It's more than likely that I may have missed an update, so if I have then bear with me. But what I do know for certain is that Jermaine Easter started the game on Good Friday versus Chester, was substituted after about 30 minutes with a suspected knee injury, appeared reluctant to leave the pitch, but I have heard nothing since then. He didn't play on Monday versus Kidderminster, and didn't make the bench either, and I didn't hear an explanation why he didn't do so. Does anyone know if he was he rested on Monday, or is he injured?
It did occur to me that the manager may have given Easter a little break on Monday, to allow Nathan Blissett a run-out against his old team, and that Easter could possibly return (all guns blazing) on Saturday.

Me and my Dad spoke to him outside the Kiddie ground. He's having a scan at some point this week. To me, though, he looked fine, no limping when he walked.

But there does seem to be a news blackout.

In fact I doubt that we would even know where to begin.

At the time I just thought he was frustrated that he wasn't able to continue, rather than reluctant.
It was a strange injury to pick up; if you look at the highlights video he collides with the back of the goalkeeper after the defender had cleared his header off the line.

If the keeper had saved it, he would not have fallen on Easter.

I'd much rather he missed the Kidderminster game and was fit for the final 3 possibly 6 games of the season, than him play last Monday make the injury worse and be out of action for several months. We hardly missed him on monday did we, nice to know that Ellis & Blissett can deliver when the pressure is on, Matty Taylor is quality player and Easter is championship quality. A 4 man strikeforce that are easily league 2 standard.

"A 4 man strikeforce that are easily league 2 standard." are you sure about that as 2 of them have never played at league level and we all know Ellis blows hot & cold, now Easter's starting to pick up what seems like soft knee injuries. Although not sure there's a news blackout just that nobody has asked DC the question?

Agree with Westcountry, Ellis has turned a corner (fingers crossed), Taylor is very good (finishing could be a touch better, but his all round is very good), Easter I am sure is very good, Bliss would be the suspect one, but impact sub, fine by me.

He scored a cracker on Monday though, plus another good 'un against Aldershot too, and is our top scorer so far this season. It's true that he could have done better on the goalscoring front earlier in the season, but as others have previously posted he is a fifth-tier player after all, and you only gets what you pays for. Roughly translated I take that to mean that if really was that much better a goalscorer, he would be playing for a Football League club by now. Anyway we may find out next season, eh?

The concept that a player can improve an aspect of their game seems to be alien to some people. Finishing isn't even that hard to coach, given time. Getting into scoring positions is the hard bit, as its a more complicated process.

Having watched Swindon play last night against the others they had a player who played in the conference last year (Ben Gladwin) who looked to good for league 1, i think Bliss will come good.
Gladwin was fantastic and i would love us to find somebody like him to replace Monks.

He said it 4 minutes 27 seconds onwards in this . . . but the fact remains that he didn't appear at Kidderminster, so was he rested for that game . . . or what? I just find it strange that there has been no official comment from the club on his injury (or not, of course), other than the above quote which was made immediately after the Chester game finished.

But he never quotes anything about injuries until asked, maybe nobody from the media has asked yet ?

For the Nth time, why does anyone believe what football managers say? They are speaking either because they have to, or, to wrongfoot opponents.

I get that, I was just stating he jarred his knee as that hadnt been stated yet on here, only hurt his knee. It came across that you didnt know this as you said yourself you may have missed it. I was just trying to fill in one of the blank spaces for you. Going by what Darrell said I would have guessed missing Kidderminster was understandable as too soon after Chester but would be back for Southport. However if he is having scans this week, maybe he wont be back. An update would be nice but maybe Darrell dont want it out in the open as could be a tactical surprise? I just hope he is not rushed back too soon like Sinclair was in my opinion.
