Allegedly, DC has told attendees at the AGM that he's unhappy with Nicholls and he'll be returning to Wigan on December 12th.
Which is fine, except its November 26th.

One assumes he'll be replaced by the fans favourite Steve Mildenhall, a number appear not to have forgiven Nicholls or Puddy for taking his place and keep singing his name. Nicholls will be glad to go back home with that sort of support.

Have to agree it's a shocking way to treat a young player who's doing us a favour, if I was Nicholls I'd quit the club tomorrow.

It's a fair criticism to say DC has had all the time in the world to rectify this goalkeeping problem.
If he made his mind up about Milds, and Puddy was rewarded with a season contract, he's played himself into a corner when both don't feature for whatever reason.
On a similar note, McGhee was completely incompetent with our pre season a few years ago she he picked up a goalkeeper to drive hm to Ipswich Town for our first competitive match of the season.
Farcical situation for a professional club then... and we're spiralling our way back to that same place if we continue to persist with someone he allegedly isn't happy with now.

He might be a nice guy but he has hardly stopped anything that's been on target from outside the box. Mildenhall is better than him and Puddy yet it seems DC is not allowed to pick him. Wouldn't have anything to do with money would it? No of course not. You get what you pay for in life.

So who's playing on Saturday given Mildenhall has hardly been flavour of the month lately? Once Mildenhall was consider not good enough DC should have gone out and signed a replacemen not messed about with loan goalies.

I have always been a great supporter of DC and think he has done a good job. Part of his strength has been building a group of players prepared to do their best and go that extra mile. He doesn't criticise players publicly by name and will always say the team needs to improve. But his naming of Mildenhall not being good enough in the Summer was personal as is his criticism of Nicholls now. It seems strange to name keeper at a SC Meeting as going back to Wigan in December ..... But we have matches before then so will Nicholls bust a gut? If Milds comes back knowing what DC thinks will his confidence be high or will he think "I'll show him"? I expect managers to criticise, but behind dressing room doors not in a public meeting when players not present. It just seems a strange way to approach things. UTG!

I'm only kidding. I would have realised after Newport that I wasn't very good and would have moved close to a Conference team's ground, there's always plenty of employment for plasterers, van drivers, newsagents, auto electricians and postmen in the areas around part time clubs.

Maybe Nicholls said to DC that it wasn't working for him here, DC agreed, and both concluded that the loan would finish on the due date and would not be extended. Just trying to look at all possibilities!

Even if he doesn't play it DOES matter. Clubs will not want to loan us players if they think our manager will criticise their players publicly. I think it matters a good deal. If DC said that I think it is poor. Other clubs have got good loan players over the past year and we have struggled. I don't think this will help. By all means be critical but do so face to face with player and do it privately. As a big fan of DC I am sorry he goes public with criticism long term it won't be good for the team. UTG!

Sad to say this but time has caught up with Mildy, the preseason game against Cheltenham he was all over the place and was very much at fault for the goals conceded, whatever he had when he first came to us gradually dwindled away last season. The reason he's not being picked isn't to do with money, he gets that paid every month, it's to do with his fading ability. The only reason he is still with us is he took up the option in his contract of another season and no one else will take him due to his salary so he is just biding his time out until his contract concludes.

But didn't last season's Eastleigh & Halifax games confirm that anyway? DC should have lined up a new goalie in the summer, but giving Mildenhall a 3 year contract was madness.

I have no problem with signing loan goalkeepers to cover while your No1 is injured. I don't think anyone expected Puddy to be out for this long.
