It`s shocking. What will we have to moan about? All the newcomers seem to talk very well, and first impressions are certainly very good. However, they- obviously- haven't actually built a new stadium yet, so I'm still in the 'believe it when I see it' camp. What odds are you willing to give me?

The culture at Rovers appears to have been turn't 180 degrees in just two weeks! Amazing times for Gasheads let's all enjoy the ride. It feels like "Come on you Blues" can now be sang in unison with renewed and realistic optimism!

Time to disband this forum and revert to Gaschat fellows - there's no place for you now ? Maybe we can be happy people instead of sad? Because that's what most of us were; very sad that so many simple, straightforward things were not being done. It's not just what they are doing but the way it is being done and keeping supporters informed. To be honest, with everything that's happened so far and the calibre of the business people that the new owners are surrounding themselves with, I don't care that much about them telling us every detail of what they are doing, I'm as sure as sure can be that we'll be sat in a new stadium as soon as possible and that the future is as secure as it can be for any football club. 1 year ago we had Bradshaw arguing with supporters about what T-shirts the club shop should sell, and today we have a man who it seems project managed the build of Wembley stadium working with us. You literally couldn't make this up.

I chuckled at that part of the interview - slightly smaller than Wembley - so only 80,000 capacity for us! Oh don't - otib will boil overĀ I appreciate that having a massive stadium with us rattling around in it would be faintly ridiculous but it would almost be worth it to see that lot go into meltdown! :-)

Appointing people who are experts to take charge of things? Promptly and professionally communicating the news to fans? How many more time-honoured Rovers traditions are they going to get rid of? They'll have our players marking the opposition at throw-ins next!

I cannot wait until they announce the new stadium's capacity Hopefully they'll put an extra tier on one or two of stands just to make it a bigger capacity than AG, we could only use it like Wembley for concerts etc but we'll then always have the bigger stadium out of the two clubs!! You could see Pantsdown head spinning at that thought!!

If we were to change the plans, hopefully we don't go down the route of Bolton or Brighton. As pretty as their stadiums are, it seems a bit loopy to build a design that cannot be expanded, especially in Brightons case now where they nearly sell the place out with season tickets. Give me a Madjeski and I'd be delighted. Also.. mixed use... no running track I hope...

I have no doubt that we would fill up a decent sized stadium if we were playing high enough up the leagues but if, for example, we built a 30,000 seater stadium now we'd do well to get a regular attendance of 10,000 at our current level or even the one above.

Someone already said it. This is like a dream where you keep expecting to wake up. I think what impresses me most isn't just the calibre of people coming in, but the fact that Wael has set out his strategy very clearly from day dot and almost immediately he has put the people in place that he needs to deliver that strategy. Seriously happy to see his approach is to get the right people in, take his time to get it right and then build the team from that solid base.
My only concern is that it's very clear that the stadium design and contracts are under review. I mean we're likely to end up with something even better than before which is terrific, but I do hope that they don't get a surprise when they decide to make the changes, re-apply for planning permission and then get bogged down in Planet Nimby all over again.
Bloody brilliant though!

I posted elsewhere that the new stadia built over the last 20 years have, on average, led to nearly a doubling of crowds - taking the attendances 5 years before the move and five years after. This is not guaranteed and I am also close to concluding that the reason for the increase is not about better facilities per se, but is about the overall increase in investment in on and off-field matters that come alongside the investment in a stadium, i.e. wealthy owners/ boards are necessary, rather than scraping by to build the stadium, but be skint thereafter. Failures like Darlington occured for this reason (and others in their case). So we still need to see a new Rovers stadium built, but I suppose my point is that there is a huge difference between now and our previous position, where we might have just built the stadium, but had no money left to invest in anything else (let alone the inefficiencies of our homespun directorial team).
