The elephant in the room could be the Appeal win that and Rovers could have rights of upto £30m+ in compo and probably be worth £m's more, lose it and we're knackered! Could it be that's why we have appealed? - a long drawn out saga would mean we are almost impossible to value for the foreseeable future - not accusing anyone of anything btw just throwing it in the mix - UTG Edit:Just to clarify - in fairness if i was mr Higgs i would want to know the true value of the club which will only be known after the court case saga which could last years! Otherwise i may be selling something for £10 when it could be worth £20 Thing is it’s still only ‘worth’ £30m to Sainsbury’s if we won the appeal. In that scenario we get all that money but it has to be spent on the UWE project. That project as we know has a shortfall, and additional finance would be required. NH could sell to someone who would finish the build but would he really make much profit or just get his money back? Even in the Scenario that UWE could be completed, but directors are owed their loans, what is it all worth? The stadium is only worth the money it can generate (yet to be determined) as we wouldn’t own the land it was built on

I just hope something is made public before Saturday so we can have time to discuss a plan for Saturday in a form of a protest for example. This is absolutely crazy. A nice guy with good intentions posts a rumour on an Internet forum and suddenly the chairman is supposed to walk away, fellow gasheads are being slated for passing on information they've received and now we're supposed to protest in Saturday, one week later! "A nice guy with good intentions" - that you disagreed with and thought shouldn't have said anything full stop. "Posts a rumour on an internet forum" - that was you. JTS and others didn't post a rumour. They posted a fact. "Suddenly the chairman is supposed to walk away" - well yes. Its a great offer that will never be replicated again that's for sure. Higgs holding us back. "Fellow gasheads being slated for passing on info" - that was you, slating JTS and others in the know. You just passed on made up BS. "Now we're supposed to protest on Saturday" - read again, I said that was an example. Something needs to be done to pressure Higgs. The following home game is in a few weeks time when it could be too late by then. Get it? Probably not. At least I tried

People on here have lost thier heads a little with this rumour, bit embarrassing really. Its embarrassing that the happy clappers still call this a rumour. When clearly its not. Carry on leaving your head in the sand and accepting the ragbag Rovers way under the current regime being miles behind City in many ways. That's a dim future ahead. I along with many others want more for our team/club. This consortium is offering just that. A bright future. Each to their own I guess.

To be fair we don't actually know what they are offering other than to possibly build the stadium

So? rumournoun 1. a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth. Verb 1. be circulated as an unverified account. fact
noun a thing that is known or proved to be true. JTS has said he's uncertain of the truth so no, it isn't a fact. everything you've said after that is a non-sequitur because you've confused the meaning of the word fact so any talk of Higgs walking away or a protest is nonsense at this stage. And yes I heard a different version of the same rumour - it happens, that's how rumours work. Just because you don't like it really isn't my problem.

So given that this is a fact you'll be able to tell me who "The Consortium" are and what they're offering won't you. That's how facts work isn't it?

I've supported this club man and boy for about 45 years. Now we have a rumour of a buy-out by a mega-rich consortium, who may be US based, or they may be based in Birmingham. When it comes to Rovers I'm afraid any optimism was destroyed many years ago. I'm actually finding this all quite funny........and I'm pissed wet through !

JTS has said he is uncertain on the details on the deal. He has said its a fact that a consortium has made Higgs an offer. Nice try though. Carry on making yourself silly though. But well done with cutting out your made up "rumour".

Consortium Approach Rovers Vital Gas understands that a Consortium has made an approach to take over Bristol Rovers Football Club with a promise to invest at least 40 million into building a new Stadium at the UWE and further investment into the team.. It is thought that current Owner and Chairman, Nick Higgs has rejected this advance as it stands as the offer does not allow for repayment of losses that he incurred during his ownership.. The Consortium is thought to be Birmingham based but currently the identities of the individuals involved are unknown.
