Is anyone else watching the game on BT Sport?
It's a real blood and thunder game to decide who will be promoted to the SPFL Premiership, and Motherwell have just scored to make it 4-1 on aggregate.
But above all bags of passion and effort.

I watched it. Pretty boring and one sided tbh.

Motherwell 3, Rangers 0 (Motherwell win 6-1 on aggregate). I'd agree that it was seriously one-sided.

The passion bit seemed to happen at the end of the match?
Rangers goalie made Puddy's howler v Dover a reasonable attempt at a save!

Yes, the passion bit that will now involve the police. After the final whistle Motherwell's Lee Erwin pushed Ranger's Tunisian player Bilel Mohsni, who responded with a kick and a punch. An unseemly swill followed and was not a great advert for the beautiful game - even the Scottish variety. No-one died but the incident left a sour taste, particularly after Ranger's 'keeper, the calamitous Cammy Bell, had feebly failed to punch a looping shot - the ball and Bell ending up in the net in a lamentable heap. Shame really, as it was a leading candidate for this year's Christmas DVD.
Made I laugh...

I think it's reasonable to suggest that this Rangers season is in the frame for one of the worst single one off seasons ever contested by an individual club given the relative context. The whole system seemed basically designed to give them the maximum possible chance of returning to the top flight and they still managed to utterly screw it up. I mean really being beaten 6-1 over 2 legs by Motherwell is pretty bloody staggeringly terrible no matter what state they're in off the field.
No wonder Motherwell are so happy - you can make a good case that they're responsible for the worst one off days in the recent history of both Rangers and Celtic. If you're not an Old Firm Club that's pretty much as good as it gets in Scotland.

My Celtic season ticket went up by £50 this year, presumably because the club assumed the Rangers tribute act would be going up. I would ask for a partial refund, but I think todays result was worth the extra cash

Stuart McCall promised he'd fight to keep Motherwell up in December, mission accomplished.

Haters gonna hate. 54 and counting.............. TBF, I hate both Newco and Celtic. Having lived in Glasgow I'm also not keen on Partick either. There's only one club in Glasgow that are worth supporting and that's the original Super Hoops, the mighty spiders, the men that play for the sake of playing.
Mon the QP.

I think the saddest thing for Rangers supporters is they've gone from being the most successful club in Scotland to the fifth most successful in Glasgow behind Rangers, Celtic, QP and Partick. I mean, ouch.

Gotta soft spot for the Spiders myself. In reply to the rest of what you say, what can i say? I'm f**king hurting, it's getting f**king stupid now, the clubs been run into the ground ffs......... at least Mohsni had some punch!!! I know Rangers have little in common with The Gas but just like others the lesson's are there....always challenge the people running your club they can do more damage long term off the pitch than any player or manager can ever do on it.

My Rangers mates (yes I have some) up there were saying even before the play offs, that they thought they would be better of staying down for at least one more season, and they are probably right. I saw Rangers twice this season, once in the Hampden semi v Celtic where they were pretty awful, and again away to Falkirk on a Friday night when they really were abysmal, and somehow managed to scrape a 1-1 draw. I honestly think Rovers would have beaten them that night.

I don't really follow Scottish football that much (why would I ?) but I've noticed at the few Glasgow Celtic games that have been shown their stadium has been less than full. Is that from the impact of Glasgow Rangers not being in the same league now or is that how it usually is other than games between the 'Old Firm' ? How are 'Celtic' coping with the reduced income as a result of the loss from the 'Old Firm' games, has it meant they have had to play more home grown/local players ?

Around ten years ago Celtic Park was near enough a sell out for every game, however crowds for league games began dwindling before Rangers demise. I think Celtic have 40 odd thousand ticket holders, but most league games are played out in front of crowds of 30-35000ish. Celtic cope with the reduced income (which incidentally is more to do with Setanta going belly up rather than lack of Old Firm games) by cutting their cloth accordingly and seeking unknowns with potential (normally from Scandanavia) rather than the signing of former English Premier League players at the tail end of their careers.

Thanks Rex, that's very helpful. I suppose an attendance of 30/35000 in a stadium that holds 60,000 ? could seem partially empty to an outsider like me. I haven't seen any games at Ibrox to know what the state of their attendances are but I had read somewhere that they were still getting 36,000+ at their games despite their relegation. Of course as a one eyed Gashead attendances at that level for us seem light years away.

Celtic and Rangers (as do most clubs) count season ticket holders as attending whether they do or not, and as both clubs have a pretty high proportion who don't attend, it would explain the inflated average attendance figures.

St Mirren all the way. Not exactly Glasgow but not far off. They've always been my Scottish side. Scottish football is in the dumps sadly.
