ck ney w@nker, I'm a bow legged hen' 'millwall ran on panorama' or anything like that, it's only fair to say there may be some robust reprisals.
Wearing colours too. Although that usually excludes you from Stone Island Burberry brigade, I would say it makes a target.
Mate says on some high profile matches millwall banned meet up in pubs around London Bridge..
If genuinely not interested in aggro, drink away from stadium in family food serving pubs, cover up colours and keep mouth shut. Until get in the ground!

Cheers Gents, was planning on going to one of the craft breweries on the Bermondsey Beer Mile for pre-match drinking, getting the train to South Bermondsey as it apparently has a segregated walkway which takes you direct to the away turnstile and my clothing choices will probably be an All Saints Coat, Topman jeans and Adidas trainers.

There's very interesting politics involving the attempted compulsory purchase of land at the new den, offshore 'development' consortiums and very shady current and ex-councillors in bed with the outside investors. Milwall want to develop the nearby land for a football and mixed community function. The offshore hiding investors don't. It would be an olive branch to millwall to support their defence of land for the local community. After a further 20 years of gentrification perhaps the local supporter base may die out!?!

Never had a problem at Millwall (Old and New Den) - though admittedly drinking in the Rose of Kent before a Millwall / Gas game with colours on did get me a bit of attention. Drinking round London Bridge / Borough High Street / Borough Market should be fine. Never been refused entry in those pubs and always worn quarters. Nearer the ground (and particularly at South Bermondsey station) - colours best hidden. Bermondsey Beer Mile - don't know it. You are sarf the river and deep in their territory though. Top Tip. As long as there's not too much injury time - at final whistle leg it to South Bermondsey along the dedicated walkway - and you will be back at London Bridge before Millwall even get to the station. Miss that train and it can get a little tense. Millwall have some serious issues with the sh*t over the last few years. They kind of 'like' us. A bit. Leave it aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Done the trip a few times, getting off at Surrey Quays underground. At the start there were lots of police along the last half mile or so, but last time none. I do now, to save time, walk up the dedicated away path to South B, but in the end you are on the same platform as home fans. I've had more trouble in the ground when a group of 'security' in black bomber jackets wanted to throw me out for not sitting in the seat they wanted me to sit in, luckily Ron Craig, God rest him, was walking through the crowd and stepped in.

Went in the home end for my only visit to date, in September 2014. Mate of mine working in London at the time, so seized the chance to check it out.
They were playing Forest (apparently there is some history there, as there is with everyone) and I have never known a more hateful atmosphere. I was sat behind the goal at the other end of the ground from the Forest fans, but still had to endure the word Cant every 30 seconds for the entire game. No problems to and from the ground with me and my mate keeping ourselves to ourselves. Didn't see a single away shirt away from the ground either.
Anyway it was a god awful 0-0 with Ollie & Stuart Pearce conjuring up a right heap of s***.

Maybe going slightly off topic here but when I were a lad back in the day (mid-late 60's) I do recall being amazed at the scenes at a Celtic v Dynamo Kiev game I went to. Fans jumping through turnstiles to avoid paying, Old Bill seriously battering whoever (both sides seemed to enjoy it) drinking (and urinating) just about everywhere (had to watch your back there!) And that was before the singing of seemingly open Republican supporting songs beyond my comprehension. Oh...and 10 bob to "watch the car" from some of the local "yoof". Made Eastville seem like a rest home.....until Arsenal arrived in the cup. Happy days......!

Also got chased after playing Millwall away circa 70's thought my prayers had been answered as we ran into a conveniently placed police station for safety only to be told by the guy on the desk to f**k off and get out thankfully times have changed and gasheads should turn up in numbers we need 3 points.

I was there last game of the season 1975 we sent them down to this day I have never seen anything like it and I've been to all the big derbies around the country and a veteran of many an old firm games Jim eadie saved a penalty to keep us up and send them down the scenes that followed I will take to the grave only time I've really feared I was going to die at a football match every one of them was at it hope all going Saturday stay safe UTG

While some would say these history lessons are interesting, they're not relevant to visiting The New Den these days. No reason at all why anyone who wasn't deliberately looking for it would find trouble at Millwall nowadays.

Yet when I Google Millwall fans,I see that last Thursday 3 Millwall fans were sent to prison and 4 given suspended prison sentences for violence in Peterborough...maybe these were the last 3 troublesome Millwall fans and so its absolutely certain that there will be no trouble now....unless your looking for it of course.
I think that there are many places that violence can take place and its easy to be caught up in it,just be a bit aware and sensible.

Being aware and sensible forms part of not looking for trouble, in my book.

I wouldn't say that going for a quiet drink or wearing your team's colours was 'deliberately looking for trouble' but this is from the Football Ground Guide: 'There are not many pubs located near to the stadium and those should be avoided by away supporters. If travelling by train then it is probably best to grab a beer around London Bridge before moving onto the ground. I would advise keeping any colours covered, even when drinking in the London Bridge area'. Going by train from London Bridge is fine as you are directed to an away fans only passageway to the ground. Coming back is a different story when all the fans mingle on the platform. Very unpleasant when we got a late equaliser a few years ago ( Lewis Haldane?) and a number of their older followers were looking for anyone from Bristol. Few police and very intimidating. I also remember a man, who had two children with him in I believe the family enclosure to the side of the away end, spending the entire game shouting abuse at us. Millwall changed? You're having a laugh.

I've always felt sorry for the decent majority that follow Millwall, tainted by the reputation of the others.
A while back at the Mem I remember a couple of songs from the North Bank, aimed at the away end, and wondering whether they'd actually looked down to see there were only a few hundred there, and all normal, civilised folk.
I can't ever remember any problems between our teams. There was that one occasion, 'Micky Barret's Game', where Micky inspired a late comeback to win 3-2 at Eastville, in 1984, when free tickets had been given away to school kids. It was a mid-week game, and the free tickets were for the open end. At the time I thought it was a crazy idea to put them in with Millwall fans, but very few must have travelled - the ones that did must have been most bemused by a couple of hundred kids running about them, playing touch and bulldog!
Been to The Den once, mini bus from Bath, early 90s, think we won 1-0, David Mehew. The New Den once, think we lost 2-0, Ronnie Mauge in the away end on crutches. Got the over-ground train from London Bridge, don't remember it being segregated though, perhaps it's changed.
I think I'm right in saying there have been a few landmark games between us. The last ever game at The Den, 3-1 win I think, with Mike Davis scoring. I'm sure there was at least one other like this, perhaps the first league game at The Den was between us?
