Bamber. why are you continually pushing for Jon the Stripe to divulge what he knows ? You have pursued this like a Dog wanting a bone and he has stated, quite clearly, that he has said as much as he can. He has been open in what he has said and also has told us that he did it for his own reasons. I know the man and so I know that he has never before been involved in the ITK brigade so give him a break please mate. For clarity he did say that he thought that the people in question "may" make some statement this week, there are a couple of days left on that. You know how people get lambasted in here, for passing information and then not giving out their sources. It's a very brave person who is prepared for the abuse, mistrust and then some really nasty and spiteful comments. You also know that th club are good at putting out disinformation, I was used in that manner but that's another story. I just don't get why you are really going on, to try and get Jons source when he has made it abundantly clear that he has said as much as he is prepared to say. If this came from the usual people then I would probably be having a pop but Jon has no form at all in this area. We will just have to wait & see what develops. For what it's worth, I believe him. I just don't feel a need to ask for any further information is all. Can we go back a good few years; who was it that "broke" the story regarding UWE? Who was "ITK"? I honestly would not know as I only started posting a little over a year ago on here.

I'm still backing JTS! Let's see if the consortium want to buy us before Sainsburys are done and dusted or after!

It could be true that NH doesn't know who the consortium is (officially no, privately, yes), he may be just dealing with the "front man".
I still believe JTS is right in the broad sense, if not the detailed one.

Come on Jon, that looks like petty point scoring to me. Either your info is good, in which case I hope we hear something soon, or it isn't. But harking back to Higgs' idiocy doesn't really advance the cause does it, unless it really is all just a clumsy attempt to 'discredit' him?

Although this "I'm going to deny this but not quite deny it" stuff seems a bit childish, why doesn't he come straight out and deny the rumour or just not say anything at all?

Sorry you saw it that way it was not intended and i have no reason to discredit our chairman i don't need to or want to - i was purely making a point to defend myself and may have done that in the wrong way for which i apologise - UTG

As I see it you don't need to defend yourself. The truth will out

History is littered with examples of those in power denying something which later proved to be true. Excuses usually centre around 'it was the best thing to do/say for all concerned at the time.'

KP It was a long time ago and much water has flowed since then but I am pretty sure (no very sure) it was the same person? It's perhaps, sort of, confirmed by the "like"? I cannot recall any other "ITK" comments from that same person in between so I don't think there is a track record of dubious "ITK" mischief making. In fact I know there isn't.

Could there be a confidentiality clause, and Higgs is calling out these rumour mongers to name the source ? Is he playing dumb to see who blinks first ? I haven't got the foggiest but have a gut feeling there is more to this than a wind up

I'm sure NH realises that business and personal issues are two different things. The next time JTS hosts a FFS event at the Mem, Nick will walk up to Jon, grasp his throat and shake it warmly.

If this is wind up then well played JTS. Though I am thinking anybody one here could make something up and people would jump all over it.

Sorry but don't believe in any of these rumours at all!. One minute we are told UWE are building a stadium: next another interested party will fund it. Both models of working totally contradict each other. our only option enforced on us is NH and co who have been trying but failed on 3-4 drawn up projects at the MEM.
Sadly: our desire to believe that a 'gold mine' will happen one day is slightly justified. We are a club that averages over 7500 : we took 32000 to wembley and our fanbase and support should be respected. Currently : our average attendance including division one and two sides would put us in the top 10: even above Swindon. So fans rightly ask why is it every other biggish club have stadiums which are worthy to use .
So what is my solution ??. We can't rewind time but we need to be totally realistic. Firstly NH will just keep fighting and fighting in order to justify the money he as spent on previous projects . It would be interesting to actually find out how much ?. And can we carry on these fights knowing it's costing us money which could be used elsewhere ?. So I would..
Stop any dreams and ego's about mystery heavyweights ploughing money in. I would divert all funds to the playing budget and realistic upgrading of the MEM. I would suggest CS contacts the football foundation to find out how much is available ?. My 3 year project would involve a) A new south stand B) Divison one football and that's it.
Of course some would say I am a 'killjoy' . But I rather focus on the small things we can do rather than the thing's we can't.

Hi Jon....are you still as confident now about this as when you first shared this news with us, can you/are you able to put any time line when the consortium will be revealed or are you not privy to that information ? Hi Bridgey long time no see - Quietly confident something will happen still and stand by my original tweet that a consortium are trying to takeover the club with funds to build UWE as per original plans - i understand things are in the discussions stage still with plenty of games being played out - as a goodwill gesture i will put £50 into the FFS Club if proved completely wrong for being a pain in the ass on here or incredibly stupid and gullible! - UTG Hi Jon, Yes, haven't seen you for a while mate, perhaps we should hold a Wellie group meeting ! Obviously only you know who you have had the discussion with but do you believe the potential investors have access to the sum of money required to take over the club and build the UWE or are you not close enough to know who the consortium are ? 'Bridgey'

Astafievs If I am a fantasist because I believe in small manageable projects ( community grant towards a modest size south stand) and more direction to the playing budget. What words will you use to describe 4 failed projects on the MEM and ongoing legal costs by NH and co ? And now more stories and tales about people injecting £40 million into us or someone else building a stadium for free so we can move in ?.
Once again no evaluation on pass failures which is rooking the club and more dreams about sugar daddy's putting up £40 million plus by daydreamers. Who's the fantasist now ? .
