Is there anyone not backing Puddy? I have seen people on here (including myself) say they prefer Mildenhall in goal, but not seen anyone say they are not backing Puddy! Im supporting anyone in a Rovers shirt. Hopefully they all do the job tonight. Like I said, its a discussion/debate about who we feel should be in goal. No one said they are not backing anyone. Still cant see an issue. Just when I was starting to actually like this forum. Cant even discuss which keeper we would chose to go in goal! Guess I will get my coat. I actually prefer Puddy as he keeps the tempo high and if we are in attacking situations he gets the ball out to feet and throws the ball out where I have rarely seen Mildy do that. I hope we go out on the front foot. If that's the case then I see Puddy as a positive. My comment about Mildy stands, apparently he made his feelings known recently. what has mildy made clear?

A win or draw on Sunday & we are off to Wembley. The way we battled in the second half was incredible, i'm struggling to remember that last time we had a group of players prepared to take body blows left right and centre from the thugs of Nailsworth or any other team, the honesty & desire of our team is a joy to watch. Matty Taylor lead the line really well, covered a ridiculous amount of miles from the first to last minute, he's excellent in the air and that goal showed what a quality little striker he is. The difference between a Mansell & Sinclair/Clarke midfield and a Mansell & Lines midfield is huge, Linesy has given us that swagger on the ball and the way he was looking to push passes through the FGR defence was impressive, the team is starting to add technical quality to the hoofball (on the subject of hoofball i like it alot if it's done right, and we do it right with Lee Browns wand of a left foot, and the way second balls are won). Looking forward to sunday now, the players love the big crowd, and i think FGR will freeze.

Ellis may need to come off, he is arguing like mad. I first noticed that he was losing his composure when Monkhouse was fouled a while ago, he got involved in some ''afters'' and he seemed to go on from there. Easy to say I know, but perhaps he should have been taken off for his own good before the situation got as bad as it did. that's what the bloke I was watching the telly with said

He reacted and I am not going to hold him to it because we all could see it coming.

I thought he had the right to go for the ball Have you seen the slow motion ? The ball was nowhere near him. Sorry, I have backed him all the way but that was selfish & petulant. He really is not a mature guy. In slow mo I thought he was looking at the ball and agree he had right to go for it. He pulled his foot out of the challenge when he saw the keeper but caught him with his knee. Looked worse than it was and wasn't his intention to take the keeper which could be why he was so angry at sending off. IMO of course.

I only go to away games so last nights my last game this season,I enjoyed the first half,Taylors goal was superb and we could have gone in 4 up (2 good saves and hit the bar)..second half was totally different we stopped playing it on the floor,it was so obvious that Harrison would get sent off,I said it to my mate when he got booked..the only thing that didn't happen was them scoring late on,I was expecting that..if we play it on the floor we will beat them again but I walked out last night feeling a bit flat we should have wrapped it up first half.

I have not been able to even look at the forum since the Dover match, I knew we had blown the title. Yesterday's goal by Taylor was, in my opinion, the best goal I have seen him score - fast thinking and very skilful - shame he went on to fluff his other chances. The mem on Sunday will a cauldron and I am looking forward to it, but nervous.
Who plays instead of silly boy Ellis?

You could see it coming. Good player, but too hot headed. There was no need for either yellow. Still, at least he can`t be sent off on Sunday, and miss Wembley, ( should we get there ).

Fair comments on Ellis by DC. Was daft, but the lad has come a long way from being bombed out nearly 12 months ago Exactly. he's clearly had it drummed into him that he needs to be more committed to games, and that's been a big part of his improvement. He's swung the other way too far this time, but hopefully he'll learn from that and it will help him find the right balance in future.
He's only a young lad, and sometimes young lads have to learn the hard way.

I thought FGR were like rabbits in headlights in the first half. Totally overwhelmed by the occasion. We played well but they let us have so much time of the ball in the middle third. We just dictated the game. I was dissapointed we weren't more than 1 up at half time because that allowed them to regroup. They were a much better team in the second half. They pressed us more and we had less space to operate in. Nevertheless we looked comfortable enough till Harrison's sending off. Just brainless I'm afraid - 2 cheap, silly bookings and now the tie looks tougher than it should because we only have 2 fit strikers for the 2nd leg. Yes he's young and it wasn't a horrendous thing to do but it was very unprofessional and has sold his teammates down the river; playoff ties are usually by the team that best keeps its cool over the 2 legs. I feel a bit sorry for him and I hope he doesn't (and Rovers don't) end up paying a high price for it. But how can you complain about being 1 up going back to the Mem for the home leg?

Agree mostly, I just think as much as Ellis let things get to him, a proportion of his actions were incited by gamesmanship of fgr. It's somewhat of an injustice that Ellis was sent off for a 50/50 challenge he had every right to go for, whilst at the same time I clough had acted like he did on the pitch , off it, he would have a criminal record. Yes, Ellis let himself slip for a bit, but come on....fgr had a huge hand in it. Ellis has passion and he cares. He's much better than that. And at least he'll definitely be available for Wembley... !!!

You don't get any points for behaving like choir boys. The Corinthian spirit died a long time ago. In Parkin, Pipe etc they have a set of experienced players who know how to push the boundaries and wind up the opposition. Of course they'll try it on in a playoff semi-final. You have to be smarter and not rise to it or let the occasion get you - Ellis did and it was dumb. Passion isn't much use if it's sat stewing in the dressing room. Yep, Clough was lucky as hell but both his major fouls were on the blindside of the ref and I don't think that was an accident.

If a team is going to play with those traits as you say, at some point under extreme provocation there will be a reaction of some sort.
Understand and agree with what you are saying, irish, but there comes a point where injustice is injustice....and I feel Ellis doesn't deserve the label of letting himself and team down due to lack of discipline, in the face of every niggle/foul/assault going unpunished, including play acting like you've been shot by a sniper on a 50/50 challenge.
It's laughable!
