I know he misses chances but I thought we really missed Matt Taylor in the 2nd half. He is an intelligent player and he can hold the ball up and bring others into play and we missed him 2nd half. If fit, I hope he starts on Tuesday alongside Balanta, who again has similar attributes to Matt Taylor imo.

Sorry but can't agree Taylor before he hurt his hip and after was way off his game and his miss when only the keeper to beat was woeful. As for Blissett - hard to remember a more lack lustre inept performance by a centre forward playing at home. DC should have pulled these 2 off in the 1st half as IMO Balanta and Ellis were far more affective

I thought Blissett did OK. Taylor was crippled fairly early on. He still should have scored his one on one but he was clearly uncomfortable and it was no surprise at all when he went off.

Ellis was woeful when he came on, it was like watching Chris Zebroski on a bad day, Taylor was a huge miss second half, we had zero technical quality up front, and the piss poor hold up play from Blissett & Harrison in that second half could have cost us the 3 points. If MT is out on Tuesday i would start with Blissett & Balanta up top, people demanding Ellis gets a chance but unfortunately when he does he offers very little, seems to lack any sort of pace and composure either when with the ball or when looking to score. Ellis really is in last chance saloon, he's a failed winger and i hope he isn't heading towards being a failed striker as the way he took his goal at Lincoln shows there's potential but i'm not sure the desire is there from him.

Ellis seems to want so much time when he's in possession. He gives the opposition time to get back in place before he does anything. Nothing seems to come quick to him. Thought he was poor today as was Blissett

How weird, I thought Ellis played well, in fact I saw Blissett as ineffective. I'd go Taylor Harrison Tuesday.

Just opinions though, we are on an incredible run, when Easters ready the timing could be perfect

Thought Blisset had flu and two left boots on today.

Both Taylor and Blissett took knocks early on and therefore didn't play as well as normal. Anyone who was at Grimsby last week will know they were very good in the second half and that was against one of the best defences in the league.
We certainly missed Taylor in the second half and it underlined how weak an understudy Ellis is. Don't get me wrong, he works hard and tries his best (which he was accused of not giving last season), but he just isn't very good. The sooner we get Easter back the better, as we will have additional quality to bring off the bench.
Great win today though because we weren't at our best and the ref was doing all he could to make life even more difficult for us.

If Harrison had put as much effort in last season as he has this season, he might have developed into a decent player.
I'd like to see Balanta given a bit longer on the pitch Tuesday, looked pretty good in his brief cameo.

Are you saying there was a ref there today? Never saw one - just a clown who had forgotten his red nose and big feet.

that 1v1 Taylor had: Why the f**k did he use his left? It was set up perfectly for a right-footed curler to the far corner... I'm sure he must have more assists than goals?

How weird, I thought Ellis played well, in fact I saw Blissett as ineffective. I'd go Taylor Harrison Tuesday. I thought Ellis did ok. Most times he got the ball, he made space for himself nicely. Can`t agree that Blissett was "ineffective". He was worse than that. Far worse. No matter how gently the ball was played in his direction, it would bounce at least ten feet away from him. His control was pitiful.

His control was pitiful. Agree entirely - Ellis came on and showed a level of composure that had been lacking - and ran some good lines to give a few more options. Until he and Balanta got together the ball had been pinging back off a Blissett who had an absolute shocker. There seemed to be at least some understanding between the two who finished the game up front. The bigger issue for me yesterday was Mansell - who chased shadows for much of the game and scarcely got a touch. Altrincham had too much pace in the middle of the park for us to live with at times - thought they were decent without being threatening in front of goal. Anyway 3 points is what counts - and let's hope we raise it a level for Tuesday against Braintree.

I thought Taylors chance sat up a bit and wasnt as easy as you would think
Thought Ellis did ok, won most headers and was just needing some support (like all the strikers)
Blisset wasnt good, and probably needs a rest. He has done well so far, but is obviously still getting used to being full time you have to think. Needs coaching about how to use his body ala how Jason Roberts needed it, but think Luther can be a decent striker in time.

The number of one on ones Taylor has missed if converted would have changed some of our draws into wins.

The number of one on ones Taylor has missed if converted would have changed some of our draws into wins. True enough and he could be on 20 goals by now. Maybe he's not a natural finisher such as a Jermaine Easter type of forward? Guess that's why he's a conference player. I do like him though, he's a clever player and I hope his injury isn't serious as we would miss him. Maybe ideally he would be suited to playing the so called number 10 position? Not suggesting we do that with less than a quarter of the season to go as what we've done so far is working in this league.

I'm still baffled why with MS on the coaching staff he's showing no signs of improving, surely all it takes is a bit of composure? I think Ollie touched on this in his book, with reference to conversation with Gary Penrice. Composure is most of it, but thee involves confidence, psychology, quality of opposing goalkeepers, form and sometimes good old fashioned luck! I'm sure you can coach some of it, but as was said before, I Taylor could finish like Penrice, he wouldn't be in Conference. I like his other contributions. I also like that we are regularly creating defence splitting passes, but then, I like to focus on positives..
