Hi Bristol Rovers supporters. Hope things are going well with your plans for a return to the Football League. Also many thanks indeed for the terrific compliments that you made on many social network sites about Grimsby Town Football Club and your wish to see us return to the Football League next season. I am not sure if you have seen what is happening at Grimsby with the supporters quest to boost our financial playing budget at our little old club? Please take a look, it is really super for a little club like ourse. If you would like to help us out with a pledge for as little as £1 it would be warmly received. Thank you. www.crowdfunder.co.uk/GTFCIt would also be very helpful if you would help our campaign by sharing this link on social network sites, Thanks once again and good luck for next season. You misinterpreted our meaningless wishes of good luck as a genuine care for the well being of your club. Sorry dude, they were just empty words. Good luck!

I'm afraid i'll have to side with the BR fans. You cant really expect rival fans to give to another club to buy players. Its been really cosy over the past few weeks with both sides being very complimentary, rather like finishing with your girlfriend but remaining friends and actually getting on better with her now that you are no longer seeing each other which is all really lovely and all that. But asking for a few quid is then like asking the aforementioned ex girlfriend if you can be friends with benefits - don't push it mister! didn't realise you knew my ex as well? Is your eye ok after you asked for those benefits?

A fool and his money are rarely parted..... Well done Grimsby for what you are doing but as much as I wish you well next season, financially there's only ever one club I'm going to support. The only exception to this approach is where in the past we've raised money towards other clubs supporters who require medical treatment or specialist equipment.

If all non-league, L1 & L2 fans cancelled their Sky Sports and donated £50 per month to their club instead, we'd make a difference to our clubs!
The Premier League wouldn't miss the £££'s either!

On the theme of boosting income, and well done to the Grimsby supporters' trust for doing this, generally I'm always far keener for something more two-way in fund raising. 'Sponsor me to sit in a bath of baked beans / have my head shaved / do a parachute jump (that I fancy doing anyway) etc? It's for charity.' Why? How about I pay you to do something useful like doing an old lady's gardening or rewiring or something else of some use and you then donate that to the good cause'.
in this case, given the amounts involved, if our SC were to try to do something similar (ha, ha) let alone the club (ha, ha, ha-di-ha ha) I'd prefer maybe a 'fill the ground' day. Say 4,000 extra are encouraged to pitch up at an average of (say) £15 each for some dull fixture in November. £60K. 4,000 people will hopefully have had a good day (a good thing, Jeremy Bentham-stylee) and might be prompted to spend a bit more while they're there and come back again more often (upselling and future additional benefit).
Not going to happen here, but Grimsby are welcome to the idea.

The fundraising has gone bonkers. There is talk of £100,000 being raised. I see from the comments on the crowdfunder page that some Bristol fans have donated. Many many thanks to whoever you are.

As for Blatter, go to jail, go directly to jail and do not collect £200m.
