Interesting now our highest paid manager. Interesting how 'significant' that is not knowing what previous managers were paid.
Players have been paid well in the past, no idea about in the dugout

Why? He was definitely wanted by Leeds, nobody said a deal was done. You'd be insane to joined Cellino's circus unless you were desperate. So was Robinson (ahead of DC) and no doubt one or two others. And?

Fantastic news! Upwards and Onwards. A real statement of intent and a major test passed by the new owners. The Jordanian magic gold dust is still working.

There is going to be a fair few people disappointed about this.
I wonder how many managers were hoping Darrell would leave so that they could join us because clearly our club is on the up and is going places. They would have seen us a the perfect job. New stadium (hopefully) and new owners with a big fan base and a double promotions.
Like I said, there will be a few people disappointed about this.

If that isn't a sign of intent from Wael and the BoD then what will satisfy the snipers, not only will DC become the best paid manager at the club in it's history but he will also be given a fantastic budget to work with to realise his ambitions as a manager to manage as far up the FL as possible, onwards and upwards, great new, keeps the momentum going IMO. Hopefully they'll up there offer to Billy Bodin to stop him going to Gillingham

so Leeds United will not be amused ...but Jim Chappell and us all will be Are you sure Jim will be, Harry? After all DC didn't want an open bus tour... Seriously though great news and let's hope this encourages the players to sign early so we can be fully ready for the new season. Jim Chappell does not think this is as big news as us coming third. He is going to Drive DC down the Gloucester road with his head out of the Sun Roof!!

Good. Now, especially if we just ignore Jim Chappell, we can go back to being happy rather than distraught. Our new owners (despite Jim Chappell rant) are professional and businessmen - we are in good hands

DC wins all ways up
stays with a club run by sanity and able to continue the good work
thanks to Leeds interest probably got an extra nought on the contract... Quids in!

Well this is good news - should certainly make our offseason somewhat more straight forward than it otherwise would have been. Onwards and upwards.

Bristol Rovers chairman reveals what persuaded Darrell Clarke to stayBy JamesMcNamara | Posted: May 27, 2016 Chairman Steve Hamer believes that the chance to be part of an "exciting" future from the "foundations upwards" at Bristol Rovers persuaded Darrell Clarke to reject the advances of Leeds United Rovers have confirmed this morning that Clarke has agreed in principle to the terms of a new and improved three-year-deal to being an end to speculation that he was set to take over at Elland Road. Read more: John Sheridan favourite for Leeds United job with Darrell Clarke out of the running "We're delighted that Darrell will be staying with us," Hamer said. "We've recognised the work that Darrell has done for us and have rewarded him for that with the offer of a long-term contract. "It sees Darrell become the highest-paid manager in the history of Bristol Rovers and that shows how much faith we have in his ability to keep moving this club forward on the pitch. "It is completely understandable that Darrell took a few days to think things over in his head because it must be extremely flattering to even be considered by a club with the history and tradition of Leeds United. Read more: Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke to become 'highest paid' manager in club's history "That he has decided that his future with us is fantastic because what we have going forward is very exciting and he can be a part of that from the foundations upwards. "I think our fans will be delighted. You'd struggle to find a more popular manager with his own supporters." Clarke was Leeds' owner Massimo Cellino's number one target but, after having one approach rejected earlier this week, his pursuit is at an end, and Hamer is pleased that Rovers can now full focus all their efforts on preparing for life in League One next season. "Both clubs have behaved impeccably in bringing the matter to a swift conclusion, which was in the best interests off all parties at this time of year," said Hamer. "I want to say that the way Leeds conducted themselves during any negotiations we may have had was exemplary. We wish (Leeds owner) Mr (Massiom) Cellino all the best in his search for a new manager. "I had lunch with Darrell on Monday and said that whatever happened it was important that the whiole matter was concluded swiftly. "I've spent Friday morning with Darrell's agent going over the deal and all that is left to do is for Darrell to physically sign the contract. "We're happy with that. There are no more distractions now and we can really all start to fully focus on getting on with what we need to do over the summer. We're delighted as a club and we just want to get on with what we need to do to be ready to be competitive in League One next season." I think a couple of you underestimate the greatness of this news. DC hasn't turned down that batty LUFC president. He could do that without signing this contract. He could have waited for the next, better, opportunity later summer. He did not. He signed. LUFC interest must have added more than a few quid. Plus strengthened DC's influence and control at BRFC. But he signed. It's still May. Last season's still playing for playoff clubs. He signed in May. Now he can focus on player signings. Now, not after he signs later. It is done. I think this is absolutely fantastic.

The wait is over....and this is great news.
However, I am still waiting on certain individuals (like Jon the Stripe) to reveal what "they have heard" about all not being rosy with the new regime. Care to elaborate?
1st Major Test for new regime - passed with flying colours.
Real outcomes speak louder than Forum words (there is another term or it) is the message.

Should serious consideration now be given to an open top bus tour to celebrate the best signing for many a year.Route via all the pubs on Gloucester Road through to The Three Lions at Ashton Gate.
