Thought he was superb tonight... pace, power, technique. We should be on the phone trying to sign him up!

Yes, most skilful player I've seen in the Conference. Looked a very good talent tonight.

Agreed. Is he their player or a loanee from someone? As ability wise, he didn't look to be a Braintree level player!

Apparently he has had his fair share of stinkers this season
I wasn't at the game tonight but from reports I have seen and heard he looked very good
Blissett was the same, played well against us but hasn't done anything to warrant the fee we paid for him as of yet

So that warrants the fee we paid? Not so sure, but if those 5 goals and hopefully more to follow between now and the end of the season help get us out of The Conference at the first time of asking then it might be shrewd business

Personally, I don't think that's any coincidence.

he was great tonight but dosnt mean he always is that good! Precisely - reminded me of that Shrewsbury winger at Wembley (Derek Asamoah?)- never heard of since that game yet we all thought he was the dog's bo**ocks at the time.

He didn't need to cover back too much for Gosling.

I think he's the sort of player that would enjoy playing on the larger/better pitches, a bit like Haldane.
I can't imagine him being too effective on their own patch, or away at Halifax or Dartford.
Having said that, he did remind me a little bit of Carayol or Bolase from the red half. Perhaps a little inconstant, but look where they are now, could be worth a punt?

Akinola was the standout player in the reverse fixture, as I mentioned in a blog post at the time – gomadorstopcaring.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/away-day-diary-braintree-town-2-0.htmlAlan Devonshire has a habit of unearthing rough diamonds like him. If you had said to me, after that defeat, that Rovers would by top of the league come the end of February, then I’d have thought you certifiably insane.

Precisely - reminded me of that Shrewsbury winger at Wembley (Derek Asamoah?)- never heard of since that game yet we all thought he was the dog's bo**ocks at the time. Bad example. Asamoah was identified before the game as Shrewsbury's main attacking threat along with Ben Davies so it wasn't a massive shock that he was good in that game; they were set up for him to be their main attacking outlet. He fell out with Shrewsbury, tried to make it with Nice in the top division in France and didn't. Since then he's had a very decent career in various leagues abroad earning more mone than he ever would have done here. This included a very successful stint in the South Korean top division where he'd have been playing in front of 10's of thousands of fans week in week out and earning a wage probably equivalent to what you'd make in the Championship here. He's now back in England playing at Carlisle at the age of 34 - which is pretty good going for a winger. A clever move leaving England really - lower league wingers get beaten up in English football and retire earlier than other players. So he wasn't exactly a one hit wonder - most lower league players would kill for the career that Derek Asamoah has had. The reason he disappeared off Rovers radar is because he was very successful and ambitious and therefore no longer a realistic target, the opposite of having failed in fact. So I think he probably was the dogs bollocks.

Thought Simeon Akinola was terrific, he is the best left sided winger / midfielder I have seen this season, IMO would be a great addition to our squad.
