But it might add context to why Colin Sexstone's been brought in, and why they're maintaining what seems to be a legally futile leave to appeal the Sainsbury's judgement, and whatever weird twist comes next. It might not change any outcomes, but might save a few pages of speculation in other threads. If there really was a hostile takeover attempt (I think that's what's being suggested here?) Higgs wouldn't rely on a show of hands, he would use his shareholding to protect his position, wouldn't he? I think that the Sainsbury's case is just about dead in the water, and Nick knows it, but he's taking a punt and is willing to spend a comparatively small amount of money on the appeal because the possible return is huge compared to the risk, maybe? You mention it may be a hostile takeover, have considered that NH may be part of the new consortium? There is talk of "new investors" which doesn't preclude the present investors being part of that group.

you mean this bit?
Good points CJS - This is our future we are talking about - i think CS is being brought in to help oversee the reduction in size of the UWE Project which could see: Reduced Capacity! - Split ownership! (possibly 3 ways) - No car park revenue! - Reduced income streams! - An 8 lane running track! - Little room for expansion - And this is our so called 'Promised land!!!! Once this or whatever plan is signed off it will be built and we will have to live with it for decades - If we have any real ambitions (obviously this board have very little by the scheme of things) we need a Stadium that will allow growth if/when we are more successful and benefit from revenue streams in those times - If you're happy with what we've become the last 15 years of course that's fine either stay where we are or share a downsized stadium with a few partners - but don't call it ours cause it won't be - Personally i want better, the decisions made over the coming weeks will act as our legacy both on and off the pitch - i hope the future generations don't have to post on Forums "Why didn't the supporters in 2015 demand better?" like we do occasionally when referring to the sale of Eastville - because by then it will be too late in my opinion - UTG

"I have to be careful what i write/post regards 'libel' so in my opinion the consortium is more than one single party and in my opinion the existing board will need to step aside Hope you understand this is difficult for me at the moment - regards JTS" "The offer is on the table and the consortium have bent over backwards satisfying conditions but they are getting nowhere hence why i feel it has to become public knowledge - Old timer there is no rumour here it is fact and the offer and investment is both fantastic and must be looked at for our potential future success - assuring you of my good intentions - JTS" Still can't understand why JTS has had to make this public and not somebody connected directly to the consortium, somebody ITK is clearly leaking the info.

Someone leading a consortium to buy out the Board. Someone with friends in high places, deep pockets, and a great sense for a fabulous investment. Someone who will know the potential of the club and the brand/merchandising opportunities. Someone well known? Media type?, perhaps someone who has made a lot of money after a fabulous career and disappeared from the public eye?........................could it be Jed Pitman!

Now that would be amusing, it might even bring a smile to Richard's face, who knows? But seriously I am getting a little confused as to where we are with all of this, so would someone kindly summarise for me. Accurately mind, no bias to be shown one way or another.

I'm struggling to come to grips that there's a group of people willing to risk up £40 million big ones to build a stadium for a League 2 football team, what's in it for them, other than us fans undying gratitued ?

I think we will see a statement from the club this weeks saying that no suitable offer has been made.
I often wonder about the bloke who won the £83 mill on Euromillions if only he was one of us

I often wonder about the bloke who won the £83 mill on Euromillions if only he was one of us The only Bristolian who won a shed load of money just happened to be living in Newport at the time and decided to financially support County for a while but I think he quickly came to realise that he was pouring money down a drain that he wasn't ever going to get back, so he's offered to sell his shares to the Supporters Trust and take himself off to Barbados before he loses anymore of his millions.

Enjoying reading all these rumours and theories, even if they don't reach fruition nice to dream.

99.9% of the times these stories tend to be either false or nothing stories. As I have mentioned countless times we have been promised so much and nothing has been delivered. The UWE pipe-dream is the 4th project we have been promised since 1997 so I call it plan D. It appears we have now lost this battle so tactfully someone somewhere wants to divert attention from pass failures and move on to plan E.
I am at a loss to the hidden agenda's behind leaking such information. It could be by feeding dreams upon dreams we feel better or build up expectations never achieved. The fact is nothing changes and this time next year we be discussing plans F-H.

Perhaps we have to come at this from another angle. We've all been so caught up in what our BoD is doing and whether there is a Plan B that we have forgotten that there's another party in all this ....UWE. Should we think for one moment that while we have been pre-occupied with Trash, JRs, appeals etc, and the clock has ticked away, that they have been sitting twiddling their fingers and waiting to hear from us?! They have the site and the planning permission. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that THEY have Plans B,C and D? UWE is a university growing in size and stature. It co-operates increasingly with the University of Bristol. They would be an attractive prospect for future investors. You never know...we could end up as their tenants! Oh, and don't forget, some years ago they awarded an honorary degree to one SL, for services to the university in the field of financial advice.
